In campgrounds it is used to dispose of food/beverage - usually in areas where wildlife would rummage through trash cans (mainly bears). In medical environments it used to empty bodily fluids (bed pans, colonelcy bags, catheters) prior to disposing the collection item; some places will dispose of blood products (illegal in many places), but it mainly not meant for heavy bio-hazards. IV solutions can be flushed as long there is no controlled drugs in the IV (mainly plain saline solutions).
I work in a rcf and it blows my mind to see a clean service sink lol… mine has flushometer with a fauset and a bidet sprayer off to the side. Mine has flushed probably 100,000+ pills and syrups… it’s been installed since the 90s and it used to be a level 2 facility. Now it’s level 1 and doesent get used much.
