My theory of why Ghoulia (and the Valentine Deuce and Cleo) all have retooled version of their basic accessories is that Mattel is gearing up for a proper reproduction since they probably don't have the original molds anymore, and any reason to have sculpt reuse saves them money so I'm hoping her glasses being recreated means a creepro isn't far off lol. I'm really am aching at not getting this doll cuz I'm moving across the world rn so no new purchases but she really has that spark of G1 passion I have been missing from the current releases lol.

I just realised. In the 90’s, Alexander McQueen had a spine corset on one of his runways. If that was the inspiration for Ghoulia’s corset credit to them cus McQueen is ULTIMATE inspo for any goth-style dolls
So Happy They Did have a 'Fan Club" I have had a Barbie Membership forever...and I was very discouraged to Not be able to get some of the Monster High Dolls that were on the Site...then to see Scalpers selling the dolls I would have liked to get at retail..for unrealistic prices...I just hope the same thing does not HAPPEN for those who have a membership. With a membership they should make sure that everyone that is a member has the chance to at least purchase one of the dolls offered from each new members only offered..We Will See...

My favorite ghoulia has to be the skultimate roller-maze ghoulia, it was either my first or second monster high doll as a kid, and the movie is my all time favorite mh movie. She is also the only doll from my childhood that was able to keep her clothes and most of her accessories (lost a shoe and her bracelet)

I’m so relieved ordering her wasn’t heartbreaking 💙❤️💚🖤🧠🤗🎉 I want a doll for Trixie’s MH character 🤞🤞🤞💕💕💕 oh no a lip defect I hope mine won’t have that 😬 the only thing I’m not feeling is the white “blood” 😂 drip on the boots. Not sure if I like the red ribbons either 🤔🤷🏻♀️. I do think the rib cage & spin red plastic piece is cool but I’d probably display her without it. I do wish the earrings weren’t a repeat item I feel like they could have created something new & different instead. Ghoulia even with the membership, tax & shipping was cheaper than I paid for HC Clawdeen and design wise I feel more excited for Ghoulia.

It's super boring, so I will be taking mine out. I've never been much of an in-box collector because I love restyling them and posing them like the little works of art that they are. I kept my Reel Drama ghouls in the box because the boxes on those were actually pretty cool, as well as my Holiday Draculaura, but that's it. The haunt couture line was above my budget so I don't have those, but I really like those boxes as well. I was also iffy about the bright ass green earrings. I feel like they contrast too much with the rest of her outfit. I saw them described as "glow worm earrings" on the Mattel site and thought maybe they glowed in the dark? If so, that makes them a LITTLE cooler I guess. Haha

In my opinion, I would honestly count her as a Haunt Couture Doll, mostly because she looks like a HC doll in my opinion. but she should’ve had her own Haunt Couture doll, if anything they should’ve made Ghoulaxe Ghoulia a Haunt Couture Ghoulia instead.
I’m worried that long term her clothes will peel. Any vinyl I’ve ever had and kept in years and I mean human clothing broke down eventually and peeled. I’ll be keeping her in box but I’m worried five years from now I’ll notice her clothes falling apart. I hope not though.

Wish they’d just use regular fabric lol hate vinyl fake leather for actual collector dolls Cause I do see it lasting the test of time

Gosh if I could buy another basic Ghoulia I would, not trying to say I want to hog all the original Ghoulias but I just love her 😭 mine is only missing her green headband sadly. She goes for too much I think even more then any of the other wave 1 Ghouls. I've gotten mine for about 150 a couple of months-a year ago but I've recently seen some listings for her on places such as Mercari for like 250+. I personally don't think shes worth it for that price but again basic Ghoulia is a masterpiece ❤️🩹🍒 I did get the new one though which I'm happy about 😀 Her headpiece reminds me of the statue of liberty

The white drip on red just makes me think of Christmas decorations TBH. I may modify it on my doll depending on how I feel about her in person.
