What a fantastic tutorial! Thank you very much for your video mate. You're very knowledgeable. I have this issue with my Triton and this video have covered everything I need to know. 👍
Thanks. I replaced one of these on a 2009 MN Triton. The hardest part was getting the bottom hex bolt. A long arm ball end hex and a pair of pliers for torque ended up getting it.
It is a tricky space to get into. If you know exactly where the bolts and scv are situated, it can be done from above without removing the battery. The easiest is to access it from the wheel side where you can see what you are doing.
I rinsed it with clean diesel and used a brush to clean inside. A better solution would be to use high pressure spray with engine cleaner/paraffin, but the brush and diesel worked well.
Remeber the SCV has to be polished inside as well. Maybe try to loosen the SCV and turn it 180degrees, and fasten again. If this doesn't help, it maybe time to replace the SCV. In some instances if the SCV is replaced, you'll have to take it to a techie to re-learn the SCV in the car.
I presume any type of polish that will give a very smooth finish will work. It is a piston an has to glide effortlessly. The scour marks causes it to get stuck and then fail.
It can be a few things. The main culprit is usually the SCV, but it can also be a dirty fuel filter. If you are sure your filter is clean, do the SCV polish as described in my Video..
I polish both. The aim is to get both back to a bright polished finish to get a smooth as possible action. If you look closely , you'll see both is scoured and need polishing.

do you clean inside the valve that you polished? Because probably there was polish compound left over, what did you use to clean?

@@ShackDIY-pe4ld i ended up using a mix of 50% alcool and 50% water
That will also work. As long as you get the dirt out. Is your car running again?
