This is ab absolutly impressiv performance of this aria. Bravaa!! If you believe it or not, Gruberova is one of the best sopranos of all time and my personal favourite. I've heard her allready in many different performances and was never disapointed. Many people who critize her singing have never heard her live.

I totally agree. I've also had the pleasure of attending live performances of Ms. Gruberova several times. It's always a feast. I even think a microphone doesn't do her justice: Live she's so much better, warmer and fuller.

I totally agree, Gruberova's voice is live much more impressive than on her recordings. I've heard so many Opera-Stars live and was often disappointed. The difference between a (studio-)recording and a live performance is huge. The best example is Florez: If you listen to his recordings, he seems to have a very big voice, but a performance shows the opposit. It's the same with Bartoli, Kozena, Larmore etc. They made really great recordings but their live-performances are quite disappointing.
