Funny you made a lighting install video now. I installed lights in my Sango on New Year's Eve. Hooked them up to the controller in the chair so I can turn them in and off using the button in the joystick.
Problem I have found with the standard way of mounting wheelchair lights to the seat is any tilting of the seat results in you lighting up the sky rather than the ground in front of you. Currently trying to design some brackets I can mount to the base of my chair instead.
I did that on my wheelchair but put a fuse block at the back and a 3 button lighted switch for a motorcycle. I got my 12 volts from a wire to the controler box . My LEDs were white and fog lights. I also put 2 red LEDs on the back so thats what the 3 switches are for. I have a new chair now that has headlights, turn siginals ,and hazzard lights built in. I going to put a back up camera on it for my next project
I have a F5 with unitrack and am curious about your opinions about cup holder options. I've been looking but haven't found anything I love yet. I have the capabilities of having stuff 3D printed.
QUESTION on another topic of charging batteries on a Quantum Edge 3 Stretto. If it's new and the battery is just down 1 bar...meaning 90% charged, I've heard I need to charge it anyway. If you don't use the chair that much, like once a day to get up and down a steep driveway to the mailbox, do I still need to charge it once a week, even if it is mostly charged? I'm not use to the type of batteries the Quantum chair has. Do I charge it weekly anyway even if the chair is showing a full charge, or do I wait until it has 1/4th of the battery left to charge it? If someone is using the chair a lot every day, I can understand why you'd need to charge it every night. If I'm just using it once a day for a mail run, how often should I charge my chair? It scares me to charge the chair when the controller is showing a full charge, or even one bar down, but I don't know how these batteries work. Any advice to keep me from messing up something? Thanks.
lead acid batteries don't like to be in any state, other than fully charged. so any day you use the chair, plug it in overnight, unplug in the morning and you're good to go! if you use the chair a handfull of times per week, the same charging scheme will work fine. just don't leave it plugged in for more than 48 hours at a time. the fastest way to shorten the service life of lead acid batteries is NOT charging them after every use. these batteries are super old technology, and not like cellphone batteries at all.. the charger than comes with the chair will handle everything automatically once its connected. the battery gauge on the chair isn't super accurate anyways - its just an estimate.
@@TotallyNormal- Thank you very much. One more thing. Do I charge it while the chair is on or off? I think you charge it while it is off, but not sure. This Quantum chair is not like my chair and I'm trying to help a Veteran with memory issues to keep his chair in working order. So, your info is much appreciated.
@@TotallyNormal- Thanks. I have it charging for him. And now, I have the chair manual to help him...finally! I won't bother you any more. I have lithium batteries in my chair, so I didn't know anything about Gel batteries until talking to you, and now after getting his manual. I needed to know what I was doing before I did anything, because I certainly didn't want to mess up his chair. Thanks for helping me, help him.
Nothing to do with lights, I have 2017 Corpus M3 and have found out that I need to replace the cable from the joystick (actualy the 2nd piece male male ends ) but I can not access the way to go through the chair. The guy at Permobil said I must take back off 1 I am Quad, 2 live in Costa Rica can you tell me how do U remove the back/ He said somethig about removing 4 bolts (wife is no help)
ive got service manuals on the website -brokenwheelchairs.com/page-2/page-8/ also this page shows the location of the seatback cover screws - brokenwheelchairs.com/page-3/page-31/
just checked my orders.. looks like that exact one isnt available anymore BUT they appear to have a 10 amp version! - amzn.to/4gD9jkE i still dont trust these cheep power supplies but when it arrived, we took it apart on a livestream to inspect things & make sure it was at least grounded and 'safe' to plug in used name brand benchtop power supplies from ebay seem like a much better proposition :^)
