Based on the art I thought up a mech and a history Its a pre succession war Clint CLNT-1-2R with the AC/10 from the original test phase before they switched to the AC/5 with jump jets. Eventually pushed to the front lines in the wake of the Amaris civil war, it would survive in a damage state and would be gifted in leu of payment to Mercenaries, where it would see action through the 2nd and 3rd succession war losing much of its structure and equipment till being rebuilt in the build up in the late 3rd following the Helm memory core. Chosen for its decent speed and durability, it would be dubbed the "Swiftdraw" and replace its AC/5 with a salvaged ER Large laser to add some range and punch. Made for the regiments commander it would have 3 tons of communication equipment in the left torso to aid the unit in combat as a central communication unit (hence the antenna). With 15 standard heat sinks and 4.5 tons of ferro it was not the best mech on the block, but was a reliable old warhorse and cheap command mech. That is if they can get the parts... I know this isn't the best place to post stuff like this, but it was a fun build trying to not splurge out on tech. It has a BV of 790 which is pretty close to the original Clint with a +1 to Lance initiative with its com equipment. Again sorry if this is odd, cranking soundtrack BTW.

Any MW, picture those LRMs raining down, those pulse lasers going while your brain is going hot on stims and readying for an alpha strike while flushing coolant. And this music plays, because it's a job, just another day.
UA-cam algorithms finally made theirselves themselves usefull and sent me something good? Can't be.. Ok, jokes aside, this is great! I'm getting so much retro feels from listening to this!
Not bad. Seems like 80s music is really big with the Battletech crowd, though personally I'd like to see a Mechwarrior game where the soundtrack is less theme park version of the 80s synth music and more of the weird mix of pop, rock and Sam Spence NFL background music they had in actual 1980s giant robot anime.
Oh god; a thought I had just now. Imagine this... A Mechwarrior 5 DLC or Spin-Off Centered around Solaris VII. You play as an up and coming arena jock earning his way through match after match; buying and selling mechs, parts and so on and adding RPG elements where you get rivals, allies, sponsorships, friends, love interests, ect. You have to go through the tiers as well; Light, Medium, Heavy and Assault. Maybe you have a choice of starting mech between something less impressive like a Locust, Flea or such and have to work your way up to the bigger and better. Maybe when you get to the next circuit you're given a discount on the next weight class.
I'm imagining Duncan Fisher's voice: "Hello there, fans! Duncan Fisher coming at you tonight with another matchup that should prove to be an interesting one if the Timberwolf doesn't just smash the Viper to smithereens with an alpha missile strike. Course that's if the Timberwolf can track the Viper once it gets airborne, because boy oh boy, can that thing FLY! Anyway, we got some new music coming your way for tonight's matchup. Let us know what you think! And please remember, tonight's arena accepts no personal responsibility if crowd members are burned, lacerated, shot, dismembered, decapitated or all of the above. You paid to see it! Now sit back, relax, enjoy a corndog with your beverage of choice, and let the carnage and mayhem begin!" EDIT: Fantastic job, BTW.
Hehe thanks for the idea! A fast and heavy Steiner Scout Lance mix would be fun. Hmmm now I think about it, I could imagine them listening to hard techno... 🤔
I give thanks to the UA-cam algorithms for getting me here as I may have missed a hidden gem. As both a Battletech/Mechwarrior and Synthwave fan - thank you for mixing this! It's perfect for me and my hobby hours *stares at my wall of unpainted miniatures* or stomping face in MW5/HBS Battletech. @@JasonSkye seriously do it! As the other said, Black Pants Legion have all those assets already, and are a legendarily friendly and good community. Duncan's voice would really sell it!
I grew up in the Eighties, when synthwave was a happening thing. I also played Battletech! So this mix is truly radical and awesome!! Will use it as game BGM later on.
I could envision a mini-series with this sort of vibe. Sunset over Solaris VII as a group of random nobodies scrounge together enough bits to enter a Jenner into the Light Circuit, all set to a synthwave symphony and glorious 80's kitsch and camp as they make their way up to the Fifth Circuit championship.
I would have picked an Urbie personally, sure it's slow as fuck but that 360 degrees torso movement would be a bloody godsend in the Light Circuit plus it actually has enough armour and can fit up to an AC/20...An AC/20 don't care if you're in another light mech, at the ranges the Light Circuit fights at an AC/20 is enough to either take out another light mech with a good shot or heavily cripple the other light mech even if it's not a fully connecting shot.
@@JasonSkye Yes it is! Only downsides to the UM-R60L is because it has that AC/20 it looses 2 tons of armor and can only carry 1-2 tons of AC/20 ammo giving it a very limited amount of use but in the Light Circuit both of those downsides really are a non issue as those matches are usually finished within 30 mins or so.
