Video makes them look like cute little toys that we played with as kids, but then you stop and think that is 15 to 20 yards at a time dumping in those volvos with each scoop. Love these videos, keep making great vids like this please.
I wonder why they aren’t using some 395 excavators instead of the 992 loader, a lot less movement required to load out the trucks, probably only 2 scoops depending on bucket size, which = faster turn around time.
And I operated Triple 7 Rock trucks Paddle Wheel scrapers Toure twin engine 657 Push Pull scraper and down to a skid steer and everything in between even a motor grader
Very impressive video, - a lot of expensive machinery on the move their. I just love to see those big CAT loaders, why weren't they using bigger haul trucks, - barely 2 bucket fulls and those dumpers were overflowing? Sadly never get to see those big CAT's in the UK, - Small Country = Small Machinery alas.
I do not understand how anyone could work with the constant beep beep beeping all around. With so many machines working close together it would be impossible to tell in which direction a beep is coming from. The operators are in sound-deadening cabs paying attention to their job and the whereabouts of others. I reckon the beeps are redundant.
When you are on foot in the middle of those monsters, you can easily tell which ones are closer than others, and which ones are pointed right at you! Lol A single point mono microphone doesn't give you location and distance information.
That must be a long job...the mobilization to move all that big iron must be horrendous...would love to be the loader operator...come to work clean leave the same way
Does anyone know what the difference is between the dozers at 6:21? Both twin stacks, but the stack position and hood is different. Edit! At 1:45 you can read that they have D10Ts there too, so looks like 2 D10s, a single stack D9 with grade control, and an 11? Guess the 10t has twin stacks also, just set further back.
Those are both D11N’s at 6:21, the one at the bottom has been repowered to tier 3 the top one still has original 3508 in it. In the intro drone flyover you can see the 2x D11N’s, D10T, and D9T
@@SoCalEarthMovers Ahh, the repower does explain it nicely. I had never seen a D11 with the forward stacks before, only the D10, though with some further searching I found some D11Rs with forward stacks. Thank you for the videos, and the reply!

It looked like the 992 and Volvos were outrunning the three dozers.

Why aren't they using traditional "rock" trucks, thought these models were for high flotation areas
Cost per truck, speed, reliability, job site changing and fuel consumption to name a few. Those are new trucks so maybe S Cal got a deal. :)
Would not want to be the loader operator on the 992 loading truck after truck after truck endless amount of dirt . Hope he has good truck drivers 👍🇺🇸

Probably pushing material to a flat spot for the loader

That's a quick way to load those Volvos 2 scoops and gone.
Actually the loader is taking way too long to load. Truck is way too far from the face.
