With these very cold temperatures my local first first responders from multiple areas are currently fighting a massive structure fire in upstate New York please keep everyone involved in your prayers
Shawn, if we are all looking tired that’s a good thing. That means we are out making some serious money this winter. Last couple have been light. Feels good to be hustling.
I have the same shovel for my house. I found out about the company years ago on a snow removal forum. They’re expensive but extremely well built. I have the same problem though with uneven ground. It cuts through the snow so well that if you don’t have the angle just right it will catch. Can’t tell you the number of times I’ve wrenched my back a little when twisting to push and the blade catches 😂
The job is very much labor intense. Let alone owning a business with the planning that is involved along with not knowing what mother nature is going to do. Agree these are blessings from this winter. Glad you two make that time to be with the kids. Watching them is priceless and it goes by so fast.
dude...it's 7pm and dark again. got sleet overnight most of the night and then solid snow from just before dawn on til near noon. still....a good 2 and even 3" build up in my yard in a few placed. sigh. in south texas. maaaan my parents moved down here when I was a kid to gte away from the white stuff and killer cold. Mom passed coming up on a year ago. Tell you the truth? she would have loved this. she'd have been outside a little bit and then spent the day puttering around the kitchen, baking and cooking all day. happy as a clam. damn Also from a friend of mine who moved to florida "man I moved to florida so I didn't have to shovel snow anymore! Good thing I kept my snow shovels..."
I have a question, do you have to scoop the salt on your property shed to break it up because it wants to clump up just by sitting under the tunnel shed
The state of Michigan did this years ago and screwed everyone for multiple seasons. Thats why the Detroit salt company has reopened the Detroit mine cause soany companies got screwed multiple seasons even tho compines had pre ordered months in advance. The state came in and swiped there stock piles. It was nuts. Im glad i dont have to deal with that anymore cause im no longer head forman and been outta the game for a few years now cause the winters have been absolutely trash up here in Detroit. I know so many companies that had to close down because of weak snow events the past 5 years
Hey Sean. I was wondering if you still have that attachment for the PAS system with the rubber paddles? The one you used to use to put the stones back into a driveway that were in the grass? Not sure if you sold that or not, but that in particular for the type of snow you’re shoveling there would’ve been perfect.
They put a brime down here liquid and put it down before it gets bad but if it rains it delutes it down we got are salt out of the mine in Kansas but we also supplied the salt trucking for the city had three cities go together and buy it in bulk don't know how they split it up but would call when low and send dump trucks and semis down to get more and it last all year so summer time we would start hauling it if had a truck down there to get paid on the rebound hopefully you got some sleep and truck getting fixed just take care and stay warm we freezing here 40 below zero wind chill factor actual temp don't remember but on blood thinners from heart surgery so stay inside but feels like a damp cold and comes through the house take care my friend you get tq pink lights yet
Do you think if you filled your salt completely at end of season it will have to much loss inviability? Cover both ends for summer or top with plastic. Could be cost saving or using the cash now hurt to much. As a long time user, you know far more. I am maube over thinking?
It depends. If u have the cash on hand to bulk store it's better to buy in the summer and store it. Cause u can get it for 1/3 the price. I don't know what prices are right now. But I'm guessing is they have prolly doubled normal price.
We've used salt treated with beat juice before and works well. I used to work for a hospital, and we really liked the green but feel into the exactly same predicament as you several years ago.
Shawn do you know what I would do I would go to the dodge and start it up and go start the product truck and the lawn care truck because the lawn care truck is a diesel
Shawn , r u guys going to put a front plow on the gmc , i run tht same back blade but short iron and we run the boss ext on the fronts , tht combo is killer for commercial lots
Beat juice is what a lot of people will put in their tractor tires for more weight. It doesn't freeze and it is not corrosive like calcium chloride.
That is probably what Rim guard is made out of
Pretty sure that was exactly what was said in the video?

I worked for a municipality and had the state deny us salt. We weren’t even at our 70% we ordered that year.
We switched to using beet juice ice melt 5 years ago, a lot safer on the dogs paws. Cheers from Alberta
We almost got one foot of snow in South Louisiana so how can I get a sack of salt?

Truth! 💪🏼
Why do you floor it so hard while plowing?
The same reason he shovels so fast…

We had a dome type inflated building that was a sports center until a severe storm took it out. They never rebuilt it.
Wow!
Yeah I am a big Notre Dame fan but it was a great game and Ohio deserved it
For sure! Sportsmanship was phenomenal to see.
@@SpencerLawnCare yes it was

Are you using the 24" or 30" snow shovel? What do you recommend? Your videos are great!!! Thanks for your work!

Just get any type of treated salt. They work good in super low temps

A few years ago I saw a video or article that said the beet juice salt worked great.
