Excellent podcast today. I can relate to my experience of driving all these years. I agree that that alone time commuting is a lost necessity I miss when I work-for-home.

39:00 about. You can park the mind, that's the whole point of meditation, and there are meditations that involve silencing thought entirely. But your point still stands, because this something you have to train yourself to do that is much more difficult than parking a car.

This video makes me wish we still had our (historical problematic) train system (referring to the AI car section)

Who is responsible for elevator operation when things go wrong? I think it has similar aspects to automated driving.

The fault with Virilo's analysis is that speed has been around for more than four thousand years since man domesticated the horse and invented the chariot. The motor vehicle was simply the replacement of the independent travel provided by the singular riden horse or horse drawn carriage, cart or buggy. Things have only sped up since the dawn of the age of fossil fuels.

I will force my "riding motorbike with 100 km/h all the time" friend to watch this.
