It’s one thing to Demamd but you literally signed up for the job to put yourself out on a platform if you’re not interested in that then you shouldn’t be trying to be on the type of platform. Most people don’t tune in for the same conversation because you can’t be open on a public platform. Those who don’t wanna be exposed (Beyoncé/JayZ) don’t put themselves on platforms exposing them to exposure, questions and scrutiny.

(JMO) I’m with Mel… she actually was one of the pioneers of video vixen baddies. At one point it was MAJOR to have certain IT GIRLS in the industry in your videos. Mel being one of the top girls. There was also women like Claudia Jordan, Kenya Moore, Elise Neal, Lisa Raye, Lauren London etc. that IF you had them in your video - it POPPED! Plain and simple.
The video girls in the 90’s-early 2000’s were the black models in our culture. And how you KNEW they were apart of the IT crowd is because most of
The women I mentioned were at one point Jet magazine - beauty of the week!! Maybe men back during those times and current were seeing them as just “s** symbols” however in the entertainment industry and to woman they were black models. There did use to be a high respect for them - until the “shift” that Mel was speaking of.

Love how Ish handled the conversation on Ice Not sure where Joe was headed. And another salute to Big Mel, mental health and Ice’s kids are not boring. It makes the Pod be well rounded. YALL sexual escapades from the 90’s every ep is redundant. no, Mel is correct. There was def a time where all the women wanted to be video vixens. That was the goal, girls looked up to that. Maybe men didn't, but as a woman, many young girls could't wait. Being a video vixen had the same value or esteem as being a model. a shift then happened and it became looked down upon to be a video vixen/ music video girl.

@@DymondCityRydazMel happened to be the most prominent video model. So maybe she's assuming every woman felt how she felt. Could be a huge ego blow if she faced reality.

Swear Joe Budden sounds smart to a dumb person lol he contradicts his self so many times. You cant compare this podcast to Abbot Elementary. Ish and Mel made valid points. This podcast yall share yall real names, real life stories, real experiences, real professions. Yall are not playing a character. Joe’s actions on this “podcast” got him in some real life consequences in the real world “taxtone & cesar incident”. Many other incidents too. So how is he saying this show and whats displayed on this show should be looked at in the same light as a television show? If that was true he wouldnt have to hire security just to go to clubs after that.

Like Mel & Ish said, TV characters have a script, story, and are characters in a show. This podcast talks about real events, real people (Diddy, Meg, Johnathan Majors, Dj Envy, Drake etc.)they give real opinions, some opinions that might be distasteful and can cause drama down the line. But tbh I'm sure w/in that clique there were levels to that $hit. Gloria Velez, Melissa Forde, Lyris C WERE the top girls during that time in history. Karrine was doing her in & behind the cameras. Either way Melissa's earlier work & looks got her to present day. That accident, her recovery & leaving Jason Lee took her in a more grounded take on life. Either way, I can't see her lasting long here bc these brothas see her like a smarter video girl but they downplay her all the time.
