Alternate PM nominee and MP for Finschhafen Hon. Rainbo Paita, responded to PM James Marape.

Finschhafen MP and the Opposition's nominee for PM, Hon. Rainbo Paita, responded to PM James Marape's personal attacks on him as the former Finance Minister in the PANGU-led government. PM Marape had remarked, "I gave the cheque book to a young man, and they misused it, so now I'm giving it to a senior man," while welcoming new ministers to his cabinet. In response, Hon. Paita suggested that PM Marape could have made his remarks more diplomatically and gracefully, instead of resorting to personal attacks, which he deemed unbecoming of a Prime Minister and leader of his standing. Hon. Paita made his response in Goroka during the Highlands tour of the Opposition and Alternate Team.
