1- The tourism department has issued a circular directing beach shacks to follow normas as per Noise Pollution Rules.
“Sound of music played shall be heard within the shack and shall not cause any disturbance to surrounding occupants,” the circular reads
The circular further states that shacks can operate from 7 am till 11 pm.
Shacks have also been requested to promote Goan music and Goan cuisine.
2- Mandrem police arrest Brijesh s/o Narayan Vast (30), Floyd Dsouza (34), Sunil Gawada (43) all r/o Arambol and Diptesh Polji (26) r/o Korgao-Pernem for their alleged involvement in assault case of 3 Vengurla-Maharashtra natives
3- Government of Goa has directed educational institutions to commence the new Academic Year from 1 April from the Academic Year 2025-2026 for the grades 6 to 10 & grade 12 for government, government aided and unaided recognized Schools in the state.
However, the following instructions are issued for effective implementation with effect from the year 2025-2026.
1. The classes will be conducted for the above grades in the month of April up to 11:30 am.
ii. The students of the above Grades will have summer vacation from 1.5.2025 to 3.6.2025.
iii. The schools will follow regular timings from 4.6.2025 onwards.
Therefore, the Heads of institutions are enjoined upon to take appropriate action to commence the Academic Year from 1 April.
A copy of this circular should be prominently displayed on the School's notice board, ensuring that all stakeholders including teachers, students and parents are informed and are aware of the commencement of the Academic year.
This Circular is issued with the approval of the Competent Authority.
4- Private passenger bus that had crashed the gates of Dona Paula jetty after break failure, was apparently issued passing certificate by RTO just two days before the accident. According to the sources, the passing certificate was issued without RTO clearance.
5- In yet another incident of attack by a ferocious dog, Vinil Salgaonkar, a local from Assagao was attacked by a Rottweiler late last night. The victim sustaining severe bite injuries to his left leg. Anjuna police have registered an offense against the owner Sham Govekar.
According to the victim's brother Sunil, the incident occurred around 10 pm.
6- With the aim of utilizing APAAR ID as the primary identifier of the student, it is mandatory to quote APAAR ID in inter-school transfers and migration here onwards. Further, APAAR ID is also mandatory to obtain the benefits of free text books, mid day meals and other Govt. beneït schemes.
