I feel bad for the brother of the first caller. Weed is legal in a lot of places, you can't force an adult to take drug tests for weed and disown them from the family if they don't pass a drug test... that level of judgement and control is way worse than smoking weed.
I like him too he is really balanced cuz many folks are really one sided. He does give a bit of Feminist mindset sometimes but I guess I'm just super traditional with male female relationships. Or he's just trying to not get cancelled 😆 😂
I read a self-help book over the summer titled "Digital Minimalism" that teaches readers how to go on a digital declutter with the intent of re-evaluating the purpose and usage of connected screen-based technology in your life. Completely changed how I use my cell phone from over the summer for the better.
Very irresponsible on part of the parents that after ONE miscarriage OR pregnancy scare they did not put their teenage daughter on some form of contraceptive.
I see the need for constant contact with my phones as a type of addiction that requires my detox SNS. If I spend too much time on my phone, obsessively checking the internet, social media, mail, or messages, it makes my feel bad…these things kind of message releases dopamine into my brains, making me feel not bad, and want more….But I sure feel better when the person I am with looks at me instead of their phone…️
Just listened to John regarding the couple that works as a couple through the daily stuff. That is what I hope to someday find. Unfortunately, it seems to be rare. After 20 years post divorce, I come across lots of men who are not willing to put in any effort. Still somewhat optimistic though when I see successful marriages around me.
I didn't mind weed smoker people visiting my home either, until I found one of them had "accidently" left a line of coke on the bathroom counter. I had a 2 yr old at the time. Think about it. I became zero tolerance. We had been friends for years, but I didn't know he used more than weed at all. That night we kicked him out of our house and he was never allowed over the threshold again. I still feel super angry whenever I remember that night.
Right? That caller was annoying. If I was his brother I wouldn’t want to be around him. The only issue there is that his brother is living with his parents and not following their rules
Give me a break marijuana doesn’t qualifies as having a “drug issue” you can buy it legally in my state. I drive by a dispensary almost every day and I see allllll kinds of people in that line. Moms/dads/grandmas/professional people in suits etc.
Well, in some states it isn’t legal, and i wouldn’t allow it into my house either because it’s illegal in my state. Even if it wasn’t I wouldn’t let it in, cigarettes either.
@@amberdalbec548 yes I completely understand not allowing it in your home. I don’t use it either therefore it isn’t in my home, I was just pointing out that having used marijuana doesn’t qualify someone necessarily as a drug addict or mean they have a dependency with it.
I don’t use that or know anyone that I can think of but it’s a flower on a plant. Let him do what he’s going to do. So long is it’s not in your house. That’s fine but he needs to chill and mind his own business.
He isn’t saying his brother can’t smoke marijuana, he just can’t stay in their house if he does. Marijuana is illegal on a lot of states. I wouldn’t allow it in my house at all either and I have a kid. 🤷🏻♀️ it’s also illegal here but even if it was legal I don’t need my kid smelling it
I try to set boundaries with these things. It’s completely out of balance, but my wife fights me on anything that isn’t fun. Setting boundaries with electronics is a no no, but it’s ok if I want to buy them more devices. My problem is a rebellious wife afraid to parent more than anything. It’s absolutely exhausting.
I don't agree with Dr. D when he says parents are allowed to see the phones of their 17 year children. I don't think that's healthy, sorry to be blunt.
Social media is really toxic especially for young kids....I think it's a huge reason why kids struggle with depression more now.
Social media in combination with smart phones is a depression sentence for our youths.
Social media is not toxic I repeat social media is not toxic for young people as kids is becoming successful on Instagram
@Sero Suit Instagram is b3coming less toxic these days many young people are using it for good but do not worry everyone is different.
Second this motion. Won't let me kids near it till they are 16+
The first caller has an awesome husband. Hardworking women, women in general, want attentive and supportive men who we can depend on when needed.

I love Dr. John's show. He reminds me of good times in the 90s!

The best thing my wife and I ever did was severely limit our social media usage. It absolutely does affect your mental well being.

Oh no, not Marijuana. Soooo terrible 😂🙄
The sign of an evolved person: you hold your values tightly and your believes loosely.
Props to Dr. Delony for putting this dude in his place over harmless Marijuana. That guy was a bit of a baby and a drama queen lol.
I’ve been greatly blessed by your show, especially on the topics on teenagers and depression.

Love that he gets right into the nitty gritty -smart!
Lol it was just recreationally legalized in AZ

Their house, their rules. Everyone has behaviors that they don’t allow in their home. Let’s be respectful and kind even if it’s difficult. Peace.
Not even sure why they care lol

Reading the real research is so helpful in understanding the application of the knowledge.
The digital detox was my favourite part of the video 💕

Legal doesn’t make it right. And it doesn’t mean it can’t become an addiction. Look at opioids.

@@quarterlimit5838 opioids are proven to be physically addictive, marijuana is not. Lots of studies backing that up
Whats the big moral deal with marijuana ? It's legal in Canada and they don't have any problems from it.
There is now enough evidence to let people make their own choice and not being a judgmental arse like this guy is
I wouldn't let someone smoke it in my house because I don't like the smell, same with cigarettes or cigars.

Social media has just proven how full of jerks this ol world is.
Social media mis full of good people
