      I think it comes from a lot of games where he played like a beast, with good choices until the last minute(s) in close games and makes the stupid choice of the game at this moment, leading to frustration.
      A lot of people will say "how he's not good in last minutes, he has one of the best clutch stat?", and that's right since this stat is "scoring in the last 5 minutes with both teams within 5pts or less" but in reality, he scored in this context in a lot of games, but ended clomplety making the worst choice of the game in the last or two last possessions.
      It was not the case in this game, but it leads people to think "what's the point to do this triple-double and playing great b-ball if you makes these bad choices at the end and loose the game?"

    • @jieqiiii
      @jieqiiii 3 роки тому +5

      I think it's more of how he plays like he's manipulating the stats, his ball hogging and his arrogance? The image I had of Westbrook was that he was a selfish player. The only reason I clicked into this video was the 21 assists and boy has it changed my opinion of him. If he plays like this more often I'm gonna start rooting for him.

    I notice that Westbrook really plays good if he’s the best player on that team. I mean OKC was finishing strong when he was partnered with a rising oladipo and his game wasnt that good when he was paired with harden in houston. :/

    • @JohnDoe-qe4pq
      @JohnDoe-qe4pq 3 роки тому

      check his stats for the houston run - career high 47% from the field.... there was a 3 month stretch where he played the best bball of his career. he just had a thigh injury at the wrong time (came back 3 weeks after sustaining the injury with the regular timetable return for it being 8 weeks) so that's why he was pretty garbage vs lakers

    The Rafael Palmeiro of the NBA, huge numbers year in and year out and they never mean anything. No rings, no epic one team career (ala Stockton, Duncam, or Bird), no singular moment. Piles of numbers. Horrid career 3pt percentage but not shy about jacking them up. Rebounder who chases numbers at the end of meaningless games. Scowling and hustle doesn't make you an all-time great or an all-time teammate. If he had any sort of team first mentality we might be talking about playoff wins and rings rather than video game numbers.

  • @allainangcao28

    If he had six more rebounds, he would get a 30/20/20 triple double, getting a 20/20 is hard on its own but he managed to get close.

    Legit question is why he has not done anything in terms of playoff run for teams he played for ? Or maybe if Harden, Westbrook got help from Beal, AD and one more all star would be capable to show their "real" basketball brilliance. Those who can adjust their play for the benefit of their teams can only be considered as GREAT players. Westbrook was and always will be "stat machine". One day, sooner that later, when team buy-outs his contract he will go to Brooklyn or Lakers and people will forget that he was not capable to do anything with "HIS" teams, which leads us to conclusion about his overall performance. Nothing more than being "stat machine".
