I just binge watched the 5 episodes and thought it was absolutely epic. Hope they make a third series. Haters gonna hate. Let them get on with it. I personally loved it.
Loved the season. I enjoyed the lore the writers utilized. In regards to this season being short. The main reason why I think the series was so short and rushed was the animation budget. Powerhouse Animation is 1 of Netflix's go to studios and have helmed many of their projects. The time they put into the animation really shows. And sometimes the good results come at the expense of short seasons.
@@TheRubyTuesdayOverall I loved it. The character development and the pace was just right despite only 5 episodes, this was my biggest fear. I enjoyed the whole rebuilding a Preternia aspect and was relieved that it wasn’t forgotten after revelation. He-Man and Adam’s characters were done so well and honestly I think might be my favourite versions of the characters to date. Teela and Lyn teaming up was nice to see again after the Filmation episode. Hordak wasn’t as imposing or commanding as I’d hoped for, a bit flat in places - Skeletor on the other hand - amazing! Mark Hamil is really comfortable voicing this character now and it shows. Negatives - the ending was not good. He-Man dissolving the monarchy, “power to the people”, Andra running for office? How completely jarring compared to the rest of the episodes and far too real-world like for me, it really took me out of the magic of MOTU. It’s always been a land of kings and queens and wizards and warlocks - this kind of talk seemed tacked on and unnecessary and will no doubt fuel the “woke” talk pushed by some people :( Also didn’t like Skeletor changing back to Keldor either, I’d rather Skeletor just be a prisoner in a locked dimension somewhere rather than in Castle Grayskull. Very weird But the two spoiler scenes were amazing, LOVED seeing Zodac and the enforcers. I give it 4/5, just the ending soured it
What a refreshing review. I'm so tired of all the reviews bashing it because it's not 100% focused on He-Man. He-man for me who grew up with the toys and the original show have always been about all the characters from Eternia. Whilst I would have liked more He-Man in the first season I didn't mind Teela's arc and what she became. I think this season was even better and I really hope they make another season. My hope is that they choose to focus more on skeletor. I would really like if Adam tries to redeem skeletor and if he ends up being king for real in the end. Or at least do something really heroic as a final act.
@TheRubyTuesday That would be super entertaining to see. Just pop some popcorn and enjoy the show of haters spewing nonsense. Evolution of characters are what was missing from basically all series from back then. I wonder how many would say those series still hold up today if they were to binge the whole series.
I think that is where they are heading, introduce the Snakemen and Despara plus Hordak returns. Keldor becomes Skeletor one last time to protect and save Eternia
I loved it! I never was very critical of revelation and came into revolution with an open mind. I am just glad to get some of my childhood back 40 years later! I hope they continue this series and tell more stories and eventually create a live action movie!
This is my fan dream for season 4! You see, we saw in episode two of this season, Teela saw there was a 4th tower in Preternia. One that looks very much like the Havoc Staff! Now that we know Havoc was one of the 3 old gods, we know that Skeletor has the ability to tap into a power as great as Grayskull itself, since Grayskull heart is the power of Zoar! Now, next season, Horde Prime, Hordak and Despara will be there, most likely giving fans the She-Ra story we have been waiting for. However, what I want is this… Adam and Teela face the extermination of Eternia, and therefore must find a way to stop Horde Prime, and this somehow leads them to search for the fourth tower, the tower of Havoc. Now, in order to do so, they need a guide, someone who Havoc has flowed through their veins! In exchange for banishment instead of captivity, Keldor will use his connection to the dark magic to lead them to the 4th tower. But Keldor is not to be trusted. Even before the journey begins, Keldor talks with his split personality Skeletor, that once they found the tower, they would harness the power of Havoc to bring Skeletor back and make him powerful enough to crush He-man! On the journey, Adam and Keldor will save each other’s lives, and have talks with each other, about their numerous battles, but also Keldors heart felt memories of his brother, when they were young and felt nothing could tear them apart. True, in the beginning, Adam comes close to beating the @!%# out of him, but as they near the end, Adam wonders if he can trust his uncle, and Keldor questions Skeletor if it was finally time to put his hate for He-man behind them? (Also, I am hoping Lynn goes with them, and during the travel, she discovers who Skeletor once was, and they grow an interesting flirt\friendship that Skeletor and Evil-Lynn never had. A relationship that would make audiences go “hmm? What if…”) Eventually, they reach the tower, and Despara is right on their heels! Heman and Keldor fight side by side against a platoon of Horde Troopers and Hordaks warriors! But, when they enter the tower, Keldor betrays Adam, and almost seems sad about it, but says something like “My father always told me, without power, you are nothing. And I refuse to be nothing ever again!” Keldor plunges himself straight into the heart of Havoc, and transforms into the most powerful version of Skeletor we have faced, now the very embodiment of Havoc, just as Heman is the embodiment of Grayskull! Skeletor then kills Horde Prime, takes control of the entire Horde Empire, and begins to seek the power sources of Zoar and Kaa! That’s where the season will end to get the audience hyped for the next one.
I really liked it, as everything has a few things that i don't love but it is a great improvement in comparition with revelations. I hope we can get a new season with Shera
As someone who was very disappointed with Revelation; MOTU Revolution, is much more enjoyable so far. I've only seen the first two episodes, but what I've seen is great:)
looking forward to this. i didn't realize that it was a continuation of the kevin smith series i thought it was something new. ok with me though. i was ok with that series.
I really liked the first ten episodes in Revelation and Revolution is an amazing continuation for the series. I luv it and Kevin Smith should be proud of all of this. Marvelous
Revolution was definitely better than revelations, as Teela is likable, Adam/He-man is utilized more and better, Evil-Lyn actually has a redemption arc, and the threat seems greater. The series even alluded to Adora, even though they have to have her be Despara, the go to character for Adora due to rights issues preventing Adora/She-ra from being used in the master of the universe franchise on screen.
Nope. I still didn't like this one. The characters were just there. They didnt give depth to Ram Man, Buzz Off and other characters. Instead they focused on Teela again. Total crap.
It is hard to beat the original TV series... the aesthetics, visual and sound, are still unachievable... The sinister ambiguity of Castle Grayskuill look, the alien organic architecture and machinery, the sinister music... it is all part of a masterpiece.... these new series, "anime like" do not convey the same feeling of strangeness and fascination
I grew up with original series, loved it as a child but almost unwatchable now as an adult imo. My 10 year old can't believe I used to love that series. She does really like the 2002 series, as do I, and is more similar to these newer Netflix series than the original 80's series.
I LOVED that MOTU: Revolution is acknowledging He-Man & She-ra are TWINS ( no matter what name they have to use or not use for legal reasons ). Of all the MOTUPOP related Netflix reboots, this is the first one I've clicked the like option on, and THAT is the MAIN reason why. The S/Keldor flashback of Hordak ( a flawless dark fairytale scene, with Hordak looking every bit the part of some ancient, demonic warlock, abducting a baby sister princess as in some ancient, dark fable ) abducting Adora from her & Adam's nursery gave me chills!! Most thrilling moment of the show ( though I also sure enjoyed Teela's bootyful, sexy, dazzling joint transformation with Adam, and her epic new central tower lion outfit! )!! Didn't like the pagany angle and the destructibility of Preternia. Loved Granamyr, Shatner & John de Lancie's voice work, hated losing Granamyr etc. Regarding the rights and She-ra, it's REALLY complicated. Mattel owns the copyright & trademark for the She-ra character and for most of the POP characters who had toys in the original 1980s MOTUPOP era, but NBCU/Dreamworks owns Filmation He-man &, seemingly, all movie/tv rights to She-ra. THAT SAID, A, obviously Mattel & Dreamworks should work out a deal to allow both twins and their main castmates to each appear in the other's media. HOWEVER, even if that doesn't or hasn't happened, I think Mattel has done the right thing and is in the clear to forge ahead with the twins tale under the Despara etc. I suspect that was part of Rob David & company's plan when they first started introducing Despara in the 2010s. Dreamworks may have tv/film rights to the specific look and name of She-Ra, but NOBODY has exclusive rights to stories with superhero twin sisters. There is no legal statute to stop The Witcher, Superman, the Harry Potter series, or any other major genre franchise, from giving their main character a twin sibling with super powers. Neither Dreamworks nor Mattel can legally tell the other "you can't give He-Man/She-ra an unnamed, blonde haired, opposite gender twin in your movies/shows, because everyone is going to automatically know who they really are..." It doesn't work that way. Mattel can give He-Man a blonde, twin sister, even without any agreement from NBCU/Dreamworks, as long as they call her She-ra and put her in the trademarked She-ra costume. I frankly think that both NBCU/Dreamworks and Mattel should give one another a fair amount of lenience to both use He-Man and She-ra, along with whatever MOTU/POP toys appeared in BOTH the original Mattel 1980s toylines/minicomics AND the original Filmation era MOTUPOP cartoons, as long as both companies do so reasonably and respectfully ( i.e. Mattel only uses She-ra as a supporting character, and doesn't try to make a show with her as the titular lead, and Dreamworks respects the same parameters regarding He-Man ). I'm pretty sure NEITHER side wants to start being a stick in the mud or a tyrant about "their" legal rights, because the legal rights are SO tricky and complex, they could easily wind up locked in legal contention for years, and might wind up unable to freely use characters they THOUGHT they owned. The rights regarding not only She-ra, but also the whole Evil Horde ( & both Mattel & Filmation worked on designs for both the POP girls AND the Horde boys, as seen in Hordak's early designs ), are a lot more complex and ambiguous than either company likes to let on. Better for both companies to just take a relaxed approach, and give leeway on both sides. That said, I DO think Mattel has worked out a deal, or is at least confident that they are in good legal standing, BECAUSE, Despara refers to Horde Prime by name. Horde Prime is ENTIRELY a Filmation creation, PRECISELY like Shadow Weaver, and MUCH MORE so than She-ra. She-ra, Catra, Frosta etc ALL had Mattel designed toys in the original 1980s era, and all appeared in minicomics, with She-ra's origin minicomic featuring He-Man, the Sorceress, Hordak and Man-at-arms. Horde Prime NEVER appeared in toy form ( not until the 2010s MOTUClassics era ), nor in the original minicomics. Horde Prime was 100% Filmation, so if they are using him, they can use She-ra.

I am one of those guys who hated Revelation, but this one was totally good. Yes, it was bit rushed... but they did a great job with 5 episodes. I do agree that there were some minor gripes (Like Andra inventing Battel Armour instead of BA being one of those magical powers of He-Man), but overall it was fun !! Oh BTW, did Kevin Smith saw lots of Marvel movies before writing the story ? Obviously, He has lifted some plots from Spider-Man Far From Hone (Mysterio fakes being a hero & gets Stark Tech Vs Keldor tricking He-Man / Adam & Getting the kingdom. And Green Goblin's "sprit" talking with Norman Osborn Vs Keldor talking with Skeletech, INCLUDING THE EVIL LAUGH) !!
The villain pretending to be a hero, deceiving the good guys and gaining their trust, isn't exclusively a Marvel thing. It's a trope that's been used so many times.
1st season was a slap in the face, and I don't trust Smith. I'll wait to hear more about this show, done watching my favorite characters being sidelined for lame girl boss characters
The first season should have been the 2nd season. You don't reintroduce a character after almost 20 years (last series was 2002) and do a 'Death of Superman' storyline. Thats exactly what they did, what the world would be like without Superman, in this case He-Man. Looking forward to this season though!
Just finished Revolution and it was fantastic. My only gripe is that I felt the story could have gone between 8 to 10 episodes. Can’t wait for the next installment!
I just binge watched the 5 episodes and thought it was absolutely epic. Hope they make a third series. Haters gonna hate. Let them get on with it. I personally loved it.

The villain pretending to be a hero, deceiving the good guys and gaining their trust, isn't exclusively a Marvel thing. It's a trope that's been used so many times.
@@krex44 I know. But wasn't the scenes quite similar to Far From Home ?
He man’s haircut looks just like blond women from the 80s
Nothing wrong with that considering it's 80s origin
Who is the viewpoint character? That's what it comes down to for most people; is that character relatable & authentic:)
1st season was a slap in the face, and I don't trust Smith. I'll wait to hear more about this show, done watching my favorite characters being sidelined for lame girl boss characters
Loved it
Gday your review is on point
It was not bad!
This did not disappoint. All 5 episodes are great but the two end credits after episode 5 I hope they make more
Yeah, for sure. hope we get more.

The first season should have been the 2nd season. You don't reintroduce a character after almost 20 years (last series was 2002) and do a 'Death of Superman' storyline. Thats exactly what they did, what the world would be like without Superman, in this case He-Man. Looking forward to this season though!
Loved it!!!
Love it!!!
Teela is no longer in Lesb*anville. 😁😁😁
It was meh. Not a train wreck like revalation but not great either.
Just finished Revolution and it was fantastic. My only gripe is that I felt the story could have gone between 8 to 10 episodes. Can’t wait for the next installment!
