I remember it too,as I was in the same grade and how shocking it was. Took me a couple of days to realize it was because a evil man told them to do it and my shock at how could anyone kill children and honestly thought it was for the child not to have to live in a cruel world. Where he was was a much crueler world than mine. But the numbers of the dead was so high. I believe that's when I knew that you couldn't trust everyone in your life that it was only safe if you went with your guys and I still can't believe he had that big of following leave what they knew just to follow a insane man getting more insane day by day.
I am from Guyana and remembered hearing my parents talk about this horrific incident. It’s so sad how he manipulated all those people. Hope their souls rest in eternal peace.

I have been to Guyana (my first wife was Guyanese) and I remember asking about where the temple was. I was told, in 1985, that the area was so remote, it was impossible to get to. Then I fully understand how there was no escape (except for a couple of people) from the carnage.
I came to America in 1988 I was about 7 years old. I never knew about it until I came to America and heard my parents mention it and I had lots of questions. Until I got much older and watched documentaries and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Knowing how remote parts of Guyana is, it’s very hard to try an get away and stay alive.
Greg that is very judgemental. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your post. They "they," your referring to is that the leaders or the followers or both? Totally my opinion but it's my belief that God understands mental illness and I think it's clear their was mental illness involved here (followers) along with brainwashing and manipulation. Not to mention because of their location there was literally no other way out. As a mother myself I can't imagine the Watchung my child die and got me personally I would definitely willing follow my child into the there after. I wouldn't be able to live with that and that's why he took the children first. As for the leaders of this cult I believe they are most definitely burning I'm hell. Again obviously there was mental illness involved but Jones was a false profit and in the end a murderer. I'm sure there were many other unimaginable acts committed as there always is in cults. It's such a sad and horrific story I. History. It's my hope and prayer we can all learn from it and prevent such atrocities from happening again. I find it interesting if Jones really believed his teachings why was he executed by a followers instead of "laying down his life" as he said.
How totally horrific! This story has always messed with my head. How can ppl get so twisted as to believe and follow someone like this. Obviously mental illness was involved in both leaders and followers. Even if or when they decided they wanted out their was no other way. I can't imagine what it must have been like to be I'm that moment and to be the one to feed poison to my child and watch them die. I would in that position follow my child into the thereafter. The one question I would ask Jim Jones the False profit. If he truly believed his teachings and was "tired of it all" and expected his followers to "lay down thier lives" as he claimed he was ready to do..why then was he executed by a surviving follower? Instead of drinking the kool-aid? What a coward!

I absolutely love how Josh called Jim jones out for the person he really was. The two they were interviewing almost seemed to praise him in a way and it’s sickening. That man took so many lives. Yes, the adults made their choice to follow but all the innocent children did not

I agree with one exception, there were some adults practicing free will, but the adults were in large part highly susceptible to Jones's power due to mental health issues or simply being the product of highly dysfunctional childhoods which left them craving "Love" and acceptance. I personally believe that we need to address who and what Jones while giving a bit of compassion for those who were ripe for his manipulation. 😢
I would argue that the adults didn't make the choice to follow most where made drink others where brain washed the poor kids to hear them scream they knew what was about to happen fucking sickening

Fantastic episode, this is probably the scariest place I've ever seen you investigate. Heartbreaking to think of all his victims and hear them on the footage. It was odd that the people interviewed seemed to be defending him though, as far as I'm concerned a person such as that is indefensible. Can you imagine doing a paranormal investigation in Jonestown, Guyana? Be brilliant to take a huge team and put them all at rest/peace. Particularly the children who had no choice because their parents forced them.
Although the amount of real security you would need would make it difficult due to how unsafe it is there.
I was born in 76' and knew about this horrible event my whole life. There are many cults today that still continue. Unfortunately, if they are able to become a legal church then they are protected by so many laws. Its awful.

There is absolutely nothing anyone can say, do or prove, for me to ever have the slightest bit of remorse for that murderer. You cannot forgive anyone who purposely harms children and the innocent. It's a small town, small towns tend to want thier town and people of the town remembered for the good things in the town. If he was good and kind in the time he was there then no point making the town look bad for his good life there. Small town folks are a different type of people, they love everyone even when they are ugly(bad) so long as they don't involve that beautiful town in a negative way.

It's unbelievably heart wrenching to hear those innocent children screaming and crying in the background. This was a pretty scary episode! Some of the evidence captured-WOW!

Those children were screaming in pain from the poison they drank… it’s horrifying. I heard some of the audio of that final moment and the children all stop crying and screaming one by one. What a wicked and cruel human Jim was.

Had friends with family that were members..My brother-in-law was in the military and part of the team that went in and investigated the deaths in Guyana. I was 14 years old when the Guyana tragedy happened. I remember watching the newscasts and how affected I was by them. It was horrible. Mothers crying and shaking their heads because they didn't want to give the poison to their babies. Jones would tell them to push their emotions aside, just do it. It's important to know that these people DID NOT have a choice. If they refused to drink the koolaide, they were shot. He was telling them, "Drink the elixir, go quietly, choose the peaceful way" They would be shot. It was horrible. Mass murder. It truly affected me as a teenager. And in the 70's it was a time where cults were the "fad" Just a bad time. Parents kidnapping their own children from these fanatical cults and deprogram them because they were so brainwashed. It was time of alot of lost souls trying to find meaning. Awful

When Josh uses that White Noise Box that shows like a fuzzy T.v. image at 1:04:00. You can see what appears to be a ghostly Face of someone or something. The face appears in the bottom right corner. Clear as day and creepy as hell. Anyone else see the face? It's only there for a few seconds if that but its 100% a face of someone I think.

I was neglected and rejected by my mother when I was just a toddler. I have a lot of issues and unfortunately became addicted to alcohol and drugs but I would absolutely never hurt others or commit murder. I've caused pain on myself and that was enough to deal with. Hundreds of innocent people lost their lives because of one man. It's horrific.
I wish I could SHOW YOU the love of Jesus! He really can heal you of your pain & suffering. He can wipe that hurt, damage & pain you carry!! I know it may sound simple & to easy, but have you ever asked Him to forgive you of any sins & said to Him you believe He IS your Lord AND SAVIOR & to save you ?? Believe me, from that moment on, your never the same person. You now BELONG to God, your part of a new family, & guaranteed a place in Heaven when you lv this world! No hell, no wandering around like these spirits w/no home!! We only have one shot at this when we learn how & what we must do to be saved.

There is a big difference between natural knocks and bangs and paranormal knocks and bangs. All those attic knocks that came in 3's were intentional and intelligent and clearly paranormal. Each one gave me chills. Bravo to you guys for sitting thru that kind of activity 👏

I've watched every video you all have ever posted, including the original channel. This has to be one of, if not the most, haunted place you all have ever investigated, and that is saying a lot! The amount of knocking is off the charts, and the full body apparition is the icing on the cake. It's completely unreal. If I didn't know how legit you guys are, I would be calling fake for sure. I am amazed.

It’s interesting how the first two people being interviewed we’re almost sympathetic to Jim Jones, and in reality that was a part of his charisma. He had a way of bonding with the homeless, and bonding with the less fortunate because that’s where he came from. Even though he was a preacher at a big church, there was still that dysfunctional person in him that related very easily to other dysfunctional people. And coming from growing up in a dysfunctional household, myself, with an alcoholic father, for my entire first 18 years of my life, you’re always looking for someplace to be excepted and for someone to want you around. You’re always looking for a connection or some type of family, and these people fell right into his web. I grew up a dysfunctional person, but I also didn’t leave 900 people to their death. Jim Jones was evil. That was in him from the beginning. He manipulated people and he used people for his vision. From that building, I feel a strong sense of protection that Jim is still there. I feel he is a type of person that is always watching. Just as how he was in real life is how he is in the afterlife. Very creepy.

Yes me too the bodies and the little children and Jones's henchmen lined up if all those people didn't drink the punch with arsenic in it they were shot on the spot. That is an extremely painful death. And 2 senators went down to check on the people and they were gunned down. Absolutely awful. I feel so bad for the families of all those people.

Time 1:02:41 there is a black shadow in the doorway behind Josh. Initially it caught my attention because a small light had been shining and went out. If you enlarge the frame as it’s playing you’ll see a blackish figure on the right side of the doorway. By far the scariest one. ❤

I will never forget the cover of Time Magazine, it was difficult to wrap my 7th grade brain around how one person could have such an influence over so many people. I’ve seen a lot of bad things in 28 years as a LEO and understand now how bad people can take advantage and influence others. That image is still is haunting to me. Great Episode as always! I remember watching the news of the Mass Suicide in Jonestown Guiana. The murder of congressmen Ryan,and the delegation at they were trying to leave. I was 12 at the time, and the devastation was absolutely horrendous and heartbreaking how all these people had been scammed by this tyrant.

Yeah, trying to figure out what her deal was / is. I can't tell if she's defending the innocence of the energies that were there, or if she's tapped into something else due to the amount of time she has spent there.

32;22 right as you turn to look behind you after that device comes on, there's a mans voice that says "I scare you" 47:37ish after you say "47' the voice i heard sounded like either "Mark of death" Or "Marks with ya" 56:25 after shaun hears that noise and directly after the replay of it there is a voice deep in the background hard to make out but sounds like it says either "All demons in here or All devils in here or out devils in here' 1:12:50 after Shaun asks if you're down here with us, a mans voice says "Pray"
