But I really appreciate the fact that there's something like a new vlog! Thank you Adam for putting that up! It's nice to know what's going on in your life every once and again.
The grinding noise and the sudden failure sounds like the external water pump went out which these are notorious for going bad on these 3.7s, every engine has there problems, 20k is wayy to much for 2017
How much is a base 2 dr pickup brand new w warranty? Can't be much more than these used ones, w 10k down and low rate on new I bet it's cheaper and you get full warranty no repair bills
Do more test drives! Also, if the substance of a vehicle is well enough, it may well be worth the buy anyways, but only if the price is right. I bought a vehicle from 1999 for 600 bucks, it needed some repairs from a colision, and subsequently a new clutch, and then the transmission died on me. So I basically put in about 2 grand into it - but it has only 78,000km on the clock (that may be false, but the body doesn't show!), the body is practically as rust-free as a new vehicle, and all the suspension parts are tight like new. That and a reliable 8-valve engine which will make 200,000 miles - not km! (instead of the newer 16-valve that has only problems, and they're still building it in some variety until today) made the deal for me. Plus the fact that I fix the computer problems that my car repair shop may have, do their backups and stuff... And if someone crashes into me: I get a real good value out of it, because for anything they can see, it's got less than 100,00km (even though the instrument cluster has probably been replaced and started to count from 0 again). Now I need a door lock. The manufacturer asks 240€ for it, but as soon as I get the part number, I'll buy a used one and be happy about it. Or if not, I'll miss the keyfob and lock/unlock on the passenger side, so there's a workaround. Still, it makes it possible to drive a car, even if you don't have thousands to spend at a time!!!
Nothing wrong with the 5.7 hemi, and not as bad on Fuel as you would think, depending on the year. I had a 2012 Ram Sport Crew, with the 5.7, drop to 4 cyls on the hwy, and id easily get 11 l/per 100kms on the hwy. Terrible mileage in town but that POS 3.7 wouldn't be much better. Keep in mind, you've got an NA V6 pushing a heavy pick up truck. Put the 5.0 in the same truck, mileage would be pretty much the same, except more power when you need it. Trucks aren't light. Anyway, I had the 2012 Ram, I've had a 2009 Sierra with the 4.8, and then had a 2014 F150 XTR Crew 4x4. Best one by far for fuel mileage was the Dodge, and it hauled my 31 foot camper like nothing was behind it. I kick myself in the ass every day for trading in that truck.
@@jeffisaliarI agree. And the gas milage is actually pretty good. 20mpg on average. They also seem to last forever. I've heard of countless 3.7s that made it over 400k. I haven't heard of a 5.0 doing that. The 3.5 EB I've heard of them going over 600k but I can't imagine how many turbos they went through to make it that long
I like my 3.7 but my truck was very well maintained and owned by a fleet company that drove it occasionally, sounds like yours wasn’t taken care of and missed a oil change or 2, although I eventually want the 5.0, it’s really not that much faster, it’s just heavier

is calling a windshield a windscreen and Ontario thing or something? the only time I've ever heard anyone referring to it as that were people from the UK
There seem to be holes in the box walls from a topper/shell or something like that, so these should probably be closed in order to not rust? I don't know, we don't really have many pickup trucks over here... ;)
The ecoboost engines run good , but seem to have issues , but then again , they all have issues regardless of brand . Just got to get what you like . Sooner or later there will be the one you like , and want .
V8 could mean the difference of making it up a hill or not making it up a hill in snow and ice without blowing up the motor though. torque and power are what helps you muscle through the rough stuff not gas saving and low power. but then how often are you really going to go anywhere that you would need to climb steep hills in the snow and ice though. answer that and you have your answer as to if the 6 or 8 is the real way to go.
I understand but the 5.0 gets good gas milage as long as you are easy on the pedal very close to the 6 cylinder, plus the 5.0 is more reliable, has more power, and gets much less stress put on it when you do different things so it should last longer. remember the 5.0 is fords pride and joy alongside with the EcoBoost
all of them get good gas mileage if you stay out of the pedal, goes without saying. if you aren't rugging it every time you take off from a light or stop sign then the gas may last a little longer for you. :o)
That dealership was stupid, that truck should have been fixed before they allowed anyone to test drive it, dangerous practice. But at least you gave it a go, just to see if you liked the model :-).
if you want newish with out the new price 2 years old or older is where to start looking. i went with the 06 i did ONLY because it has the 6.0 litre in it and it's AWD, 4 door and the price was right on it. the fact that it's a Cadillac Escalade EXT matters very little to me at all. I'd have been just as happy in an Avalanche or a regular 4 door pickup with the same kind of pulling power. and for having as big of a motor as it does i still get 16 - 18 MPG highway in it which is better than the tahoe i've been driving the last 10 years. thinking of doing a cummins swap into it now actually :o)

I'd stay away from new Fords, their ecoboob 4 bangers of the 2013-now have a recall on the block, and their trucks have a recall on the transmission. Don't be afraid to beat the shit out of the cars on the test drive, you might notice something at higher speeds...Also, don't let them sell you on an extended warranty, they're not worth it. The dealership should really refurbish that vehicle in order to sell it proper. I hate it when vehicles are sold that look nice but are technically sketchy at best. That's why I let my repair shop go over every vehicle I buy. OK, I also got dinged on a transmission and some other stuff, but now it's fine (and it was really cheap).

Adam. You do have some things to be happy about. One of them is your father is financially independent to you. You have to know there are people out there that have to support their old folks. All because the old folks were just incompetent with there finances. Most people don't want to admit that their parents are their biggest barrier to them to move ahead. I replaced the vital stuff like brake lines and calipers, plus a total of $1100 new parts. It gets 28 MPG on fuel. It will be good until at least 2032 when I'll be 101 years old. sounds like a lazy car dealership to me. What dealership would let somebody take a vehicle for a test drive then tell them all the things they will do to it if the person buys it? they should have detailed it and gone over it completely mechanically before even letting anybody see it. I think you would be better off avoiding that place all together because I guarantee you will have lazy customer service as well

I bought a 1999 Corolla new. Put 170k miles on it, Only repair was a starter solenoid ($9) Gave it away in 2014. It now has 215k miles. No repairs. I bought a Tacoma stick in 2000. It has 80k on it. I replaced the vital stuff like brake lines and calipers, plus a total of $1100 new parts. It gets 28 MPG on fuel. It will be good until at least 2032 when I'll be 101 years old. Now have a 2014 Corolla SE that has almost 30k on it. It gets nasty looks because it's fire engine red. Gets 36.7 MPG on fuel. We seldom have snow here, on the west coast USA, so vehicles don't rust much.
VlogginLife Nissan Titan is a great truck my dads has 330,000 on it still runs great and the 5.6L in it is a beast!
Ya, most of the imports seem to have unlimited life.
didn't they recently slam a cummins into the titan?
sounds like a lazy car dealership to me. What dealership would let somebody take a vehicle for a test drive then tell them all the things they will do to it if the person buys it? they should have detailed it and gone over it completely mechanically before even letting anybody see it. I think you would be better off avoiding that place all together because I guarantee you will have lazy customer service as well
Yay potato potential!!! 😂
my truck is best truck... CARSHOW
stay with Ford or GM.
Dodge or GM would be the smarter choice. less to worry about falling apart and less costly to fix when they do.
Buy a ram rt
G6 in trade and 3k off..
what a piece of junk. that stealership clearly did no prep or safery checks before advertising. You're in no rush so test drive lots. Miss the bids, is it 1 a week from now on?
that truck totally sucks
