- Pork Chops with apples is an incredibly combination of delicious savory and sweet flavors that make for the easiest and best weeknight meal.
Ingredients for this recipe:
• 4 thick cut bone in pork chops
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
• 4-6 sprigs fresh thyme
• ½ recipe baked apples
• sea salt and pepper to taste
Serves 4
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 45 minutes
Procedures:
1. Make the a ½ recipe for baked apples and keep warm.
2. Season the pork chops on both sides with salt and pepper.
3. Add the olive oil to a large frying pan over high heat and once it begins to lightly smoke, add in the pork chops and turn the head down to medium-high heat.
4. Add in the butter and thyme and cook for 7-8 minutes per side or until golden brown and the desired internal temperature is achieved.
5. Rest the pork for 3-4 minutes before serving with the baked apples.
CHEF NOTES:
• How To Reheat: Add the pork chops and apples to a pan with a lid and bake in the oven at 350° for 10-12 minutes or until hot.
• Make Ahead: It is best to serve this recipe as soon as it’s ready, but you can make it up to 1 day ahead of time, simply keep covered in the refrigerator until ready to reheat and serve.
• How To Store: Cover and keep in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
• I personally enjoy a combination of tart and sweet apples when making them, but feel free to use what you like.
Hey man, I’ll be in Chicago for the home show in March. Any recommendations on where to eat? Hope we can catch up!
Oh man the list is endless. Are you going to the blogger conference on Monday?
Chef Billy Parisi I figured as much. Didn’t know if you had some stand out favs. Def, not looking for Michelin stars, just some good honest grub.
I’ll be there on Thursday for the Influencer conference. Had no idea about a blogger conference on Monday. Didn’t see any info on that event when making plans.
@@KitchenCraftFood I meant to say Friday sorry. Isn't it on Friday?
Chef Billy Parisi Sorry, flying in Thursday, conference Friday.
Well let’s link up there and I’ll spill some beans on local food
My channel teacher nce2 hha
Made it last night. So so good it's definitely a repeater.
I tested it yesterday and although not everyone here really liked the idea of combining meat with sugar and apples, everyone was very surprised by how delicious the dish turned out. Thanks for the recipe.
Looks delicious! 😋👩🏽🍳🍷♥️
Seriously so good!
You hit the nail on the head, my friend. Pork & apples are my favorites! Thanks again.
So good
Excellent Video clip! Sorry for the intrusion, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you ever tried - Bondraw Firm Ferriferous (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a smashing one of a kind product for getting a flatter firmer belly in only 21 days from now minus the normal expense. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my best friend Jordan at last got amazing success with it.
Hey thanks so much for your cooking vids! Are you able to do a video on how you film your cooking videos ? So inspired
No but I do have a course on teachable
@@ChefBillyParisi are you able to link the course? I wasnt able to find it
trying tonight. thanks youtube, dad.
Okay Chef Billy.... total game changer... I mean yes the recipe looks AMAZING! However, I've been cutting up my apples wrong! *thumps head with hand* Seriously I used to HATE life trying to cut out that stinking core.... THANK YOU for saving my sanity!!! I'll forever cut around the core, instead of quartering down the middle and doing a weird angle cut!
Haha you’re welcome
Ohhhhh so delicious
I read that the best paring of apple with pork is a tart apple.
Looks kosher to me, yum
No?
Never disappointed with your vids.
Keep up the great work mate
Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺 👍🏽
Thanks my friend, appreciate you.
I ended up baking my apples in a metal baking sheet and sort of burnt my apples. would using the dish you had in the oven prevent this?
Soon as I saw this guy (1) doesn't wear gloves like a pansy and (2) is bald and beautiful (which is where I'll be in a few years), I knew this video would be worth watching. My Mom used to make this, but I love your rendition. I'll definitely be incorporating a few of your twists into my next attempt at this dish!
I’ve heard sage is a good ingredient that goes well with pork and apples. You think that’d be a good idea instead of thyme?
It would be fine
Eww i hate thyme
I served this along with a side of red cabbage w/ chopped sausage & bacon ! Good Lord!!
I just stumbled upon your channel while looking for a cast iron refurbishing video. Then I saw this one. I love pork chops! I’m trying this recipe soon! I also subscribed 😁
Making this for the third or fourth time, back for a review. Not as big a favorite as the smothered chops, but great for variety
Thanks.
I have leftover rosemary and thyme from a baked chicken. I hate to throw them out. Definitely going to give this a try. Looks very tasty.
Made this last night, wife says I'm in charge of cooking now
I've made this a couple times, love it! Do you have a video of just the apple recipe?
Could you make Käse Spätzle!!!!!!!
That’s a good idea, it’s been awhile!
Looks so amazing!!!!🥰🤩
Thank you friend! Super good combo.
I love your channel ❤️
So good! Would recommend
Making this tonight
Making tonight any sides you recommend to go with this dish?
Hey chef, do you think that a thin spread of ricotta under the pork would be a good choice?
I do not. Maybe goat cheese
👍👍
I’ve learned so much from your channel! Clear, easy instruction and great clarity in your videos. I’m blowing everyone’s mind on how great my cooking is now. Thanks!
Thanks Bob
