This is all very misguided for lack of a better word. Racism is everywhere. I lived in NY for 26 yrs and experienced plenty of it. As a latino I experienced it from whites and blacks. I worked in a black community where the lighter blacks would treat darker black coworkers like crap and let me not even mention how they treated Africans. Kyrie talks about Boston but go check how many black people do you see in the crowds at MSG, Yankee stadium etc? Brooklyn and Manhattan are THE perfect example of gentrification. Go check harlem out. Yet Kyrie plays there, the dude is a hypocrite. The point is, dont throw dirt on a city and organization. The Celtics organization is class act and racism is found EVERYWHERE. It is all a matter of feeling superior one way or another. It is unfortunate, sad, can cause terrible traumas and change is needed. Just do not pin point a city that based on statistics, it is not even one of the top most racist states in the nation. Actually, NY ranks worst in their inequality. Even California is super racist. I understand that people can have different experiences. I speak of my own AND the facts.
@Mr Shooter angry much? dont recall saying that "it makes it right" It is clearly stated on my response. The problem here is that when people have a national forum and they use it to trash a city or people it is not proper either. If Kyrie or whoever wants to talk about racism, do as Jaylen Brown said. Be more objective and go to the real problems that may help ease racial divides.
@Mr Shooter in addition, using your own term. It sounds dumb when you dont read carefully and then make a dumb statement. I clearly mentioned the effects on the victims of racism. I endured it so I know. I also mentioned that CHANGE is needed. So....yeah.
@Mr Shooter I wonder what is going on with READING COMPREHENSION. I CLEARLY stated that HE (Kyrie) is being irresponsible for calling city racist or that there is a lot of racism in Boston. I based my objection on FACTS and my experience. I never said that my experience is more valid that his. Also, be a little more mature and dont bring politics into this. In addition, you dont know how old I am so your point has ZERO weight. Furthermore, racism is EVERYWHERE and in EVERY COUNTRY. States like NY, CAL, FL, NJ, VA, IL, etc all have a lot of racism so pointing out a city with the intent of damaging its image because he is a passive aggressive dude is childish. Just as an example. Kendrik Perkins won a championship in Boston, was there for at least 7 yrs (dont remember) he said he never experienced racism in Boston. I'm not saying and never said that there is none. But it is a city that doesnt need to be nationally targeted as a racist city because NOT EVERY minority experiences it. At least not directly.
@Mr Shooter also, if u understand what a stereotype is, that is EXACTLY my problem with his comments. He is stereotyping. He couldve said "I experienced racism in several places but I know those are isolated incidents. I have received a lot of love as well" which is a fact. Boston embraced him. There are idiots and ignorants everywhere so he shouldnt come out and call Boston racist. People hear that and will say "damn, Boston is a racist city" which IS A STEREOTYPE
@Mr Shooter I agree with you and I am sorry for you experienced as a person of color. I just think that Mr. Irving made those comments as other incendiary comments as a way to make people look at Boston through that lens. It may sound obvious that there is racism everywhere but, I emphasize the point because he is now playing in Brooklyn NY which is the mother of gentrification. Black communities and the poor have been removed to pave the way for the high class and upper middle class people which I'm sure I do not need to tell you what color most of them are. What has happened to Harlem, to the upper west and east side of Manhattan. He didnt want it to be about basketball. It was in NY where Young got spit. There are many stories of nba players experiencing racism all over the place. Indiana, Houston, NY, Ohio, etc. I understand that these things should be brought to light. ABSOLUTELY.!! I just dont trust Kyrie's intentions. Why wait until gm 3 to say that? It was not his first trip to Boston. Actually, he couldve said it long ago when we left. As Jaylen Brown said , yes there is racism in Boston, but this is beyond basketball. Jaylen Brown and Tatum are taking the issue where it matters and use the correct forums. It is NOT in a pregame interview. There are many ways to tackle the issue without damning many who arent racist. Again, I'm not dismissing his experience nor those of other players. I salute you.
I graduated high school in 2009. Originally from Stoneham MA. About 15 min outside the city. The city and the suburbs are incredibly segregated. Even then. We had two black students in the entire school and they were brother and sister. For so long every every racial and ethnic group had their slice of the city and you never left the neighborhood. Black neighborhoods were denied basic social services and decent schools. Hence why the average black family in Boston holds only $100 in assets .

Facts
Donna Summer!!!
@@PedroMartinez-tt7lr oh snap my bad
Bill burr
All of those famous people left Boston never to return, only person still there is ML Carr, lol, even Tom Brady left Boston
I won't defend racism but Boston has some things going for it.
- Abolitionism had its first stronghold in Boston
-Phyllis Wheatley wrote most of her poetry in Boston
-Frederick Douglass came to Boston after gaining his freedom and began his career here
-The 54th Regiment was from Boston
-Boston had the first thriving Black medical community in the US and the first black woman MD in the US earned her degree in Boston
- MLK and Malcolm X studied here
- The Celtics were the first NBA team to draft and start a Black player; they were the first NBA team to start 5 Black players; and Boston was the first team to have a Black coach
-the Boston Bruins had the first Black player in the NHL
- Boston has a Black woman as Mayor, an Asian woman as President of the City Council, a Black man as Police Chief, and a Latina woman as Superintendent of Schools.
So before you cast Boston as the most racist place in the US, look around you at your own city.
@Mr Shooter Reading is fundamental, son.
Words have meaning.
@Mr Shooter I should be charging you tuition, son. Your reading comprehension is woefully lacking.
Show me where I said that Boston does not have racism? You can't.
And the man's name was Crispus Attucks. Show some respect to the man. And he technically died before the revolution officially started. He was also 1/2 Wampanoag.
You don't have to stay ignorant though. It's never too late to get an education.
@Mr Shooter I am glad that you are finally spelling his name correctly. I suppose that is progress.
You need to work on your insecurity though. It is hampering your personal growth.
@Mr Shooter Show me where I said that racism isn't a big problem in Boston.
You have lost credibility, son.
@Mr Shooter You are in over your head, son. Reading comprehension is not your forte.
Would it be easier for you to understand if I used smaller words and spelled it out for you?
In fact, I will even use your words so that you might be able to grasp the concept:
Boston still has a large problem with privilege, entitlement, prejudice, inequality, and racism BUT everything else I wrote can also be true. Do you see how that works?
John “They Deadass” Salley
Is it still like that in Boston today?
Jemele Hill was talking about the racial makeup of the Celtics team at the time in that clip and their position vs the Lakers. Find a more appropriate clip to make a point. This sounds more like ‘we didn’t like the Celtics cause they had white players
Yeah that clip seemed like a reach in addition to the click bait of this video.
But look at most of all those Boston Celtics team of the 60
She never said that though;she just didn’t like the Celtics cause they were the pistons rivals.Yea there was a racial dynamic to it but you’re acting like the Celtics had an all white staring 5.Two of their starters were black and they had many black bench players. Also Laimneer wasn’t the only white pistons starter.
@ 03:11 I understand the John Salley is a vegetarian or vegan but he doesn't have to shit on the Cuisine of people who eat meat. We don't go around saying vegetarians and vegans are eating compost so why must he compare our Cuisine to dead animals?
Vlad has a flashback for everything that happens. Smart 🤣
I had a brother-in-law that was a big time Celtics fan when I moved to Connecticut from Alabama. He absolutely loved the Celtics. he went to Boston to one Celtics game in Boston and he came back hating the Boston Celtics. to this day he still hates the Boston Celtics more than anything. Based on his experience that he had up there with those racist fans.
Boston Celtics: first NBA team to draft a black player, first NBA team to have all black starting lineup, first pro team in American sports with black head coach...
Preach
And still the city racist af 😂😂😂 that’s like the racist white guy saying “look how many black friends I got” nobody cares you’re still racist, I’ve seen racist parents to their own biracial children it don’t matter they’re racist
@@Southeast_Smitt Bill Russel once said, "I play for the Celtics, not Boston."
David..... you’re good at telling it’s how great the franchise is but AWFUL and admitting how racist the citizens are in Boston. Perhaps you should pay attention to the black people who talk about their mistreatment thete
@@lowlowseesee it's been a problem for centuries
The sad thing is they will get mad now that they've been called out on it.
Now we know why Lebron delivered down 2-3 in Boston
So how were they racist ? Because they disrespected opposing fouls? I'm.sure they did that to all the team not just the black players
Didn't Gina Carano basically say all this?
Bad example.. she’s as racist as they come
@@reg12269 Why do you say that?
I always get a bad vibe when I have to travel to that city...it’s just off. Now I know why
Yea but it was a black dude who stabbed paul pierce, so I dont know why he brought that up........
Sally needs his own show
So how racist Boston is, which is what I imagined lol
Guru the rapper, RIP, is from Boston
As is Coi Leray Bobby Brown Donna Summer Ed OG Joyner Lucas
Kyrie wiped his shoe on their logo too. lmao It was the best thing ever and the Celtics fans deserved it
How tho? He played fucking terrible when he was with us here and it has nothing to do with his race!
One of my cousins played basketball in Boston messed up his life racist as fuck he had to fight he caught charges he cleaned it up he’s an insurance agent now
Ran the Boston Marathon twice and visited many other times. Very diverse city and no signs of racial hatred anywhere. This is al coming from the the media which does not represent the people or the truth! Stay strong Boston!
It is very true. And the way they treat other teams is disgusting considering. Booing throwing things. They don’t do that to hockey teams
This is why they won’t be able to actually sign a black free agent player. They can draft and resign but I guarantee you that Tatum doesn’t resign again. He had to because it was his first contract and he couldn’t leave that kind of money on the table but the next one is a wrap.
But it's the business
I mean Boston as a city has signed huge free agents 100x. So...that's obviously not true
@@MyMyManMelo_ not black one’s, if you didn’t draft them or trade for them you can’t get them. I promise Tatum is gone after this contract Brown also. Do your research all black athletes hate Boston for being the most racist city in American pro sports
@@Bernman100 Bro tf is you talmbout....Tristan Thompson, Al Horford, Shaq, Gary Payton, Chad Ocho Cinco, Cam Newton, Antonio Brown, Ray Allen, Rodney Harrison, Rooslevelt Colvin, Carl Crawford, Stephon Gilmore, Darrele Revis, Tatum and Brown just resigned before this season... lmaoo there's dead ass mad of them lol. Brown calls himself "a Bostonian now" Metta World Peace tryna coach here right now.
You can hate Boston all you want but don't just totally make stuff up or pretend like shit didn't happen.
@@MyMyManMelo_ all those players were on their last legs and had no other opportunities. Type Boston racism in your search bar and do your research. Tatum and Brown had to sign their first extension that’s the business. They gone after that. Literally every player you named was done when they went there. If that’s success to you then ok. Danny Ainge had a million draft picks and money and couldn’t sign anybody but Kimba Walker (damaged goods), Gilmore wants out, Brown had literally no choice 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ you have like 16 straight horrible examples and proved my point for me.
Let’s not say Boston Celtics fans , let’s say Boston civilians . If your racists your not just racists at basketball games
Lemme Get That Shirt Jemele!!!!
VLAD, I like your shows but a lot of times your volume is a little low.
Yo go ask Pk Subban about the Boston Bruins fans
I’ve only been to the Airport in Boston and even the Airport makes me hate Boston. They have the worst Airport in America.
Did Salley say the J word???
Remember Demarcus Cousins was called the n word by a Celtics fan?
