    I contacted and got a quick replacement. Great customer service. Very impressed here. I will probably purchase another soon.
    Unit works excellent and does have the capacity that it's rated for.

    Great Review and first impressions. Thanks. BTW, i'm searching that these units are using the flat cell battery (battery type 9059156). Would you think that the batteries can be replaced, when necessary? I've tried searching for a .pdf copy of the manual, but not luck.

      geedoy I'm sure it can be replaced, just not designed for users to do themselves like UPS units are.
      Years from now, I will most likely be replacing the batteries, either myself or through the company. Even without the batteries, one can salvage the pure sine wave inverter, and solar controller from it.

    hi Mike. Did you have to purchase a charge controller to use the 100 w suaoki solar panel. or were you able to use the panel directly plugged into the the generator?

    • @ACOSolarInc
      @ACOSolarInc 7 років тому

      you can use 105w or 70w Foldable Solar Panel Kit

    • @julianharvey6584
      @julianharvey6584 4 місяці тому

      You can over watt. As long as you dont exceed 40 volts/10 amps you are good. I use 2 times 100 watt 20 volt panels on mine. The box will take 40 volts and upto 120 watt input. It ignores a higher wattage so on a less than perfect day it will charge quickly. My panels typically produce 150 watt on a decent day so it will charge in about 4 hours on a good day.

  • @atomicsmith

    I'm considering using this for a power source in a van. Do you know if the jump start connector is tied in straight to battery, or is there some kind of circuitry to help it jump start the vehicle?

    • @MikeMu
      @MikeMu  7 років тому

      Hi Adam! There is no separate switch for the jump start portion of the unit, so I imagine when it is on it is tied straight to the battery. I wouldn't advise using it in this scenario though because it is doubtful that there is some BMS to protect the battery should it run too low. You'd probably have to add your own or do a bit more work on it (which I bet you were expecting anyway). It is theoretical though as I haven't actually jump started a car yet...
      However, I would absolutely recommend it for use as a power source in an RV, living off-grid situation - especially for more sensitive electronics (using its pure sine wave inverter). Know that if you tie it directly with a Solar Panel, you should stick with amzn.to/2oLtWSg or something that is rated no higher than 120 Watts as that is the maximum it supports.

    On the suaoki solar generator how long can you watch TV on it and how long can you keep your refrigerator plugged on just a question on the running time with those items please get back to me thank you

    • @MikeMu
      @MikeMu  6 років тому

      It all depends on the TV and refridgerator. Need to know how many watts they consume per hour to work out the rough number. Small fridge (1.6 cu ft) at roughly 100 watts, would give you roughly 4 hours of operation time - but realistically probably 3.25 hours if you factor in inefficiencies of the power conversion.
      Today's modern TVs on LED are pretty power efficient so I expect a full work day shouldn't be a problem for most TVs you might take on the go (up to 40" LED TV).

  • @davidcook5295
    @davidcook5295 7 років тому

    Where can you get service for this item. I got one off Amazon and love it. Used it 2 times for trade shows to power two 40" LED TVs all day.
    One of the USB charge ports is falling apart (I have had it 6 weeks). I went to amazon on day 31 to see about sending it back or what and it was 1 day past the return period. Is there a place to get it serviced or part to fix it. I assume its under warranty.
    Thanks

    • @MikeMu
      @MikeMu  7 років тому

      That's a great question! I can hope someone from Suaoki will answer this for you. I'm sure it is in the warranty paperwork (I think it was 2 years) and the first place I would ask is the sellers you got it from on Amazon. If it is just one USB port, you might find return shipping etc not worth the hassle. The other one it shares with should still be operational right?
      If I were in your situation, and after figuring out how much it would cost and time for them to repair it, I might just use a cigarette lighter USB adapter for all future USB charge use instead.

    • @davidcook5295
      @davidcook5295 7 років тому

      It 2 of the 4...but it charges so fast we all use it at shows. I'm guessing I would have 2-3 phones charging from it a lot. This thing is AWESOME!!!!
      I found their US website and set them an email.

    • @MikeMu
      @MikeMu  7 років тому

      David, did you get this resolved?
      My first line of action is always contacting Amazon customer service about it as well as the seller. Also, for future purchases use a credit card which extends the warranty automatically on anything you buy with a valid USA warranty.

      thanks, Mike. If I connect two 100w solar panels, each one charges twice as fast?

    • @MikeMu
      @MikeMu  5 років тому +1

      @@Ryztrs Not at full capacity, no. There is a maximum limit of Solar input, which I believe was 120 Watts via solar (should check the manual).
      But... my Suaoki 100 Watt panel now seems to ouput up at 60 watts now max. Not sure what happened. So, two of the 100 Watt panels after a while might just put out 120 Watts. So it'd be twice as fast in that case.

      I've been using it about 3 years now, strictly outside covered by patio, connected to my solar panels. I'm sure it's lost some capacity, but it still works. (edit, close to 3 years vs 2).

    • @CiQoStyleZ

      @@MikeMu it is normal that it lost some capacity but how much would you say in percent?

      @@CiQoStyleZ Of course! They are batteries after all. Expect to replace in a few years (the batteries). I can't say for sure since I haven't done a detailed test. Can you charge the unit in 12v car and still have a small fridge ??(charge and discharge in the same time)

    • @MikeMu
      @MikeMu  6 років тому

      Yes you can. Note the maximum charging rate is only 48 Watts from a 12v car source, so it might never catch up to a small fridge (depending on the power draw of course). Also in the manual it states that you can never fully charge the unit through a 12V starting battery source, which makes sense since this is optimized for higher voltages.
      I use it purely with solar so I do not have as much experience with DC charging from the car.

    • @229Reaper

      @@MikeMu well this is want i would like to do of coure,100watt solar panel on the jeep for this generator and run a DOMETIC cfx40 fridge,on Dometic website it say : input voltage(AC)120-240V Input voltage(DC)12/24V. Rated input current(DC)7.0A
      Rated input current (AC) 0.72A
      Input frenquency 50/60 Hz
      Energy consumption 12VDC(ambient 90F)0.74Ah/h
      Do you think its doable with these specs running the fridge with the generator ans solar???

    • @MikeMu
      @MikeMu  6 років тому

      @@229Reaper How long do you need to run the fridge ( amzn.to/2JX4p3e ) for?
      The 100 Watt solar you may get 80 watts input to the battery max in good sunlight. That's almost enough to power the fridge completely off DC jack of the battery pack. And then you have reserve power of maybe 4-5 hours on top of that off the battery in the nominal conditions stated in your comment.
      Note you cannot use two charging sources at the same time to this pack (according to manual). Solar or wall/DC only. Not both at once, so you're going to have to physically switch the source.
      I'd probably run the fridge off your Jeep while you're driving. Switch off to the battery when you're not. Keep the solar charged into the battery pack during the day when you get enough sunlight to exceed 48 watts, plug in to charge from the car during night while driving, or when the sun doesn't provide more than 48 watts.
      Definitely get get more batteries if you plan on doing this long term. I'm afraid there is no substitute for simply mass Ah capacity. And then another thing with this is that you can't simply daisy chain these batteries. So maybe something like the Yeti Lithium might be a better choice amzn.to/2DBDAkO

      Yes, you can use just about any solar panel with similar specs to the one I use ( amzn.to/2gP0mLW ) as long as you convert the connectors to MC4 (standard solar connector) or the Anderson Powerpoles to directly plug into the unit. You cannot use one that exceeds 120 Watt rating when using the built-in solar controller though.
