The goal at 6 min, by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, (Sweden) was his fourth in that game against England. He scored all the goals and we beat England with 4-2. That evening was magical. 😊 You really should react to Impossible goals and skills by Zlatan.
05:53 the Curve is from spin, this shot is using the instep of the foot, you basically "wrap" your foot around the ball as you strike it, giving it side spin 07:25 this one is with the outside of the foot so it curves the opposite way, and with the outside you generate even more curve...but its also harder to do (apparently, but I find it easier myself) The seems have SOME impact but its more about the spin. There is however 1 type of shot that really uses seems, you hit the back with thetop of the Arch of your foot (right on the laces) , the bottome of the ball deforms and then the seems come into play, this is curving the ball WITHOUT spin, you will see this on free kicks some times, and you can tell partly from how they strike the ball with their foot, but also in slow mo replay, the ball does not spin at all, unlike the other 2 (more common) examples, and sometimes this will make the ball move one way and then the other, VERY hard to stop. & I curve pool balls every day lool it works in the same way (without ball deformation)
The one move is called a rabona (I don't think you saw it)- the player actually swings their leg round the back of their standing leg to kick the ball. Some players try this and look very silly 'cause they just trip themselves over.
Even for the pros, the curve is really hard to get. You have to kick the ball the right way, with the right amount of power. When I was playing football with my mates, I'd always try to curve the ball. Needless to say, I failed 15/20. Also, the last goal....man, it was a thing of beauty. This goal belongs to Roberto Carlos - a Brazilian defender. He was known as a free kick specialist. I think at one point, he held the record for the speed of his shot. If I remember correctly, it was something like 150 km/h.
Bro you literally just use the inside or outside of your foot, curving a ball is pretty easy especially for a pro what you on about? You sure you've played football before because it don't sound like it 😏
@@allow-itman9749 Dude, you're talking out of your ass. Those low level curvs we do when we play with our mates are never going to compare. Pros train for years to master ball curving to an amazing state.
The curve of the ball is associated to something called the "magnus force". It basically comes down to kicking the ball in a certain way to make it spin and thus curve through the air. Very easy to do, very difficult to perfect. In fact it's so easy to do it will often happen even when you don't want it to. If your balance is off as you kick the ball it will most likely result in the ball spinning as it leaves your boot and will fly off target. You'll often see players leaning to one side as they strike the ball in order to apply curve on purpose, but it also comes down to the "shape" of your boot as you make contact, how you follow through and where on the ball the initial point of contact was made. Once you understand how each one of these needs to be delicately balanced to pull off the perfect shot, you just appreciate them that much more!
If you hit the ball inside or outside of your foot then it has one or the other way curve. Its not that hard to get the curve, but its hard to get the ball end up where you want .
To achieve a curl they kick the extreme side of the ball with the extreme side of their foot, the ball then spins as it's passing through the air..if you imagine the air (as it is) as being made up of particles, you can understand that the ball is hitting the particles as it's traveling through. The spin makes the ball essentially 'buffet' the air particles in the same way as a pool ball 'buffets' the baize of a pool table if it has extreme spin. In both cases the ball is 'biting' the 'surface' and 'wants' to go in an opposite/different direction to that which it would naturally go if there were no spin. So if a ball is spinning heavily in a clockwise rotation, it will curl to the right from the perspective of the kicker, because the air is especially resistant to it passing through in a straight line when the ball has enough forward momentum...it's the resistance. Think of the extra resistance you feel when you increase the speed of your hand as you pass it through water, or even air if you do it fast enough. If any of that makes ANY sense! lol
The more spin you put on the ball and the placement you hit it, that's the direction it will curve. Just like your good lady says, They do the same in pool/billiards.
hello I'm new to the channel, I would like to recommend two players among my favorites, one was a magician with the ball, the other was one of the best defenders in the world: Ronaldinho, Paolo Maldini
#1 The harder and more to the side you kick a ball the more it'll curve. #2 No you don't need to be flexible to kick it with your heal. You just got to get a feel for the ball, in time your body makes decisions for you.
If your body hangs over the ball, it will mostly stay down. If you hang back it will mainly go up, depending how your foot touches the ball. Every part of the foot makes the ball turn (or not). Also the other foot is import, it's always next to the ball while shooting. Balance. You don't wake up one day, and can do that. Years of practice, since your a toddler. You can even touch it, and make the ball spin backwards.
Been said already but curve comes from degrees of hitting the ball off centre. The panels and stitching you were correct with, these enhance and exaggerate once the ball is hit off centre. Air flow off the stitching pushes the ball further from true
It's simple science. Hit a ball on the side, and it will go the opposite direction. Hit a ball on the top, and it will spin forwards or head downwards. Hit a ball on the bottom, and it will spin backwards or head upwards.
You curve the ball by hitting it off centre ......hit the right side of the ball and it will curve right to left, hit the left side and it will curve left to right. Basically you're putting spin on the ball.
It takes perfect ball striking technique to curve a football that much. It obviously helps if the ball is spinning fast as you strike it. If you practise enough you can time it spot on by gauging the amount of spin. Practising a curve ball. But with your leg and foot instead of your arm and hand.
You have to impart spin to the ball with the foot, you wrap your inner heel around the outer edge of the ball or slice across it, also you have to shape your body from right to left of vice versa, it's all timing and practice after that, the best exponent in many a year is David Beckham, watch how he wraps his foot around the ball but with power and slice..
to curve a football you hit one side of it causing a spin, its the spin that curves it, ive scored a five a side penalty doing this aimed at right side of goal and hit the right side of the ball causing a spin , at first the power takes it stright but as the power goes the spin takes over and it curved left, keeper dived the wrong way (the way it initially travelled till the spin kicked in)
the force that makes ball curve is the same that make plane wings lift - the side that is muving forward faster generates more lifting forse to the side.
You can use the shoulder. A hand ball is when your arm leaves the body in an un natural position ie, covering your face or trying to deflect. The curve of the ball comes from both skill and the players shoes. The shoes in some cases have fins or ribs that can deflect, but it's also about where your foot comes into contact with the ball. Some is luck and some is absolute skill. Check out vids with Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi who are undoubtedly (even tho they're not my teams players) are the best at this.
Legit question.. You said you cant get a hockey puck to spin like that. Now is that by trying? We don't really have Hockey here and I've never tried it on a rink so i'm wondering if a puc (in training most likely) comes at you and a slow rate and you skim it with the stick, could you not make it spin? If you could, would it be harder the faster they come at you? (I imagine they're faster than a soccer ball). I'm just legit asking if anyone knows.
09:02 that one was accidental, for sure, the one before was deliberate but that time he tried to play it into his own path and run on to it and shoot, he over hit it so much it became a shot, he was quite lucky, still pretty cool though. How? well I started playing team football when I was 4/5 and kicking a ball as soon as I could walk. I would play 4-6 hours a day , every day as a kid, most. So many of us start this early, that if you don't get into it by 6/7 years old....you probably are not gong to make it as a Pro (and even if you do start that young....you STILL probably wont make it as a Pro, sometimes even if you have the natural talent) Its the same in the rest of Europe (im in UK) and in South America , and increasingly Africa and Asia too
It's not actually that difficult to curve a football with a kick. You guys could do it with 1 day of practice, possibly 10 minutes if you have good leg strength. It's only difficult to curve it so powerfully, efficiently and precisely.
cant curve a pool-ball? i am mediocre at best. i can make it hit the sidewall down a straight, without tuching anything else, atleast twice without warmup brad. and curve a footie-ball? inside vs outside. its abit like. canookie. lets see... curling! eighter you spin it, or it decides spin for ya...

@@bradlucy I meant I re-subbed yesterday and today again I was unsubbed. Probably gonna be unsubbed again tomorrow 😑 But like you said; not giving up, having way to much fun watching the Canadian Cheech & Chong 😂
You can curve a pool ball and yes it's done exactly the same way. Now go tell her she's right again lol.
Was gonna say the same thing 😂, its just spin.
Its more obvious in golf when you think of the way that ball curves off if you slice it

To control the curve of the ball's trajectory, the hitting techniques of the billiard ball are applied.
Hi B&L, Love your reaction especially when Lucy says 'Because they're young & flexible' Brad just sighs! Cheers Jim, UK X

Dogging has a very different meaning in the UK. You probably don't want to search it (or you may?).
Yes, we learned that on a Peter Kay car share episode lol
now you have an inkling as to why football is the most popular sport on the planet

You should see bowlers curving a ball down a 10-pin lane...
You do know what dogging is, right? I know it's a British English slang, wondering if it's used in Canada as well...
Yes, we learned that from a Peter Kay Car Share episode. We found out Canada has a website for Doggers to meet lol
