Thanks George, excellent explanation. I have 2 Walthers Proto NYC E 7 locos that i'm changing the boards in, going with a decoder buddy, and the 21 pin decoder...
I need to change a Scale Trains LOK Sound 5 to a tsunami 2 ? OR vise versa. I have a SP consist. Its either change 5 or 1 decoder lol. Dont see a 21 Pin on the athearn GP40-2 7677. Thanks for the video! hope all is well!
Things are going great! Lots of people using Tsunami2 and Blunami! Very exciting times! On your SP GP40-2, contact us at support@soundtraxx.com and we’ll help you with your loco install questions. From what I can see, that road number was available with sound, but also without sound but equipped with a 21P socket. Let's discuss this directly so we can be sure to get the right answer for you: (970)259-0690 or support@soundtraxx.com. Thank you!
Hi there, do you have any resources or instructions on how to operate a DC locomotive (Diesel) that has Tsunami2 equipped? I can't seem to find any instructions on how sound decoders work with analog layouts. Thanks in advance!
Yes, refer to your User's Guide. Page 69 for the Diesel User's Guide: soundtraxx.com/reference/manuals/ If you have more questions after reading through the User's Guide, contact our Support Department and they will be happy to help! (970)317-3505 or soundtraxx.com/contact/technical-support
I have a Walthers ML loco with the ESU essential 21 pin decoder and of course I don't like it but I want to put a tsunami 2 emd-2 21 pin will the motherboard be suitable for the Tsunami or should I just replace it entirely?
I think the 21-pin decoder should just sea out easily. So, yes, for EMD-2 885023. I hope this helps. soundtraxx.com/products/tsunami2-digital-sound-decoders/tsu-21pnem/

Are you guys going to be making the mother boards for the 21PNEM?
This is not something we plan to do, right now at least.

the speaker connects to the Tsunami 2, or to the motherboard?
To the mother board in most cases.
