I watched this kid play as a sophomore when he was at Canterbury... my husband coached at a rival school...he lit us up... my husband said he was the most talented sophomore he'd ever seen play in person.
I had this saved on a DVR years ago and switched services and lost the recording. Just thought to search for it. Really really moved me. I've lost a lot of family recently and thinking about Austin and how he was just able to continuously press forward with the help of those close to him just inspires me. And I'm a 48 yr old man now and I'm probably old enough to be his father yet I do admire his strength at such a young age. Hope all is well for u young Man. God Bless and Go Blue 💙💛
Reading the report on the second crash, the Dad just seemed like a careless flyer. You’d think you’d be a bit more careful after after almost destroying your first family.
I really do not understand how someone could dislike this story. Truly inspiration, such heartache and to do what this young man has achieved is amazing!
How are there 33 dislikes on this amazing story?!? I don’t care if you an Ohio fan or MSU fan or whoever you are, if you don’t feel anything for this story then you are truly heartless
The reason there are dislikes is the fact that the father still decided to fly again after getting into a terrible crash like that. Any human with brains would of said im done after the first incident
I mean after the first crash, I wouldn’t board another private plane. It’s just negligent. I think his dad should’ve been investigated. He was careless. I’m happy Austin survived.
What kind of pilot does not check weather forecasts, especially when flying small planes. Also, why bring family members on your first flight after a horrific accident? I would just practice a couple of times at least.
If a pilot has crashed a plane once, don't fly with him. I know that's a shitty deal but there are a ton of pilots out there who die on their SECOND crash.
Austin kind of ruined it for me when he asked his coach “wanna be apart of a miracle?” His dad may have been a good guy but wow....pretty reckless/arrogant pilot.
I feel like this could be a movie...
Like as in his story could be turned into a movie based on a true story and a lot of people can be inspired
Netflix should make a documentary on this story
Just read that he got engaged. Congratulations to him and his lady.
He came to my school back on January 17, it was amazing.

That was amazing! It's a miracle
And now he's in the Final Four with Michigan

Very Inspiring! Meanwhile, I'm here watching UA-cam instead of doing something with my life.
You can fly a plane.
Anthony Lam it's never too late
He went to hell and back that's spirit I could never imagine love you Austin
Powerful!
What a great story
Pretty cool story, but my god what's with the serious errors his dad obviously made with the plane twice. I mean damn.
Even though I hate Michigan, incredible young man
and now he’s engaged
incredible
no disrespect but crashing a plane twice is pretty horrible I would have have stopped after the first crash
Yes i agree why would you keep flying
Horses
Barney
Ballislife MO right
Shit I agree
Amazing.
I wish i could like twice.
What a champion.....
His father may have been a nice man, but sadly he was a poor pilot and that affected a lot of lives.
Super good story but it seems like the dad got very unlucky behind that wheel of the plane. Super sad but super inspirational
Should have stopped flying after the first accident. Such a sad story
Gosh darn onions
They should make a movie off of him
Whoever gave his father flight certificate should go to jail
I'm terrified of Cessna planes for this reason. I can't believe he has the strength to still fly! What are the odds of this? Damn, this poor kid.
Wife and kids died in 03, remarried in 05. Jesus dude pump the brakes.
Yeah that was bizarre to me.
Whoever disliked this is going to hell
I just met him and got a pic with him lol
@Samuel Ingalls well i just moved in with him

I’m happy Austin survived.
The FFA did and his dad was at fault for both crashes

Holy shit
Austin kind of ruined it for me when he asked his coach “wanna be apart of a miracle?”
His dad may have been a good guy but wow....pretty reckless/arrogant pilot.
I think you misunderstood who said that--it was Coach Adams, not Austin.
Jennifer Kallem Stfu jennifer you sound arrogant rn
You can judge what he’s done after you’ve been in similar situations, almost died multiple times, and lost half your family twice.
It's easy to hate ppl like you
What a shit pilot he was.
