She tweeted nearly a decade ago saying she would love to play Galinda/Glinda.
She could still play Elphaba on Broadway some day. How awesome would that be! Seems unlikely but anything’s possible.
I think Glinda hits higher notes too so it makes sense
I feel like she would make a better glinda. Ariana is super beautiful and glinda is super glamorous which is perfect for ariana.
There is an interview from when she was younger, she was asked which one she'd rather play and she didn't hesitate when she said Glinda.
The fact that Kristen gave her glittery body wash at the wicked show as a child almost seems prophetic, like it was a sign to her as a promise she would be the glittering Glinda one day if she kept following her dreams. ✨

@@norijean3279 Both character are very vital to the story! There wouldn’t be a show without Elphaba, and the same is said about Glinda! Both characters are very important. And VERY few can sing the songs that Glinda has to sing.

Like many who have played Elphaba or Glinda in a production of Wicked, it’s hard to choose which role to audition for, sure, Defying Gravity is “the heart of Wicked” but what about Popular. Many love Popular more than Defying Gravity, both songs are very fun to sing. Ariana is obsessed with Glinda right now, she’s loving every second of it. Ariana is very famous, that, her singing talents and her genuine love of the musical all led to her being cast. Glinda is one of the two lead roles, it’s hardly a consolation. Cynthia Erivo is a talented but less well-known singer like Ariana. Cynthia is better known for her Broadway work in The Colour Purple. Both actresses are thrilled at their roles in Wicked.
