My parents bought grounding mats to sleep on and didn’t notice any changes with them. Huberman talks about it a little. Says that there aren’t any good studies and most of the reported benefits may come from just being outside in nature while grounding for which there’s plenty of evidence indicating health benefits.
Got my first Tacoma because of YOU ive had it for 3 months every weekend i try to take it out to go camping dont have a full overland set up but ive got some things in the works Love the Vids Family over UA-cam
By far my favorite series on UA-cam, I did actually get my Tacoma because of these videos! I think a video about the detail to remove the pinstripes would be nice, and the "price of pinstriping" compared to investing into a wrap and the cost of wrapping. Kinda used as showing people the value in a wrap compared to the remediation.
Your intuition was right on grounding, I wouldn't waste your time/money. The only grounding anyone really needs is mentally grounding and you're in nature so much you've got that nailed 👍
Hey Mike. I know you said you might talk about the finances of building your house. I’d be really interested in hearing some of the financing. No need for specifics, but maybe some lessons learned.
Love the content. Love the truck. Counting down the days till I can get mine. But damn man the gum smacking! 😂 Next video better have a Hi Chew sponsorship
I love your videos and has gotten me into truck camping and finding trails near me to explore. Being in NH there isn't much but there is some! A video I would love to see is a weekender camper must haves In NH there isn't really a place to go overlanding so there's a lot I don't need and I feel like I have a lot of the stuff I would need to go camp and hike for a weekend and my truck is set up pretty good suspension wise to concur some trails but I'd like to see what your take on the basics would be
Yeah you definitely don’t need much to get out there and have a good time. The trails you’re trying to do, and the duration that you’re trying to do them, will dictate what you need beyond the basics.
@@LastLineOfDefense and dont forget my wallet only allows me to do so much! lol if you ever find yourself in New Hampshire reach out I would love the opportunity to meet you and show the area! I'm certainly a gear junkie but I'm trying to stay realistic which is hard haha
Maybe a silly question, but does a vinyl wrap really help with the pinstriping? If a branch is strong enough to scratch through the paint wouldn’t it just tear the vinyl and scratch anyway? 🤷♂️
Good questions honestly. In this scenario - even though I did get some permanent pin stripes, they weren’t strong enough that I think they would penetrate a wrap. They would definitely scratch the wrap, but not scratch all the way through it, if that makes sense. A wrap wouldn’t protect from like scraping up against a rock, but for most branches on trails like that - it would.
A lot of the time I go camping, I bring a jetboil, some water, and a bag of food. I don’t camp to spend half the time making food - I’ll only mess around with food if someone else is into it, or if I’m bringing family, or there’s some other reason to.
Real science, like actual studying science the human body is on a different frequency than the earth, and our physical body does not resonate with the tones of the earth. So "grounding" is a 100% placebo effect.
Mike please don’t waste money on a grounding mat or pad or whatever is out there. It is a waste of money. I am an electrician and if you are plugging into the ground / grounding spot in your receptical you are not doing anything. You are better off just standing bare foot on the actual ground.
grounding is BS just like yoga and all that other mystic nonsense. what's next?... are you gonna tell me that my brain works a certain way because of when I was born?... I must have missed the verse that says anything about any of that $#!+
I have the original faded paint on my 85 FJ60 and I still cringe going through the brush. Great vid. Thanks. My son bought me a grounding mat for my neuropathy. Not sure if It works but afraid to stop in case it does. Ha
Stopped watching Clay's channel when he started adding fake animal noises to his videos to create drama. Used to be the best Overlanding channel out there. Don't sweat the scratches, if you get them fixed you'll just be putting new ones on there. Next time get some PPF on there before you hit the trail!
Just walk around out side in your bare feet is the best just make sure it is not where you dog goes to the bathroom. I feel the difference just walking outside with out shoes on or socks.
I’ve experimented with grounding and I’ve definitely felt a difference after a week or so of daily grounding. I just stood outside barefoot when taking my dog out every morning. Energy levels seemed slightly better, and just overall mood. I can’t speak on medical benefits but even if it’s placebo, I’d say it’s worth it.
Awesome to see XO along for this one. Those guys do trips I only dream of. You mentioned interest in more homestead videos, and I'm super interested to see what your plans are and it would be cool to follow along for the projects you're working on. Keep up the steller videos Mike, take care.
Definitely wanna see more homestead stuff on the channel.
It was awesome camping for a night! We need to do it again soon! Happy to help with the drone footage!
Was a good time - we’ll do it again for sure!
Excelent video! Love the Xoverland collaboration! Would like to see more homestead/house update videos when you have the time.
Hey! they're back from Africa. Great series! Good to see you both on this channel.

Like every Weekenderlander, looks like it was a good time. Mad jealous.
Woooo another long one! Always the best!

Awesome dude - getting out there is the best!
Ground every morning with my dog for 15 minutes. We both love it

I do love some good ol homestead videos
Heck yeah buddy!

I second this
I'd enjoy some homestead stuff on the channel in addition to the offloading content.
Love the content. Love the truck. Counting down the days till I can get mine.

Tundra looked like a baby tank on that tight trail….😂

👍homesteading 👍detailer👍💪pew pew! 🇺🇸
We feel your pinstripe-pain. So many of us use our dailies for fun too and those first scratches just hurt! Congrats on the ever growing family!
They definitely hurt on a daily, or any newer vehicle.
Time for a wrap??
I have some light pin striping, how can I buff it out or fix it?
My Tacoma got wrecked with stripes, ended up bed lining the entire truck and i love it
Does Xpedition overland guys prefer the older gen or the new gen tacoma for their main rig?
I been hearing a lot about recalls and engine failures with the tundras have you had any issues?
Still waiting for the Golf R video
Haha coming, thanks for the reminder!

Wet sand them out , you might get it back to 90 percent
i understand the peak sponsorship but but what is the point of all that gear if you are going to eat freeze dried meals over half the time
A lot of the time I go camping, I bring a jetboil, some water, and a bag of food. I don’t camp to spend half the time making food - I’ll only mess around with food if someone else is into it, or if I’m bringing family, or there’s some other reason to.
I'm with you on that, I'd be eating steak if I had a fridge etc.
Remember that time when Mike said "yeah this truck likely wont see much off road..." hahaha
Haha I still think it won’t see much compared to the Tacoma!
Pinstriping is good battle scars to show off Shows people you really do go off road
What kind of glasses are you wearing? Asking for a friend lol
These guys - amzn.to/3L2LIfb
LLOD chicken pimp! alohaz
15:18 I see a wrap in your future.
You care a little 😂😂😂
Just a tad…

I'm right there with you on the pinstripes. A trail rig is one thing, but a brand new, nice daily hurts your heart.
Good to see you hitting a trail man
Yeah, haven’t been doing enough lately… Hope life has been good to you!
I love walking barefoot when conditions permit. I don't know about grounding mats... just go outside and feel the ground for free.
Dude bring back the 3rd Gen Tacoma
Unfortunately it’s up for sale. I wish he could keep it. It is the mascot/‘aumakua/genesis of his channel since he stopped the pew content
Peepeepoopoo
Any plans to go to overland East?
Exactly. No plans for East, but planning on mountain west.
I'd love to see more homestead stuff!!
I have the original faded paint on my 85 FJ60 and I still cringe going through the brush. Great vid. Thanks. My son bought me a grounding mat for my neuropathy. Not sure if It works but afraid to stop in case it does. Ha
What are your thoughts on color matched bed liner sprayed over the truck?
Never been a fan of bedliner for paint - unless it’s just a straight up trail rig that you’re planning to destroy.
Hell yea brotherrrrr
Definitely would like to see some homesteading content!!
More homesteading for sure!

Yes, yes on Patriot camper
Def some homestead stuff and I so enjoy the weekend lander series. Keep em coming
You're allowed to be bummed about the pin stripes bro. These rigs are expensive, most of us get it. Good video!
I live in Honolulu Hawai’i so I go barefoot everyday
Just walk around out side in your bare feet is the best just make sure it is not where you dog goes to the bathroom. I feel the difference just walking outside with out shoes on or socks.
Homesteading and barn stuff... let's see that
❤ ur vids keep em comin bro!👌🏼😎
What kind of drone is that.
So cool you hanging with XOverland. Been watching their epic episodes for a while now. You should have went to South Africa with them.
It was a little out of the way
@@LastLineOfDefense ha ha, you had a few things going on as well 😄. House, Baby, etc.

More homesteading content. I'm building and planning my homestead. Love to see what you are doing. Thanks for the content.
The first pinstripes always hurt the most, especially on a brand new new. Homestead stufffff 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Yes update on pin striping it’s useful to know if they are able to be removed so I know how concerned to be with personal rig thanks
I always appreciate the weekenderlander content! Definitely my favorite aspect of all the great content you do.
Definitely do some homestead content! Maybe a day in the life of you on the homestead! Would be interesting. Thanks for the content Mike!
Adding homesteading would be cool. Great content!
I told you to talk to Clay about whether or not to get a trailer. Glad to see you took my advice! 🤣
How about a separate channel? Last Line of DA Fence?
We want all the homesteading content!
Those are some Sik drone/air shots at the water crossings!
Love the collab! Hope you’ve been well bro 😎
I love the Mountain House meals.
