Idk if anyone else does, but I always headcanoned Sandstorm as being an abandoned kit that Thunderclan took in. And that Redtail could've been the closest she had to a father figure
A small thing about Half-Tail is just that his relationship with One-Eye is quite sweet. A lot of the time the books never show the fathers really interacting with the kits or their mates (especially in the prequels), but there are multiple instances of Half-Tail spending time with both his mate and Mousekit + Runningkit!
I think in the first book Firepaw mentioned a brown tabby queen that we never get the name of and I always liked to imagine her as Dustpaw/pelt's mom and that Dust's father was a cat from outside the clan that was mostly white to explain Icecloud
12:15 ok I really needed that clarification. Because I didn’t know that I was always under the impression that the allegiances were the entire clans. Because I’ve been thinking about what people are expecting from groups this small. Rereading now and I’m like WOW how is there not inter breeding yet after 5-6 arcs? (Not going to bother counting them)
they do show up together with sandpaw and graypaw at the end of bluestar's prophecy but it's not said they're related at all, dustpaw just scares him at the time, the warriors website family tree didn't even have them connected to anyone, both dustpaw and ravenpaw were listed as not being related to anyone at all, it wasn't until years later after bluestar's prophecy had already been released that the idea of them being related was even considered canon at all
yeah, the idea was presented by su susann, a fan on facebook who’s headcanon’s vicky gave the thumbs up to but she later rescinded that after wiki editors started taking su susann’s headcanons as “word of god” and basically said “they were just suggestions” and after a while everything (including ravenpaw and dustpaw being brothers) was deemed uncanon and removed from the wiki (even though i’m pretty sure people still kept trying to add them back on lol) (and to add one more note here, the su susann stuff was happening in 2016-ish, bluestar’s prophecy came out in 2009) it’s only considered canon now because the rebooted website added them as siblings based on that previously deemed uncanon/just a headcanon information, they were not officially stated to be siblings until graystripe’s vow (which came out after the website reboot) and i personally don’t take any outside book sources as canon until the books say otherwise there’s just too much information, y’know? and some of those family tree ideas are just flat out weird to me and make little to no sense in the context of the books (dappletail and runningwind being one)
no, no, the books are canon- that is the canon of warrior cats, i personally don't like to pick and choose what parts of the books are canon or not, if it's in a book then i take it seriously what i don't take into consideration is anything OUTSIDE of the books (author statements, anything said on the website, family tree stuff, etc.) it's easy to keep track of the information that is stated in the books, it's not easy at all for me to keep track of the hundreds of things the authors have offhandedly said over the span of twenty years about the characters many of those pieces of information have never been said or even alluded to in the books, they only exist because the authors have offhandedly confirmed them or you have to search the website family tree in order to learn that for someone who is just reading the books, you would never even know the names of firestar and princess' littermates, or the father of ashfur and ferncloud, it's never talked about in the books but if they were to confirm who ashfur and ferncloud's father was in a book, then whoever they said it was would be canon to me! just like dustpelt and ravenpaw's situation, i didn't take it as canon but once it was talked about and confirmed in the books, i now take it as canon- for me and the way i read the series, the books are canon and everything else isn't, if i were to take in everything then i'd honestly get kind of overwhelemed with everything going on so just focusing on what's been said and confirmed in the books makes it easier to read warrior cats, at least for me

20:45 the most interesting thing about him is the fact his name ableist 😭
Sparrowpelt/Halftail was actually in a way a character in Blustars prophecy. He was Snowpaw/furs mentor lol

YIPPPEEEE THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN WAITING FOR !!!!!!!
I really like the designs! Also...is there an exact date for when the next SplashClan video is coming out?
thank you! as of now there's no planned date, but i promise the next video is being worked on and will be out eventually!
Actually its confirmed in Bluestars Prophecy that Dustpelt and Ravenpaw are siblings!

@@boomtowne This occurred at the end of the book, and Vicky also confirmed it when she was still an author!

Is that Genshin music I hear? 🤩
2:05 he became dust pelt like at the end of book 2😢
