- Hey guys so Retro and I collabed this time. We've been really good friends for about a year and we've been thinking of doing something music together for such a long time and now I'm really happy to say we finally did it! This is Amalgam, a pretty difficult song to remix, no doubt but we focused more on sound design more than anything else since melodies and such didn't seem to be the main focus of the original. Also it's pretty spoopy so halloween themed upload heck yeah! Anyway I hope you all enjoy this as much as we've enjoyed making this! ^^

Ironically, this is one of the only two amalgamates that DON’T have amalgam as their theme

I love the suspense sound in between 0:11 and 0:21, and then the Fax Machine/Glitch sounds following that. I also like how you stuck to the original sounds in the beginning. It really captures the scattered, spooky vibe.

Coming back to this and I cannot explain how much Nostalgia this brings me, quarantine was amazing. It wasn’t the time that I found out about Undertale but the time I had so much time to myself and I got into Undertale and it’s AUs heavily and Essentially having a whole Undertale phase (which I enjoyed don’t get me wrong). There was nothing like getting off from Online school and then playing some Roblox Undertale games, that was the life, specifically Undertale Last Corridor, Test Place, and Undertale Judgement Day. There were some other games too, but I forgot about those. But those were the way to go. Also AU Content like Glitchtale was a banger back then, I was always rooting for Betty lmao
I remember when I finally got my hands on Undertale in Xbox Game Pass back in mid 2021 and ran a True pacifist route, I legit shed some tears because that is some strong stuff, the ost, the characters, the fact that you could have killed everyone but you didn’t, and the credits. Even though I knew how everything played out, I felt like I was in the moment, for the Omega Flowey fight, I struggled alot with Asgore and The Asriel fight and his ost. Phenomenal game, thank you Toby.
This really brings me back. Sixbones was my go-to back in 2020 Last Corridor, he was like the best character and that part at 0:01 just floods back memories, he was my main back then and I used him to counter Outertale Charas since they were the powerhouse of the Chara team and mowed down any Sans with ease if they weren’t max upgrade or just trash without their final upgrade or in general, like TS!Underswap, Classic, Underfell and Underswap Sans and US Papyrus. Now this is the theme that vividly reminds me of 2020, and just getting on your Xbox after Online school or coming back from the Supermarket with family and enjoying yourself, that was my personal experience atleast. This was the theme for the Aglam’s which were Sixbones separate phases. 0:56 1:30 are so amazing, and that “help us” at 1:28 is bone chilling. I forgot how unsettling this theme was too kinda.
I miss those times, from going to the Supermarket with my Dad and Grandma then coming home to play some ULC in 2020 or UJD in 2021, listening to and discovering Undertale and AU themes, roleplaying in discord Undertale servers, (yes, something I also used to do) watching Undertale Gacha content (yes im guilty of this, that shit used to hit, especially the reaction to animations like that Christmas party AU thing and AU fights like Last Breath, Disbelief Papyrus and Glitchtale), Staying up extremely late on my phone watching said content, I had to always charge my phone fully beforehand because I had a LG Stylo Plus 4 that was passed down to me back in 2019, and the battery life was completely ass so you had to make the most of it and wouldn’t charge unless you had it in a specific place.
All around, amazing year, amazing time to be alive. 2020-2021, never forget. So much time has passed, so quickly too, 2021 was just yesterday and now it’s 3 years ago, time files man.

I knew retrospector was gonna put earthbound in there. I couldn't mistake the cave of the past and the static giygas noises for anything else. That static noise was the exact same one as the giygas static from earthbound. Retrospector knows how mix something with earthbound properly.
