Helsingborg: The Real Sweden

- In this video we hit the highlights of South Sweden's Skåne, from Helsingborg's city center, with its beautiful North Harbor and Sweden's oldest pedestrian shopping street; to the open-air museum Fredriksdal, larger than Stockholm's Skansen; to the gardens (named Europe's most beautiful) and palace Sofiero; and on to Mölle, the birthplace of Swedish sin.
At Mölle, we stop for a round of golf at nature's playground, Kullaberg, which has been described as a compact New Zealand and is also noted for hiking and biking trails, as well as porpoise safaris.
We leave the Kulla peninsula to visit the home of one of the world's greatest sopranists, Birgit Nilsson, and a museum dedicated to her, before continuing on to beautiful Båstad, Sweden's riviera and home to the Swedish Open Tennis Tournament.
We conclude our visit at one of Northern Europe's most important weaveries, founded by seamstress Märta Måås Fjätterström, before heading back to Helsingborg.
Helsingborg is situated only one hour from Copenhagen and directly across from Elsinore (home to Hamlet's Castle) at the narrowest part of the sound between Denmark and Sweden.
Cruise passengers disembarking for the day in Helsingborg have remarked more than once that now they were seeing "The Real Sweden."

@@brianhilmiu4923 I have almost all my life lived in Uppsala. If you prefer education as the most important aspect in a city, then Uppsala is a good choice if not the best. Uppsala is famous for having the best student environment in Sweden. I don't know much about Helsinborg right now but I think it is a prettier place than Uppsala.

Lovely video. Sadly, Helsingborg is also synonym with heartbreak for me. I had one of the worst experiences in my life there back in March 2023. I met a guy from there and after a while we talked about getting into a serious relationship. He came to Portugal twice so I decided to go to his hometown in Helsingborg. After everything was planned out, he said he was no longer interested. From that moment on, not a day went by without him insulting me for my ethnicity and nationality. Two weeks before my trip he lied and told me he was dating someone else. A week later he told me he said that to hurt me. He said he lost interest in me for three main reasons: one, my Dutch ethnicity. He hates them. Two, because I said I was only interested in him and in no other man and he thought that was being "too much and obsessive". Three, because once he started to change and call me names and tell me lies, I told him one day my eyes were tearing up and he said he didn't want his man to have any sort of weakness.
I still met him. It was awful. I wasted a week of my life and two months of my income. He said he wouldn't take me to any restaurants because he'd not spend money paying for his meal because of me. When he was unemployed, he travelled to Grand Canaria to have dinner at an expensive restaurant with another guy I later found out was someone he talked about me behind my back.
He said he couldn't even look at me because of my looks - which he already knew so well - and that "my eyes seemed to pierce through his soul". He took me to Kullaberg but only for a few minutes. He was on his phone the whole time, always angry and didn't let me take any pictures with him. He took pics with everyone, including strangers he'd meet in his many trips around Europe. I couldn't visit Birgit's house. I love Birgit Nilsson, I love Wagner. He said he's been to a few places with his friends there before but he wouldn't go there with me.
I always travel alone but I have never felt so lonely during a trip in my life. I intended to move to Helsingborg for him. I've always dreamed of living in Sweden or Germany, anyway. He'd always walk ahead of me, never by my side. He didn't even let me give him a hug when we met, while he'd make noises to tell me all the things he did to other guys in private right after telling me again there was no chance between us because of those three things I've mentioned before. He'd always tell me I don't speak proper English for having an American accent, even though he's from Helsingborg and has a very different accent from the rest of the country. Every day was some manipulative or offensive comment. He'd call me filthy for my nationality while listening to music from that country - which I hated and never listened to - and criticizing me for liking Classical Music.
We had no Swedish ficka, which I wanted to. Since I was a kid I wanted to visit Kronborg. We went to Helsingor but he took me there at a time it was closed so he wouldn't pay for the entrance ticket. We didn't go to Sofiero for the same reason. We didn't do anything really except walk around Helsingborg and be called names.
Sadly, Helsingborg changed a lot since 2015 and parts of the city were really, really awful, just like Malmö and most of Sweden right now. It was just an awful experience for me. Hopefully I'll be back there - maybe even live there - because the other Swedes were really nice to me - even though they were all at their workplaces. I want to have better memories of that city because so far he made me hate that place.

I have lived here for 34 years and I will never leave oh I remember being a kid and playing with my friends. Jag skulle gå till stranden och springa runt för timmar med dom translation: I would go to the beach with my friends and run for hours with them. It was truly the best time of my life nothing mattered just having fun I do miss being a kid in Sweden. Vad gillar du meste om Sverige för mej är det stranden och kanelbulle. Translation: what do you like the most about Sweden for me it's the beach and I don't know how to translate kanelbulle.

A bit strange to call a city which was under Swedish rule for only 360 years "THE REAL SWEDEN"!. Maybe you forgot to check a little about the history of the city. Nice video though.
Sorry mate, this is not "the real sweden" this is Skåne. It's a lot more Danish than Swedish, also Skåne was part of Denmark for far longer than it have been that of Sweden. I am born and raised in Helsingborg, I am triggered.
