  • So,
I bought this off ebay. I liked the look of the cabinet, and the top works looked clean.
It took nearly 3 weeks to get here from Florida, but it arrived 2 days after the Cygnet horn I bought from the same seller 5 days after buying the phonograph. I like the idea of keeping them together. The seller was a non-collector, so it is likely the cygnet and machine have been together since the flat-top carriage was added.
Motor was described as having a broken spring, no big deal, but I had a hunch it was actually the pinion on the 3rd wheel arbor.
This sin't really how-to, as I made these videos incidental to the work I was doing, but follow along and see what I did.

I am working on an identical machine with the same issue. I have a new brass bushing for it. I a little spooked about getting too rough with it. I have all the set screws loose. How did you remove the main shaft?
