휴이 (HÜ) - Love, Love (Got Any Love For Your Troubled Lover) MV

밴드 휴이(HÜ)의 두번째 미니앨범, [FANCY AT FIRST SIGHT] 가 발매되었다.
우리 사회의 어두운 면과 인간관계의 아픔을 노래하던 무거운 이미지를 내려놓고, 위로를 전달하려는 그 본질은 유지한 채 대상을 좀 더 구체화하며 다소 발칙함과 발랄함의 경계선에 서 있는 휴이(HÜ)의 모습을 볼 수 있다.
지금까지의 휴이(HÜ)의 이름으로 발매된 앨범은 디지털 싱글 4장, 그리고 미니앨범 1장. 그 중 첫 번째 미니앨범 [XYOURSIDE] 를 두고 “우리의 색을 찾았다” 라고 멤버들은 입을 모아 말했다. 하지만 이번 2번째 미니앨범 [FANCY AT FIRST SIGHT] 또한 멤버들은 입을 모아 말한다, “우리의 새로운 색을 찾았다” 라고.
새로운 모습을 보여주려는 휴이(HÜ)의 노력은 프로듀서 차일훈(CHA IL HUN)과의 더 깊은 협작으로 이어졌다. 그동안 전체적인 사운드를 다듬어주던 프로듀서 차일훈은 이번 [FANCY AT FIRST SIGHT]의 1번 트랙 “원했던 그 때로”와 3번 트랙 “Love, Love”에 공동작곡으로 참여하여 좀 더 세련되고 진보한 사운드를 근본에서부터 이끌어냈고 4번 트랙 “Chance On You”를 통해 팝적인 휴이(HÜ)의 면모를 이끌어냈다.
1. 원했던 그 때로
이미 떠나간 연인에게 다시 돌아와달라는 진솔하고 자신의 감정에 충실한 고백을 담은 미디움 템포 팝스타일의 곡이다. 너와 내가 함께 했던 순간들은 시간을 지나 우리가 원했던 그 때가 되어버렸고, 헛된 기대를 주지 않으려면서도 자신의 마음을 솔직담백하게 고백하는 화자의 모습을 볼 수 있다. 기본적인 구성의 곡이지만 휴이(HÜ)만의 감성을 실어 따뜻하면서도 서늘한 느낌을 완성해냈다.
2. Find You
악기의 담백한 조화와 개성이 강한 리듬이 엿보이는 곡이다. 드럼과 베이스, 기타와 보컬 모두가 자신의 확실한 개성을 가지고 모였다. 이 조합은 마치 80년대의 댄스 음악의 장면을 연상시킨다. 이미 대상에게 깊이 빠져버린 화자는 눈에 밟히는 대상 때문에 자꾸 신경이 쓰인다. 대상 없이는 살아갈 수 없게 되어버린 화자는 “너 없이 내가 어떻게 살아갈 수 있을까?” 라는 고백을 내뱉으며 자신의 마음을 시인한다.
3. Love, Love (Got Any Love For Your Troubled Lover)
팝적인 코드와 댄서블한 드럼 비트 위로 리듬과 리프를 오가는 화려한 베이스, 간단하면서 귀에 꽂히는 기타리프를 토대로 보컬의 아름다운 선율이 펼쳐지는 매력적인 곡이다. 이전 트랙 “Find You”와는 달리 밝고 당당한 태도를 취하고 있는 화자는 첫눈에 반해버린 상대에게 “Got Any Love For Your Troubled Lover?”. 이렇게 문제 많은 나를 사랑해줄 수 있냐고 묻는다.

I really like this song a lot, but I hope this isn't the final mix. Just my opinion, but lead vocals are way too high, background vocals are so low you can't hear them, the drums sound like they're in a different room.... I really hope someone addresses these issues because they are not doing the track any justice at all.
