Everything. It was a new technology used in a never before attempted format. There were bottlenecks everywhere, both mechanical and electronic. It is a wonder they got anything working. Compared to Pong and Space Invaders this looked like magical science fantasy though, and it gave hints for the new science and technology of home entertainment systems.@@zippymufo9765
There was a Saturday kids game show called Starcade? I remember they showed the intro where the pig throwing the spear was in it. They also showed where you could go through the smashing door and go left, to the mudmen, straight through the door or right over the up and down pylons. I remember when Dragon's Lair hit my local arcades and always wondered what happened to those scenes. This is the first time I saw the whole pig spear scene.

Not hearing the proper background sounds that were used in the final version was frustrating. Glad they eventually thought of what was used. The sound in the tentacle room is super creepy and it is weird not hearing it (as with most of these scenes).
Yeah I want to know where the damn movie is. Dragon name of the movie that I just watched in stock footage from the game you can do the same thing with any game so basically when they said they were making the movie Dragonair we boy lied to
It seems Dragon’s Lair was meant to be longer, and contain alternative paths. This is interesting.
I wonder if it was a limitation of the hardware that they had to stick to one path for each scene.
@@zippymufo9765 Yes.
@@aresaurelian Not enough space on the laserdisc, or it just couldn't handle all the different options? Or both?

The followed this concept up and executed it beuryfully in Space Ace.
I would really love to see an explorer mode where these scenes are used from the prototype of dragon's lair
Me too.
I wish they had it in a arcade, and dragon's lair trilogy also, it would be fun

It's probably a continue option

Dude, you found 3 extra minutes of this prototype footage!
There's just something hilarious about Dirk cheerfully humming moments before he has to make a life or death choice.
That revive screen has 2 Variant:
- Using Continue after game over for Revive.
- Used one life after death (a.k.a. Life lost)
I loved playing this in the early 1980's. It took a lot of my quarters.
The most frustrating "arcade game" in history.
I'm betting these are early versions of these scenes.

The synth baseline to the respawn and death scenes was annoying. I'm glad it was removed in the official release.
