Got a call to hurry and remove a swarm of bees low hanging over a driveway before the kids got out of school. I rushed over and snagged them and the kids never even saw them. Dirt Rooster just keeping the world safe because it's what I do. lol
What a great swarm and in an easy place to get to! These bees are now set up at a friend's house for her garden and getting more love and attention than any other bees in the state probably.
I think the mailman achieved ludicrous speed
LOL
balls of steeel
:D
He's gone plaid
May the swartz bee with u
Best. Movie. Ever.
Nice work man. I'm glad this woman called you rather than just killing them. You should drop her off some honey for being smart about the situation.
She made the right call. Free honey? Can't give out all my secrets. ;)
What is it they say about mail men in the states...come rain, come snow, come hail, come............ come bees!!!!! Hell no!!!!!! Thats not in the job description! !!!
tiredmummy 😂
In defence of the poor mailman that missed the two boxes, by regulations, mailmen are required to avoid all hazardous conditions and protect the mail. The mailman did his duty by avoiding the swarming bees, but more importantly, by avoiding the crazy bee guy trying to catch the bees. You did notice that he peeled out leaving the scene?
Their creed mentions. snow, rain, heat or darkness. Says nothing about bees.
Trust me, in the fine, fine print under the creed," Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds" it says: " or anything that is scary to the mailman be it man or beast, then it's ok to skip some mailboxes."
Oh yea, don't forget, I had 27 years delivering mail.
Nothing scary? lol
I didn't know you were a mail carrier.
U are my first Bee channel. I also subscribed to that smiling laughing guy u are always advertising for. I love your content! Humble and caring! Two virtues that are rare these days my friend. I just wanted to say I love u and your content and keep ur family in my prayers.
You're the best! Thanks for the sub.
Hobby beekeeping is a way of life and hindsight is 20/20!
+Steve Lawson Every time. ;)
lol they them classy bees. love your work bruh. thanks
+Permaculture Homestead They make that super refined honey.
Through rain or snow or sleet or hail.... but apparently not through honeybees.
the best tool to collect bees. it involves just a stick, and a bucket... well, ain't that just plain creativity!
*only on this channel will you get that!*
keep up your great work, bud.
Thanks for the views Y'all.
And the mailman?! HILARIOUS! Guess he said "ain't nobody got time for bees!" Lol
+Jd Horton Not taDayy!
It's was nice to see them bees fanning for the other to come lol
They were on the job. :)
LOL I was laughing so hard with the mailman scene that I almost choked on the dinner I was eating.
+MIgardener | Simple Organic Gardening & Sustainable Living same
+MIgardener | Simple Organic Gardening & Sustainable Living Haha! He sat over there studying me for a minute before he left.
lol mailmans all oh hell nah...drive drive
MIgardener - Me too!
I know right! What happened to nor rain nor sleet nor snow nor darkness of night or nor bees will stop the US Mail xD
That mixers load will harden before he gets to the jobsite. Your dirt bikes trumped my JC Higgins.
+MyHollowpoint Two free bags of concrete any time you want them. Never opened and only slightly dampened. LOL
A JC Higgins would be worth some money these days. I pity you riding one of those in your childhood. They weighed as much as a milk truck.
Am i the only that saw that the swarms look like a Bear???
The mail must go on .... by you, always the next day. Love the fact you don't use bad lanugo so my son can see this bee stuff, and you have a great personality we would get along good, I warped too.
Man you are good!!! With a swarm that size I'd have gotten stung at least 20 times and that's wearing my suit. Finally had some time to watch some videos. I liked the editing job, switching back and forth looks good. I think I'll steal that. Keep 'em coming brother.
You have to go without deodorant for two days and they'll leave you alone. ;) You can steal it. I stole it from someone else.
I'm in Canada and we had 14 bee hives when I was a kid. I'm super paranoid about wasps etc...but not honey bees. If it's a nice sunny day you can work with em without any protection - as you know. Once in a while I'd get stung in my clothing and you could actually smell the pheromones from the bee that stung you. Also swarms like the one you dealt with aren't actually that dangerous. One time I accidently walked within a couple yards of one in my neighbourhood and they didn't react at all.
Yeah, I only got one sting on this one. You can see me picking it off my arm.
The giant!😂
Man you definitely know what and how to get those bees to come to that box
Nice work! Looked like pretty day for capture! Thanks for taking us along! ;-)
+Jd Horton Thanks for watching
Good video, hope to get a few more of those calls soon.
+Derek Fisher Swarm calls are slowing way down around here.
I know nothing about bees or beekeeping, but I'll be dammed if I don't love the heck out of your videos. good work.
+Josh G Haaha! Thanks Josh.
I JUST LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!
I envy your job, Sir.
:)
You've got balls sir
I think that mailman was worried about an airdrop! lol
+Unusual Bee Works I will agree with you there.
"There it was. Over by the d-maters. Nekid as a jaybird. I screamed 'Don't look, Ethel!' but it was too late." Good vid, as always. I was beginning to wonder if you were done posting, as we haven't heard from you, in a while.
+Rich Booth Don't worry about Ethel. Her eye sight is failin. She didn't see nuthin. lol
Been trying to get one a week in. Might do two this week if I can make the time.
+628DirtRooster Hope you got the reference to "Ethel". Glad to hear you have new videos coming. Wasn't sure if you were renewed for a new season. Best to you and Wilfred.
Rich. Dirtrooster may be too young for your "Ethel" comment. That was the early 70s!
However, even though I understood the Ethel reference, I didn't follow the significance to this video. Enlighten us please!
Boogety-boogety!
I was born in 1990, so I don't think I get the Ethel joke, but I do know some Ray Stevens when I read it. Grew up on that man's music.
has anyone else noticed at 0:40 that looks like a bear cub in the tree?
+B Com Reading that comment, then seeing "stun on the nose" had me thinking of a scene between two bears. "Damnit, they stung me on the nose." "Well brother, dont stick it in the hive and they wont."
I was thinking the swarm looked like a tree sloth.
Looked like a teddy bear.
If bears want the honey they have to *bee* the honey.
... I'll let myself out.
Ursus Arctos Hu lol
Pretty part of the world.
Dang rooster from the title I thought some kids got seriously hurt!
LOL maybe a little click baitish but it was true.
I hope your hives will be OK after the nasty storms that blown through here and it's on its way there as I speak you can see my latest video I hope before it blows through there depending on where in Mississippi you are👌👍😁😁😁
+Landaux Oh we ready! ;)
"Speed limits 35....*looks at dash* were doin 18" lmao and my personal favorite *at mail lady * "wait...there's two more mailboxes"
Hope there wasn't any time sensitive mail they needed.
Thought for sure that as soon as you snipped the branch the other branches were going to slap the swarm on the way up.... that would not have been good at all.
Good vid as always
+Papa's Place I expected them to rip me a new one when they dropped but it went pretty well.
2:15 don't let go!
I was concerned the branch was going to break leaving you with a bee hat..lol but hey it was done just in the nick of time and saved the kids from making that hey guys watch this.
+rchopp Ha! I thought I was gonna have a shirt full of bees when it dropped.
Haha- that mailman was like "Uh uh- not today Satan! Not today!"
Aaand I'm out...
Rosie Miner Bianca Del Rio fan?
For all you who need a laugh, turn on the closed captioning and watch the opening.
finally some real music on the outro
I have been watching you for a little bit now. I can say this is cool stuff I would like to try it but I have no idea of any one in my area that keeps bees I live in new York and much colder up here
+Kenneth Colton Look up beekeeping clubs and beekeeping association for New York or Empire State.
What part of south Mississippi, you got those bees? I grew up in Gulfport and is looking to move back to Mississippi.
Gulfport and Hattiesburg
You put the cows in the barn!
Aha. 2:45
That awkward moment when you realize that it's a three-hand job.
Nice work.
Never any help around when you need it.
Did you put that piece of tape over the tailgate gap as a bridge because they were having trouble flying over the gap?
Haha yeah, I was trying to make it easy for them but they didn't appreciate the gesture.
Occasionally I hear what sounds to me like "Drone comb" Do the girls make a special size comb for the boy babies?--
or are you saying "drawn comb"-- like as opposed to foundation?
I really enjoy your videos-- keep up the good work!
+628 DirtRooster First of all I about pissed myself laughing when that mailman FLEW by and said the hell with their mail I'll give it to them them tomorrow lol...anyways to restart my comment, what happens to the bees you left there the ones you said was flying around and confused? It's obvious you got the queen so I'll not ask that one but to close just in my opinion you've got the best opening when you say where beekeeping is a way of life...but I can't type the style you say it in....but I do love your show and would love to come see your collection of honeybees but THATS never gonna happen because I'm so allergic to bees that one would send me to meet my maker and I don't think there's a suit made that could protect me 100%.... but in closing I admire you and your kind that can handle bees and do bee keeping for the honey and I'll venture to say your love of bees.....thanks for such great videos
Thanks so much for watching. The ones that get left behind will usually find a spot and just hang around until they die off over a week or some. Some people think they return to the mother hive if they get lost but they do not.
he opted to not mail
+Charles P Mailman stopped by FedEx and asked them to drop it of. 😂
Funny how the mailman can choose not deliver some days, I've wondered about it, lol.
Nice
Why do they fan at the entrance like that?
Spreading a pheromone to tell everyone where to come.
what makes the bees swarm like that?
They outgrow their space
Can the queen bee fly?
Yes but not very well if she has been laying eggs recently.
Come back mailman! I need my mail!
LOL Speaking of mail, you get that honey?
"Some of these frames are nasty..." Does dirtrooster own ANY frames but nasty ones! :-)))))
I take all my new ones and dip them in melted trash for consistency.
I actually had a thought about using "pristine-challenged" frames. Not actually being an apiarist myself, I could be "all wet" but here is my thought. Is it possible that the bees from a capture when introduced to a box with less-than-immaculate, or in other words, "Randy" frames become more likely to set in, less likely to abandon the new box BECAUSE they sense a need to get busy cleaning up? Kind of a re-direct? A little counter-intuitive, but just a thought. If so, then you have a compelling REASON for putting in a frame that needs work.
So THAT is how you do it. And here all along I thought that you had a beetle/moth farm!
I think they stay with the older frames more for the scent.
+628DirtRooster Hey man, I got a question. The so called "new" frames you are using, those are man made right? And are those made of wax aswell? Love your vids man :)
+x Otaku Wax coated plastic foundations
👍👍👍👍💯
Should have passed that truck rooster!!!
anyone know waht hurts more bees or fire ants?
One bee hurts more than one fire ant.
Did you tell her don’t bother them and they won’t bother you
I told her don't ever look them in the eye. ;)
what state is this
MS
Yo
What's the name of the song at the end?
I'm looking for a similar song for over 3 years now.
This was edited on a computer I'm not using much any more. I have a bunch of music on it so it may take me a while to find it but send me a reminder email at 628rooster@gmail.com and I'll see if I can find it. Won't be back home until the middle of next week.
Don't bother sir! I will eventually find it :)
Oh and you juste earned one more sub.
Love the bee videos.
Many thanks
OMG!!!!!
That is the song! Thanks sir!
Bruhh, thats a big whale
That was great. The mailman was having none of that. I almost heard tires squealing XD
+Honey Bee Asian Oh I wish. If I had thought of it I could have added a tire squealing sound effect. haha
628DirtRooster that would have been great
I like bee's I was outside petting a few bee's that were pollinating the flowers they don't appear to be assholes like wasp's are.
Like little lap dogs.
How does one pet a bee?
@@asylvis3311 very carefully lol
"classy bees" You had me rolling on that. Another good catch, and glad you showed the girls fanning. It is quite a thing to watch once they find their safe spot. Damn that is a pretty nice place. They must have been "golden" Italian bees hrhr.
+TheMontanaDave Mafia bees. Got all the money/honey.
628DirtRooster That was exactly my thought. Well you got them now. Hopefully they aren't too "High Maintenance"
They are going to want a Granite Stone sided box, with a copper roof.
TheMontanaDave They're gonna have to settle for plywood and oops paint. :)
Your movie making skills are getting better and better
+Kevin Thomas Still trying to figure out Premiere Pro. Thanks though.
Those bees were singing" Moving On Up" till they saw your box roll up, and said dam, back to the ghetto. lol
The man always tryina keep a bee down.
yukonjeffimagery 😂😂😂
Very little climate change has occurred over the past 25 years. Virtually none.
Mark I’m guessing you’re indoctrinated, the climate is changing but not as drastic as you think....by 2100 temperatures will be 1.5 to 4 degrees warmer.
If we got rid of all technology on earth we would only stop .3 of this....let’s find a solution that makes sense lmao.
Mark and instead of crying about plastic straws or CO2 how about California, San Francisco, Baltimore, Chicago, New York, Detroit, Atlanta ect clean up their homeless and the feces and drugs they leave behind that destroy the environment. Greta thunburg should head to China, India, and then EVERY COUNTRY IN AFRICA...and tell them no fossil fuels for you...
The left is full of hypocrisy and double standards, they don’t care about the environment they’re the elite.
Yes sir..... I'm new to bee keeping, I've learned a lot from your videos
Ok DirtRooster, That part when you said in your video, "Wait, there's two more mail boxes." I about spit out my drink due to laughing. LMFAO Bro. That was funny as heck
makes me wanna get bees, then I remember there's like three schools and a park behind my place
+Rose Hannah They will keep the kids out of your yard. :)
there's a large fence between the places and my backyard
Man how do you get stung and not say a stream of bad words ? They just fly out of my mouth before I know it . LOL
New sub here. That was really interesting and I sure wish you were in my neck of the south (central FL)! Your sense of humor cracked me up. That postman was gone g.o.n.e. Gone! lol Your love for the girls shows and so enjoy watching. Hope your friend gets some "classy honey" to go with those "classy bees" haha
+usakiwi5222 Glad you found us. :)
so happy I stumbled across your channel and has got me seriously thinking about keeping bee's.
+sumochop360 Get you some
Almost look like a shadow of a little baby bear hanging from the tree
This is why I love honey bees. They seem scary but they’re so chill. Destroy our entire nest? No big deal! We’ll just move into your box!
Closest I’ve ever seen a mail truck to burning rubber 🤣
When I first saw the swarm, I thought it was a sloth lol
+Propper Gentleman Does kind of look like that.
Easy on the top heavy truck driver please. Lol
What are those bees doing exactly at that entrance at 09:15 ?
Lmao "wait, they's two more mailboxes!" That killed me. 😂😂😂
Too damn funny... and these replies are just about as good
Wish I had neighbors like that 😂
Classy honey, hahaha!! 😂 I don't care how long you've been doing this, or how many times you've been stung, you can't tell me you're used to it. I'm allergic, but I know what it feels like to get stung. Its a bitch! I've been plucking my eyebrows for 35 years, but it still freaking hurts every time! 😫🐝🐝
😂😂the mailman saw them and you and was probably like nope just nope.
Or your vehicle was blocking them, if that's the case f* them then.
They need to man up and get some balls
I remember as a kid myself being taken down by a few swarms of wasps you don't see them, next thing you know you got 250 of them surrounding you and chasing you a quarter of a mile. And you freaking out the entire time not knowing what the hell's going on but you're getting stung to shit. And all of your friends are running far away from you and tell you to stay the hell away from him as they can clearly see the Swarm following me. It's no fun to be a victim of a wasp swarm.
I use a pole saw, hook the branch and give it a pull.
Done that a few times. Works pretty good.
Mailman: Neither rain, nor snow, nor...blah, blah, blah...but BEES?? Not in my union contract, son!! LOL
Burning rubber out of there. :)
Mailbox was blocked.
You are one Comedian Rooster!!!!
When you work for the Post Office and you get stung by a bee it is considered a "at-fault" accident and you can actually be disciplined and/ or terminated for it.
Any idea where I can get some beginners bee keeping info here in SW Florda, in the Fort Myers, area? Your videos are fantastic !!
Brilliant, nice work! That mailman wasn't interested in sayin hi tho.
~ Loved the lady's accent (Metairie, LA, Where ya at dawlin' accent), as well as hearing you say "I'm fixing to." I enjoy the regional eccentricities in your videos, as much as the complexities of the hives aNd the creative ways you have with dealing with bees and wasps. Thanks ~ Cheers, DAVEDJ ~
Metairie, where everyone calls you baby. Hey baby how can I help you?
You get a like for saying"Smashing" like that dude from the Wild Thornberrys
Not tryna be rude but she talks just like you lol, my grandpa is from Oklahoma an he is hard to understand sometimes.
could use a Bag then cut the branch throw them on ice so they stay cool and box them somewhere else. neber seen a bk use ice before. Likwid nitrogen then let them thaw out.
5:30 that's what i was thinking, "the dude needs a step ladder or the back of his truck"
2:34 :: that reminds me of picking fruit :: pulling a tree branch down to within reach.
don't mind watching him catch the swarm but don't need to see the drive there could write a good episode of days of our lives
I F***ing love youre channel bro keep it up youre a hero
Hey Dirt., did you intentionally change your settings ? I have to search your uploads now or i get a blank screen when i log to your channel. I use to get all your recent and past stuff when i logged to you. What's Up ? 0.O
+Smokeydabee Charles Coleman Had people complaining that every time I gave someone a thumbs up it would send them a notification. I changed some privacy settings but I still don't know if my setting are correct.
