Is it possible to reverse the clamping of the tubes to work on the opposite lung? Ventilate through the bronchial with a clamped tracheal port above the vent
Didn't understand, when we are ventilating one lung and leaving other without ventilation, the othe lung without ventilation, will it not collapse and become dead altogether?
Trachea not esophagus you’re going to cause aspiration. ETC tube ( esophageal tracheal combo tube) is an option for pre-hospital emergency airway management. It doesn’t matter if it goes to esophageal or the trachea but it needs to be replaced with an endotracheal tube ASAP.
Take care of the terms you use. Esophagus vs trachea are for two different uses and passages.
Thanks for taking the time to explain this! I feel so much better about my case tomorrow!
Have my first thoracotomy case tomorrow-this really helped! thank you so much
PERFECTLY DONE... COMPLETLY MAKES SENSE....
thank you for the detailed and for the drawing- now it does make sense in my head LOL
Thank you!
Love the new intro dude! Thanks for the helpful short vids.
Also when ventilating 1 Lung, I am assuming you would cut Tv in half (if in VC) but as far as O2 levels, would you allow for higher FiO2 levels?
Thank you! This explanation was clear.
amazing illustration! thanks for the helpful video
super helpful. Doing an elective in anaesthesia and this channel is helping a lot
At 1:38 seconds the video says it goes into the oesophagus. Really?
It should go into the trachea.
I heard the same... it has to be a mistake.
No trace - wrong place...
