It is an important historical artifact that should be studied. The people who died on it don't care if it gets visited. They're dead. And I'm sure a lot of them would have wanted people to study the remains of The Titanic. A lot of people died in Auschwitz, but people still visit it to learn about what happened there.

But for 19 minutes they experienced sheer terror as the hull began to creak and pop. As their power buss short circuited and most likely water began to weigh the sub down hindering its ascent until it imploded in an instant. They knew it was bad news before they died most likely. Just hearing the sound would have scared the crap out of them...imagine coming back up so extremely slow and a horrific sound coming from one side of the sub...I don't understand why they didn't have some kind of safety chain that could be used if the sub failed to ascend...a chain attached to the large ship that could have brought the sub up themselves...but Stockton HATED being told what he should do and HE DID WHAT HE WANTED TO DO .

    The Descent of Hubris!
Realizing the need to address the issue while mitigating their own liability, the captain formulated a plan. "Then let us make it unequivocally clear that we are aware of the excessive descent rate. Ask him if he needs to slow down. After all, he is the designer of the sub. We'll let him make the decision, and that should shift the liability onto him," the captain resolved, supported by the first officer's acknowledgment. "Ai, captain," the first officer responded, affirming their commitment to address the matter swiftly and responsibly.
At 9:15 am, recognizing the progressing timeline of the dive, the Polar Prince reached out to the Titan with an inquiry that reflected their vigilance: "You are 75 minutes into the dive. What is your depth? Do you need to adjust velocity?"
Two minutes later, at 9:17 am, the Titan responded with an assurance of stability: "All under control at 2960 meters. No adjustments needed. We're enjoying the ride." The Titan's reply conveyed a sense of confidence, indicating that they were content with the current depth and saw no necessity to modify their velocity.
Back on the Polar Prince, the first officer's frantic warning echoed through the control room. "Captain, they are going way too fast! By my calculations, they should be at a depth of 1950 meters, but they're already at 2960 meters. That ship is definitely going to implode!"

I think a CF submersible would work if you built a new hull after X amount of dives. Tests would need to be done on the hull to see how many times it could be safely taken down. He was charging 250k and carrying 4 passengers which is a million dollars per trip. He should have had a shop setup to build multiple hulls and made the titanium rings removable with a rubber seal to flex with the 2 dissimilar materials. I would have had a 12 inch dado in the titanium rings instead of a 2 inch like he had, to fit the hull into with a rubber ring. Then I would have gotten away from the edge and drilled holes through the T-CF-T sandwich and put bolts through it. Even though holes weaken carbon fiber, it would have been sandwiched between titanium. Another way if you didn't want to drill holes is to have brackets every 2 feet on the rings where titanium 2x4's would bolt at each end and run parallel with the hull. Then at each end of the T 2x4's the bolts could be torqued to pull the end rings tight against the CF tube and rubber seal. I would have completely eliminated the window and put a round TV screen in that spot, with a camera outside that sent real time video footage. Sources say that he tested the sub in the Bahamas and took it to Titanic depths 50 times. Lets just say he replaced the hull every 10 dives to play it safe. In 10 dives he would have made 10 million dollars, and if it costs 1 million to make a new hull, he's making bank. There's a way of doing this safely, but it would need to be redesigned and not have those cheesy glue joints holding the end caps and no window. I would also attach a cable to it like the unmanned submersibles have, so if something went wrong you could winch in back up. It was light enough to do this.
