The isekai selector(truck-kun) randomly selects someone who is displeased with their lives, the power they receive is also random and probably related to that displeasure. Basically rng
From the examples we have their powers seem to originate from a part of their past, like Sensei is a writer who is obsessed with death and tragedy, so he gets a gift involving writing. Mind Control guy was bullied and bossed around at school so he got the ability to control beasts/people, to make pest out of them. So far it tracks with the major characters, I don't know about the minor, one off guys.
6:15 Isekai Oji-san: in a later episode, mc sees his childhood friend talking with a “suspicious looking guy” and thinks it’s either someone harassing her or possibly a boyfriend. He asks Oji-san for help and is granted the ability to use magic by the spirits. Shortly there after, misunderstanding is cleared and the childhood friend asks what was up with the magic. He then goes on about how he was able to cast magic without chanting and how much he can “dispense Justice” with his new found power.
In hindsight the pattern of summoning otherworlder's who are then corrupted by the powers they attained makes sense. In the beginning Annette (elf priestess) said Truck-Kun specifically targets people who are miserable, depressed, sad, etc. That's why Sensei, his lover and Mind Control guy got summoned, they had rotten lives, so Truck-Kun chose them since those were the type of people who were targeted. I think they were going with the whole the downtrodden rise up to become heroes sort of thing. That was short-sighted, obviously when you target really sad people and give them amazing abilities, they go off the rails. A lot of times people who lack power are corrupted by it when they attain it. It also seems all of their powers are based on some aspect of their lives. Sensei was a writer who is obsessed with death and tragedy, so his gift is based on his writing abilities. Pet guy was bulled in school and was bossed around so much he called himself their pet, so his ability is essentially a beast tamer ability that works on sentient beings, he makes other people his pet.
20:50 If you are looking for an anime where MC was able to return, its Zero no Tsukaima (Familiar of Zero), the guy was able to teleport back to his old world. Inuyasha too actually.
i binged these 4 episodes today cause... i was bored. but it was surprisingly good so i enjoyed it very much. also: i wanted to point out something in the first episode involving the coffin. in one of the earlier scenes, Annette is saying Sensai can't go outside because he'd be killed by monsters you can see a cow being grabbed by a monster through a window, as example. it is shown, or more implied. that the cow was pulling the thingie that was containing the said coffin
5:58 and 21:08 there is but its manhwa Title "Hero has returned" Sypnosis: After saving one world, warrior Minsu Kim returns to Earth only to find that he’s lost everything... so he decides to destroy the world he used to call home. In his rampage, he kills teenager Jeongsu Park and his family. But instead of dying normally, Jeongsu is transported to another world, where he finds that he's now a warrior himself. After killing the demon king of this alternate world and honing his skills as a warrior, Jeongsu returns to earth, hell-bent on revenge against Minsu. As the two warriors fight with the fate of their country in the balance, who will emerge victorious?
its honestly one i cant recommend to people but yah if you look at Manwah and unfortunately manhua (the Chinese ones) you get alot more people returning to their home worlds. There is even one where the MC returns to his home world just to return to the other world for revenge. (also i say unfortunately Manhua because even if you find a good one the likelihood of finding good or even consistent translation quality is almost 0%) However with manwah there is a lot of "god sent you to the otherworld to train so you could come back to earth to defend it" or MCs just forcing their way home.
The Executioner and Her Way of Life fits what you're talking about at 5:44. People summoned from our world get powers in the fantasy world that corrupt them the more they are used. Won't go into further detail in case you ever check it out.
Yeah...That aspect will take people out of it very fast. It was an interesting approach to the Isekai genre, but I wouldn't recommend it to most people.
btw, i may be schizo, but after this reveal of his power i think he might write story about himself in the end if he hasn't done it already in the timeline of this anime. Anime doesn't call him by name out loud so idk how author will deal with it.
6.26 i have seen an anime where it is not exactly isekai but have superpower where the mc basically hunting down his friend that got corrupt with power. Anime name : to the abandoned sacred beast.
I wouldn't even say that this is a case of pure power corruption. It's more a combination of power, 2 shitty worlds AND this "Welcome Hero! You're Overpowered! Here's the door! Good Luck!" method of dealing with Otherworldlers. ... He wouldn't have ended this way if he had received some guidance and maybe a good party instead of being tossed out overpowered and depressed.
18:26 but if we look in another way. If there is atleast one person who can defy his fate and remain good then he will be true hero. Maybe that is how they see it

There is one anime called executioner and something something. The executioner kills the isekai character when they get a skill. People hate the show though.
Rapper bro is a hodgepodge of American stereotypes and the annoying rl tendencies that give birth to them - and I say this as an American lol And Ysha didn't give Suzuki his power, she only taught him how to use it
The isekai reincarnation system is so dumb and this anime shows you why. Imagine picking some depressed lonely loser, dumping them in another country, alone, and giving them a gun. From the audience looking through the MC perspective it makes sense as a power fantasy but it really is just a bad idea all around.
Well I think the “tuxedo man” was the one who killed the former dark lord. Though I think it was a team effort since the “tuxedo man” said “we” when he was talking to the restraint beast

Isn't that that manhwa was considered super edgy to the point of being silly? Or I'm talking about different isekai?
@kos2919 yes it very much is very edgy
Im not recommending this because I too dropped this around chapter 10
I thought the hero on chapter 1 is the main character

Truck kun is a service by the goddess. (An actual truck lore). They pick unfortunate souls (at least ones they think are unfortunate.)
