- The blade location on the outside of large diameter drums creates very high blade speed, efficiently cutting just about any type of grass or forage.
The drums are precisely balanced for a smooth, vibration-free run.
Tough, long lasting, easy-to-replace wear discs are freewheeling at the bottom of the mower drums. The carefully selected suspension spring reduces down pressure.
The drums are driven by a heavy duty gearbox equipped with quiet bevel gears. Simple gearbox design with a minimum number of moving parts is one of the features that make this mower virtually maintenance-free. The gearbox is filled with grease, rather than oil, eliminating any chances of leaks and allowing the mower to work on slopes. The high location of the gearbox also protects it from mechanical damage.
48072The metal hood resists abuse as well as heavy snow during winter storage. Metal rails around the safety curtain protect the most exposed areas of the curtain, extending its life considerably.
Switching from working to transport position is effortless. On models 165 and 185, just swing the mower back (no hydraulic outlets required on the tractor).
Model 185H uses hydraulic cylinder to lift the mower up.
The breakaway safety system protects the mower when a drum hits an obstacle.

Blades are reversible and twisted for a high quality cut and increased safety. Blades are mounted on large diameter pins and retained by a proven quick-release system for quick change.

All lawnmowers with drums have an issue of imbalance with the result that they appear damaged. Over time, soil enters the vertical rollers and the cutter begins to break down....

We have a problem with ours where it's leaving a strip of grass in the middle but it only happens sometimes in a field so you'll have small strips scattered around a field
We reckon its the blades are too short would that be right or has anyone else found that problem, a neighbour of mine has the same problem
Might be also a case of tightening the drive belts When they get loose the mower is not spooling up fast enough and leaves uncut grass..
The knives are blunt and the grass is too trampled. Just put the tractor in a lower gear to make it move slower and the mower will have more time to cut the grass in this place, even with dull blades. It is best to start mowing with sharpened blades
