Montana is the greatest. I live in very rural Utah in a mountain cabin; in my life before I lived in the cities (and worldwide in the military); until you have lived in the woods you won't appreciate what it is like, but once you have done so, you will never want to go back. Rural folk (like the entire state of Montana) cringe like I do when they visit a monstrocity like Salt Lake City. We count the seconds until we are out of there.
I live in North Wales completely different from Montana but farming has the same problems here as well support your local farmer and culture .love to go sometime
Good to see Cooke City again on a sunny day and video, thanks! Last time I was there, 1988 Yellowstone Fires, almost burned over the town. The winters in Montana are BRUTAL. It's similar to like watching those documentaries of Antartica🤪 Beautiful place to visit in the summer. I would not survive the weather. Been there done that. The lady.."people go home and watch movies."😂 wow
It's really not that bad. Most days the highs are near freezing, with just a few day span once or twice a season where it drops far into the negatives. I'm only guessing but I'd say 70% of days between November and March the high is in the 30's or higher. I guess it depends where you are though, the eastern flat half of the state probably averages quite a bit colder. I live just outside Glacier NP, and can only really testify to my area and the Flathead Valley.
I was born in Glasgow AFB. It was a SAC base then. My dad is originally from Philly and he always said how much he liked it there. A lot of guys stationed there went to Guam then Vietnam. 1963-1966. I want to go back.
Property crime in Big Sky Country fell from 21.5 to 21.0 incidents per 1,000 people-putting the state within 2% of the national rate of 20.7. Overall, Montana reports the sixteenth-highest property crime rate in the US.
57:34 don’t you mean ‘add’ years to your life?? I was born in Glasgow MT at the AFB and we moved when my dad discharged. Went back for a visit in 2014 and traveled from Billings to Glasgow. It is a beautiful state. The mosquitos 🦟 in the northern part of the state were OFF THE CHAIN, though. YIKES! We ate steaks at Jakes on my birthday. Unfortunately because of the harsh winters I could never live there. 😢
Yes, cowboy church! Once I moved to Northern California I attended a Bible study from cowboy church in Yuba City. Such good people! Haven't found much of that in regular churches 😔. Last decade before octogenarian. I don't think I'll ever find a church without insider cliques or pastors gone bad. Good to know God never changes and Jesus is always with us. God bless.
Back in the 1970s, in Riverside County, California, Cowboys for Christ used to hold meetings at my ranch. Great people and wonderful times back then. It is truly sad what California has turned into. Hopefully, the few places in the United States where it is still rural remains that way, just getting enough fresh faces and families to replenishes and sustain their viable population numbers. GOD bless and may HIS peace be with You
I travel to Montana twice a year from Calgary. I enjoy the natural way folks engage in normal social interactions. Be yourself, talk to locals, don't try to convince Montanans that they are missing out on something, because they are not.

All kidding aside, it looks like an interesting place to visit, but even though I lean conservative, I’d be bored shitless there. I don’t drink, but would probably take it up if I lived in Montana!
Wow!! I have not seen a Radio Shack in years. The one in my town closed 10 or 15 years ago. Maybe the last Radio Shack will be as popular as the last Block Buster in Bend OR.
Lived in Montana for a time. A tall cowboy (white) boldly announced to me he is a native Montanan. I said, funny, you don't look Indian. He threw his beer mug and left.
Another good job, Nick. You've brought to light another attractive relocation spot for my list, very appealing. Montanans appear to be people after my own heart because, as it applies to where I want to live and never leave, that place has to be a place where the excitement is sporadic and the peace CONSTANT.
We were just in far eastern Montana for a little bit on a ‘Grand Tour of North Dakota’ vacation. Saw like 5 people. Nothing like driving along a 2-lane asphalt highway that turns to gravel at 70 mph with no warning. Drove on the gravel part for about 30 miles (going 50 mph) before it mercifully turned back to asphalt.
Your cracking me up Nick!🤣😂So hilarious when you said it’s tough nust trying to have a conversation and you’d be at the bar too bc nothing to do in Montana.😅❤🎉
I have not shopped nor do I purchase from big retail chains for everything except my groceries, but everything else, even my razor blade refills, I shop on Mercari, Poshmark, ebay and depop. I pay more, but it's because I choose to buy discontinued yarn, and it's a bit costly, but I'd rather help a family or single parent, students, etc. Who really need the money to survive! That's what I have been doing for about 7 years now, I think. Support small mom pop businesses it's their lively hood. Great videos, Nick I am never disappointed with your content and of course you are hilarious 😅❤😊
People would rather see the slums of Michigan rather than this beautiful place? I don't understand why this video wouldn't would get hundreds of thousands of views man.
Spent the first 26 years of my life in Montana. Grew up on a farm in the north central part of the state. I miss it at times, but there aren't many jobs outside of agriculture. I've been away for 28 years now. Some day I'd like to go back and visit.
I live north of montana by a couple hrs and the farm land is the same. The season is long enough to get a crop off. Yea lots of “hay” indicates lots of livestock. Hay is NOT the only thing that can be grown 😂. Popular crops up here in my parts is wheat, barley, oats, peas, lentils, canola, flax, mustard. You could also be doing corn etc…
That may be true on these back roads, but on the highway, after driving across the country several times, I've had the opposite experience, oddly enough. Montanans drive exactly the speed limit, or even a few miles under, more often than people do in any other state I've been to.
Most of my 71 yrs was spent Rialto Fontana sometimes I miss it too but sure enjoy your. Videos my kids live in western Montana now I havent been yet Thankyou for the views

I kid you not Nick....A few years ago I was watching a You Tube channel "Crusing the cut". It was a guy on a narrow boat in England filming his travels on the man made canals there. You walk in a bar, you do your jumping heel click. If you don't so that, well partner, we draw. That's how our pappies did it and their pappies before em, and that's the way we like it!
Thank you! man you deserve recognition.
I can’t get enough of your videos! I really love your background music as your first go into the video and at the end mostly. I like your Wisconsin videos the most because that’s where I’m at. Keep them coming!
Agreed. I live in the woods in a small town in NH. Boston and NYC are fun for a day or two but then I can’t wait to get back to my simple quiet life.
I live in North Wales completely different from Montana but farming has the same problems here as well support your local farmer and culture .love to go sometime
Good to see Cooke City again on a sunny day and video, thanks! Last time I was there, 1988 Yellowstone Fires, almost burned over the town. We were a team from Alaska and local Crow Agency firefighters helped to extinguish the final remnants of a devastating season. Beautiful country and great people! Thanks Nick🤙🇺🇲
No traffic, no drama, and No Bills? At: 30:07. What do you mean by that Nick Johnson? The people there must surely still pay there taxes and rent.
I enjoy watching these videos because I use to live here up to 11 years ago. Now I am stuck in Oregon and homesick for the landscape there. Your video’s bring back good memories of what I do remember what Montana was like. Now, as a retiree, I cannot afford to move back there.
It seems to me that if you don't drink or gamble the towns in Montana don't have much to offer for entertainment.
People who need to be entertained can go elsewhere.
To these people, entertainment means The Great Outdoors. Doing things with other people.
I love this guy, such a fun and interesting channel. Keep the great content coming Nick! You should come and explore Canada some day...
Finally, Nick went to church. Our prayers are being answered.
Whatever
😂😂

Wonderful video, as always. One of the most interesting channels I have ever seen on ShitoTube, this man gets to travel everywhere, know first hand, explain and show how life in the U.S. really goes. Thank you for your productions, sir.
At the Wrangler bar in Grass Range they’re featuring the Blues Brothers tonight 👍🏼😁🕺🏻👢🕶
RAWHIDE!! !!!
Western Montana is breathtaking. The state if full of nice people with great values.......hope it stays that way.
I like your style. Quiet and relaxing. A gentle journey. Thanks for your work. It's great TV
A small town in Pennsylvania and Virginia where i grew up had store credit and if you didn't pay you were put on a big whiteboard in thw store but your name and reputation was your credit. It was cool.
I don't think Mrs Mappy would like to visit Montana. There's only 14 Walmart stores 😢
She's into Gucci now
The gent in the grey shirt seems like a solid fella. We need more of those in this world!
i really love your videos Nick they really show what it's like to be in a place as a normal person😍
Wow! thanks! I've watched this video, and that was an interesting and deep experience. Im watching from Para State, in brazil, in the Amazon region.
We have been to a few cowboy churches here in New York at real barns with real animals…and of course real believers God Bless
Yellowstone Park is closing it's roads temporarily due to heavy snow today. It can snow any month of the year in Montana. I've seen it.
Last year, my garden suffered because it froze in June, July, and August.
I've lived in Billings for about 22 years, and I have never seen anyone chewing tobacco. 🤣 But I love your videos man keep it up! PS, Mappy is careless with firearms. 😬
Great video Nick!
I’d love to try some of that Huckleberry Ice Cream!
Thanks for going to Montana, so I don’t have to!
They weren't natives, either ;)
@@jeffreyg607 If American Indians weren't native either (confirmed by DNA analysis of over 10,000 years) then who is? Adam and Eve?
Nice one!!!
We get to say that if we were born here. Cope.
@@squibbleyfarbleton1976 Truth and honesty is how I cope and you are living a lie by claiming that title.
Another good job, Nick. You've brought to light another attractive relocation spot for my list, very appealing. Montanans appear to be people after my own heart because, as it applies to where I want to live and never leave, that place has to be a place where the excitement is sporadic and the peace CONSTANT.
... .
Never been to Montana looks like fun 🤩! Always wanted to go visit there and Idaho, Wyoming !
Mighty glad to see ya' come visit....just....DON'T STAY 🙂🙃😉😊
@@patjones5723are blacks allowed
We were just in far eastern Montana for a little bit on a ‘Grand Tour of North Dakota’ vacation. Saw like 5 people. Nothing like driving along a 2-lane asphalt highway that turns to gravel at 70 mph with no warning. Drove on the gravel part for about 30 miles (going 50 mph) before it mercifully turned back to asphalt.
Much love to Butte America....well done.
Your cracking me up Nick!🤣😂So hilarious when you said it’s tough nust trying to have a conversation and you’d be at the bar too bc nothing to do in Montana.😅❤🎉
Truth 💯🙌🏼🇺🇸💗🇺🇸 Support your local meat growers, farmers markets, mom & pop stores. Keep America Great Again.
Absolutely 💯
Nick, this is one of your best videos. Your narrative is wonderful!
Paul! 🤠
This is the best Montana video ever!
Hi Nick, my new favourite channel. Never been to America, through you I am living it. Love your humour. ❤ from St. John’s, Newfoundland.
🇨🇦!
Not 5 minutes in and the beauty there!!! What a gorgeous state!!!
Great to see the Raido Shack, I remember going into them just to see the new stuff on display.
A place with most of white people usually is a peaceful place, lot of examples accross the country.
Agreed
It's true though.
Fact
If there’s blacks, can’t relax
But they are the most on drugs.
That's how sick people are 🤷🏻♂️
Spent the first 26 years of my life in Montana. Grew up on a farm in the north central part of the state. I miss it at times, but there aren't many jobs outside of agriculture. I've been away for 28 years now. Some day I'd like to go back and visit.
Yes huckleberry ice cream is the best! There's a place in Sister's Oregon that makes dam gooood huckleberry ice cream🍦😋
Been there...was great
camp sherman on the metolius river is one of my favorite places to camp and fish outside of Sisters. Huckleberry season is a big deal from OR to MT
@@yppakcaasi5396 Rite on! Sisters Bakery has the best apple fritters 😋
Thanks Nick. I absolutely want to move to Montana.
Hope you have half a million bucks to spend on some basic little house with barely any land
Sorry, no vacancy.
Really enjoy each and every one of your travels. Great service for all of us who do not have the time, age, or
means of traveling the US of A.
The speed limit is "nobody gives a sh&t" best comment ever
That may be true on these back roads, but on the highway, after driving across the country several times, I've had the opposite experience, oddly enough. Montanans drive exactly the speed limit, or even a few miles under, more often than people do in any other state I've been to.
Sounds like Colorado.
Hi nick, you make me laugh 😂 Montana is beautiful.
I like how Nick makes total fun of Montana and people in the comments think it’s a compliment
Most of my 71 yrs was spent Rialto Fontana sometimes I miss it too but sure enjoy your. Videos my kids live in western Montana now I havent been yet Thankyou for the views
The towns are 95 percent white and you can leave your doors unlocked...hmmm...I'm having a hard time putting this puzzle together...what is the common denominator?
Your videos, they are so, so warm and make you feel so good
Look Nick, I need to admit something. I just checked and I wasn’t even subscribed. I assumed I was but I’ve probably watched hundreds of hours assuming that. Sorry man! Thanks for your time and videos.
I’m subscribed now by the way.
Ok well now you are Chuck!
Montana is a beautiful state. My uncle aka mom”s brother; is from Missoula county. South west Montana. Been here twice as a young kid. Only thing I remember is howdy, pop (soda) and suckers ( candy)! Love the rocky mountains. My family there says they get forest fires every summer and bad winters.

Mappy is going to not miss one day if you keep messing with him!!
I kid you not Nick....A few years ago I was watching a You Tube channel "Crusing the cut". It was a guy on a narrow boat in England filming his travels on the man made canals there. I mentioned to him that his video's were so good that I could see him having a series on Netflix. Less than 6 months later his videos were on Netflix. I mention this as I get that same possible feeling from yours. Great Montana video!

Another excellent report, Nick. Always enjoy watching your exploits. Keep 'em going.
