You can read and watch tips and tricks.. But in the end, only thing that works is practice practice practice. Looks like you are off to a good start.
Hi Captain. Your ability to adapt and learn as you go is great but even greater is you bringing us along on the journey. Your humor and dialogue with us as viewers always puts a smile on my face a makes me chuckle. That’s why I always look forward to seeing your videos. Thanks for being the dad and family man you are. Stay safe
Thank you! Appreciate you watching
Your one of the very few who gets the like then watch. Lol. Always a great show. 👍
Hey I definitely appreciate it!
SCAFFIRE is how we pronounce it here in western n.c. have a great day.
B Newton wrote my comment for me 8 hours ago (what He/She said).
Looking good Mike. Can't wait for the test run :-)
Thank you!
Captain you have a vivid imagination and innovation, you put a smile on my face when I see your videos, thank you for making me smile and thank you for being you!!!
Thanks for watching Gayle!
That's some nice shadetree cobulation Lt. Mike. Looking forward to the test run.
Me too!
I was blessed to grow up with parents that had multiple businesses. I was running torches by the age of 8 and stick welding by 10. My weld and torch cuts at that age looked just like the stuff entry level college students do in their early 20s. Don't worry about how things look right now so long as they work. Getting better will come with experience and time. You are doing just fine :)
That's awesome Jason. I hope to have my oldest out this summer and work with her on it.
28:32 Now that looks like a good weld.
Thanks
WoW! You're raking up the views now, brother. Few are more deserving. And, this is a project that will be concerning me soon once I move out of the city and into the country here in Nevada. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Your doing a good job you will get the hang of it. Your learning more this way then have some one tell you how to. Some time pretty welds don’t hold crap
Thanks Ron!
Captain, you're doing fine learning as you go. I like your shop. Lol
I.C. welds is a really good source on using a cutting torch. His welding is very informative.
He has an awesome channel!
that torch work is lookin good. getting the hang of it i see
Thank you!
Your ability to create is amazing!! For your work bench, how about a spinning bottom lazy susan type of set up?? as creative as I get.
Interesting idea
Look at you already doing the Texas Tig.
💪
Welds are getting much more dime like and the fabrication is solid. Weld penetration is the key. Continuous welds are stronger due to the minimizing of porosity and contamination.
Thank you Sean! Starting to get a little more comfortable with the weld patterns and maintaining the puddle
It should do what needs to be done it looks good
Thanks Richard!
your welds are looking much better Mike
Thanks Ron!
Capt, looking 👍👍👍👍👍😺🤗🐺
Thanks Glenn!
Love the video Mike .
Thanks Leo!
It looks like that you are at least UA-cam certified on cutting and welding.
Lol
Some folk drill a hole when they want to do a plunge cut, it just gives the flame flow-thru.
I would fasten a piece of chain to each "lock-handle" so they don't get lost.
Stay tuned!
Looks great Mike 🇺🇲
Great design
Thank you!
Lucked out with the weather. Loved the video
Hello sir. I saw an old IH tractor there. I like old tractors.
My old Volvo T22 also has 22 hp, but it is from 1949.
Good morning Mike! Are you ready for the "Ice-pocalypse" !?!?! Lol......Luv ya's from Kentucky!!!
Hoping it's not as bad as they say! Be safe!
Good spot for a Lean To !!
We have a long term plan there
Hey Mike, it's looking good man.
Thanks Jimmy!
when you move from a stick to a mig welder you well love it then to a tig
Let the locking handle point down gravity will hold it in place...Great work!!
Then the stone would push it up
looks good but I would weld a chain to attach those pins to the drag so you can't lose them
I like the way your new toy sings for us.
Mike Tim “Cotontop” has a video that he uses a tool that allows him to cut circles with the torch. It is pretty cool
more fun than woodwork you stick bits on when you cut too much off, have fun.
Definitely liking it!
Captain a little tip with your torch. Move faster get your tip closer and turn your torch down doesn't need to be so hot. With it being so hot and moving so slow your cutting in front of your tip and its trying to weld back together behind your tip this will make your cut cleaner when you're done. Ask Man Behind the Scenes about this he can show you in person what I'm talkin about. Also 7018 is a little over kill. Yes it's really good rod but 6011 or 6010 would be better when you're still learning how to weld. Advice coming from a professional pipeline welder of 30 years
Very nice weld on that l beam ! !
Thank you!
Keep your torch tip closer to the material. The inner blue flame should just touch the material.
Hey captain build a flat or angle iron spot to rachet strap a box to put in stones some of d.p. heavy chain or 80lb salt bags for ballast
If you put your weld on the side you want to pull it , it will help with your clamping ! Welds pull towards the side you weld it ! Put a piece of sheet steel on the ground to catch the slag ! Slag on gravel , stone , cement can explode ! You're doing Great !!
Thanks!
Good job! I remember when you where going to try and buy one.
Looking good. Fasten your seat belt and go . Good video.
Thanks mike!
Hi Hi Captain good morning from Jamaica 🇯🇲🇯🇲. Let's go have some fun 😀😀
Good morning Lloyd!
@@CaptainKleeman Ha Captain. Thank you
Couldn't "get 'r done" without that torch! Not having to deal with bits and hole saws on that thick of metal is what would put a smile on my face🙂
The torch is definitely a game changer!
Cannot wait to see you use this on the property, tools are a man's best friend....
Hope it holds!
I like your design and want to see how good that it actually works .
Hopefully we will be testing it soon!
Looking good, U have some great ideas. Have fun
Thank you sir!
Think Man Behind the seens has been teaching you
He definitely been answering alot of my texts! Lol
Great video captain 👍😎✌️ 🇺🇲👌
Thanks Ken!
Good job captain😊
Keep up the good work.
Thanks!
Two suggestions, add a piece of light chain to your pins for the scarifier so you don't lose them and get a rosebud for the torch, heats a lot better. It's a work in progress just like life. Stay safe stay warm.
lookin good captain
You are a quick learner on the welding, those welds look good to me.
Thank you!
A Work Shop with a view.
That's right! And I dont even have to clean the windows
Your workshop looks like mine...good job working with what you have.
Should bevel the joint on the large piece of I beam in order to get bigger welding surface
Great job
Thanks!
It's never how good of a wealthy you are it's how good of a grinder you are
Lol very true!
Great job Captain!!
Thanks Bob!
It's a beast !!!! Will definitely dig dirt that's for sure ** it will work just fine. Might have to tweek it a bit but will do great. Now make me one lol !!!!!
Lol thanks Mark!
Get some short bungee Cords to hold the handles from vibrating loose
Another great one. The day you stop learning is the
day you don't see the sun.
Thanks Chris!
Very nice Mr. Kleeman 👌
Thank you bobby!
20 yrs ago I bought a tri square for cutting metal. The tri square for metal is 3times as big as for wood,a brass ruler and magnets for helping hold it place how you want it with a sliding piece that will go up against the metal for a square cut. The brass ruler sits 3/8" to 1/2" above your material your cutting and a cutting tip slides along it very easy. I think mine was around $80 when I bought it. It is one of my most used metal tools. I also bought a 4' one that came with 2 tri square magnets. Drag looks good.
I'll have to look that up!
A guys fabrication skills are coming along nicely.
Great job! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching Don!
You did too good of a job of designing and building the land plane. Now DP is going to borrow it to dress up his track and you'll never see it again.
Lol
Bonjour Mike tu as fait un bon travail pas facile 🤗🤓😘🇨🇵🇨🇵🇨🇵de papy Gilbert de France bisous bisous
Where can I buy a "Captain Kleeman Fabrication School" t-shirt.
I'm sure he taught me 10 years ago.
I love the work and your awesome true personality.
That could be a good t-shirt
Great job Captain, Great the way to take the time to do your projects and take the time to spend with the Kido's Great job. Where's the pup haven't seen it lately.
She was the smart one inside lol
Good video,keep doing what your doing.nice working condition.kudos 😎😎😎👍👍👍
Thanks Tom!
Get you some 6011 rods for tacking your work together it will be much easier to start than 7018
Great video as always. I really like the fact that you don't mind showing your learning process including your errors sometimes, it makes it very educationnal and authentic!
Thanks!
Keep up the great work I always enjoy your videos
Thank you!
@@CaptainKleeman you are very welcome
Just keep practicing and one of these days you'll be like Man Behind Scene!
Great ideas for a road drag. If you get a piece of material the same height as you need the torch it eliminates the jerky up and down motion and you can concentrate on cutting speed. I watch a channel called I C Weld, that guy is a master!! Lots of great tips and tricks if you watch what he does.
Keep up the great videos!
I have a JD400 with a Brantly 420 loader that I’m resurrecting, hopefully more videos to come.
ua-cam.com/video/JXHWCOQ6EtQ/v-deo.html
Yup, met him a couple years ago, great channel!
Your channel is awesome, just remember to go back and look at your old mad mud dabber welds and those were the days.
Always good to look back where we came from!
Might want to put a hitch pin to keep handle from falling off or small chain attach it
Good idea
Mike, I haven't read all of your comments, but I was wondering if the pins will vibrate out some how. Maybe you will cover that in part 2.
There is a plan! Stay tuned
Hi Mike
You are doing a real good job.
Your shop looks great. Way to go repurposing.
Ed from Chicago
Thanks Ed!
Keep up the great video
Thank you for watching!
You're the Bob Ross of homesteading🤔🤔♥️😁😁😁👑👑
Really looking great man!!
Thank you!
I would think about some kind of keeper pin for this pins that lock the tines up and down. Looks like vibrations could cause that thing to bounce around.
Maybe
Getting better all the time. I love the commentary. Thankfully we're here, so you're not talking to yourself. People might think you're crazy! 🤔
Exactly! Lol
You're a welding/fabricator genius. MBTS got nuthin on you!
Looks good. But you need choose us first LOL without us none of this would possible. Keep up the good work.
It goes both ways. Thanks for watching
Hi Captain, just like Mike your able to make just about anything!
good work
Thanks Johnny!
Hey Captain Great to see you getting the viewers involved . Hold this for me LOL
Thanks it made my day
We are all in this together lol
great video, great content, keep those video`s coming.😁
Cap’n, you gave my dentist a run for the money today… he is always telling me that another tooth needs to be drilled and filled. Or worse, come out. You put in a whole lower set without anesthetic, blinding lights and warning that I need to take out a second mortgage!
I’m gonna send him a link to this video… he can learn a thing or two!
I like the design. Thanks for the peek at the Whoppa Choppa and beauty of the 755 showing off her new tail piece!
Stay warm bud… it is 11f here with blowing snow. And it’s coming your way!
Ice is coming down now!
Yep, I’m still loving that lens for the torch/welder shots!
Thanks Jeff!
Hey Mike great work...you need to add a lean to to work under and you can add on walls later
We have some long term plans, hope to build a bigger shop after the UA-cam yacht is finished.
welds are looking good
Thanks Thomas!
Captain (Oh Captain) I have a small confession/admission. I do hope that you will not think less of me BUT, not only am I staying in the Truck I am also staying in South Florida! Not sure I could even begin to handle that weather there bud! (And don't think I will be fooled by you sneaking that nice weather back in there. I am ON to you, Bud!
Amazing what a guy can do with a welder, cutting torch and a grinder. Good job
Thank you!
Great job !!!!
Thank you
