@@jcnot9712eh, I watched destiny's reaction, debrief, and prep with XQC... it seems that was quite the opposite lol. Honestly, XQC is truly just delusional and doesn't seem to be comprehending what's been said by anyone. He genuinely believes he did great in the debate and looked good, he's 100% in the right, made Ethan look bad, that Ethan was malding the entire time (from the very start of the debate), and was throwing down amazing gotchas. He literally started his convo with Destiny saying "tell me how right I am". He essentially had a meltdown because Destiny wouldn't agree that he did well and looked good. He repeatedly freaked out because he wanted to break things down with destiny, but destiny refused to give him asspats and told him that his arguments did actually make sense.
It's honestly alarming how detached from reality he is and the complete lack of self awareness. It's not like he was playing it up or trying to make it entertaining... he was genuinely raging at multiple points.

You can't be copystriked for playing a video game that you paid for on stream. Not only did you pay for the video game you can't get the full experience of the video game from watching someone else play it. Like if somebody watched you play Minecraft it doesn't ruin the whole game for them. But if you re upload the entirety of someone else's video there's no reason for someone to go watch the original video. This in itself is cannibalistic by Nature. I personally don't think it's about reacting harder. React to whatever you want on stream don't re-upload the entire video on UA-cam with the same exact thumbnail and title in order to leech off the algorithm. I can't tell if you guys just don't understand this or you're purposely muddying the waters.
Definitely feel like this is most people's position who don't like react content. I think this is a pretty understandable position.
I do think reacting to videos on stream is bad like you said both acts are bad but I think uploading the entire UA-cam video with barely anything added to it with the same thumbnail and title it's very parasitic. As far as I know twitch doesn't have a algorithm like UA-cam That's recommending old twitch streams for people to watch. And also the twitch stream isn't the same exact title and thumbnail as every single video they reacted to within it. I could go on but no one cares. I don't know why streamers think Impressions don't matter.
Edit. After talking with some people I've realized you definitely can be copyright striked for playing a game on stream, especially if the game has music in the background. Whoever made that music owns the copyright. Most video game developers just don't follow through with copyrights because they consider it a positive for advertisement. Which is understandable cuz you can't get the full experience from watching somebody else play a game.

At about 29:29 in. Papa Gut you're wrong about market substitutes. Many reactors believe that something being a market substitute means all the viewers who watched a reaction would have 100% watched the original. So if a reaction is watched by even some people who would not have watched the original, the reaction can never be a market substitute. This is false.
As an example. If I upload a reaction to Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken that contained 100% of the movie then uploaded that completely unedited video to youtube. I would still be creating a market substitute as there would be no reason to go to the theater or buy the dvd if I saw a reaction that contained the entire movie within it. Me getting sued and telling the judge "but you can't prove that 100% of the people who saw my reaction would've purchased tickets to see the movie" would not hold up in court. Market substitutions are not so much about the people watching the substitute and what they would've watched otherwise. They are more about "can watching this media substitute someone going out and financially supporting and/or purchasing the original media?" I really wanted to point this out because I believe you've used this factually incorrect argument in other videos the past.

When the internet anarchist says that impressions on his video was reduced by 80% after XQC uploaded his reaction to it I don't think he's talking about views. I think views and impressions are different. I'm not entirely sure. But views I believe come from when someone clicks the video and watches for a period of time. I believe impressions can be views but also it just showing up in people's feed. Even if they're just scrolling past it. So when he says impressions were down 80% I think he means that his video was 80% less visible after XQC's upload.

At 11:00 your missing the point PapaGut the reactors ARE cannabalizing the original content, especially when they don’t give credit in any way or in the case of like Hasaan literally steal the video title and stealing the thumbnail putting himself over it. Hasaan is going to rank higher in the algorithim before the smaller creator would its simple YT knowledge. If 30 other huge reactors make videos on a topic before you do that’s limiting the amount of market share ie; views that YOU PapaGut would make. The only people that would be interested are A)People that haven’t seen the original or the 30 other reactions
B)People that are already subscribed OR have already have a vested interest in what you say. As long as those reactors don’t post the YT content they aren’t competing algorithimically w the original.
Thats literally the whole reason why people want to be the first one to cover a topic because it matters how much competition there is on a certain video topic or subject

The "different audiences" thing hasnt ever really made sense to me personally. You could maybe argue that for twitch viewers as they'll stay in one place longer, but youtube viewers bounce from video to video, topic to topic constantly. A good example is mr beast, saying you dont think you have viewer crossover is just showing you're nieve to his true reach lmao, hes the biggest youtuber, i dont think theres a single community that doesnt have some of his fans in it. Hell i watch some of his vids from time to time, youtube viewers can and do watch a whole bunch of people.
Also lastly and unrelated, can a single person genuinely nail down WHY people watch xqc? I legitematly have never been able to nail down the draw to him. Legit every other popular streamer has a draw, attractiveness, comedy, skill, and xqc just has a stutter. Is it just a lolcow thing? It’s not really as complicated as you might think. Copyright doesn’t care what platform it’s on. In order for a video or a vod to fall under fair use, you either need permission to use the media, or you have to provide enough change to the original media to classify as a parody. So what you do would be fair use due to the fact that the video isnt constantly playing, you’re providing a decent amount of commentary, and you have a game playing in the background. Just smacking your face on a video in my opinion, is not transformative enough. You would need permission to just sit there and watch it, no questions asked

17:18 This might be a “one guy” typa situation but I personally do watch your reactions instead of watching the core videos most times. Mainly because a lot of the stuff you react to are from creators I don’t personally follow, and it’s mainly for the conversational aspect of it. I feel like where the problem is with that same situation though, is people are using reaction channels almost as a For You Page situation where all of the most viral content is being pushed in their face by that UA-camr. "Transformative uses may include criticizing the quoted work, exposing the character of the original author, proving a fact, or summarizing an idea argued in the original in order to defend or rebut it. They also may include parody, symbolism, aesthetic declarations, and innumerable other uses."

    • @Eacles
      @Eacles Рік тому +4

@@lukejax1407 Because in order for something to be transformative you need to be engaging with the original media. If you are just saying random things that have no relevance to the original then you are not "transforming" anything. You need to engage with the original media to justify using the original media in your own video. Otherwise you are profiting off of someone else's work for no reason, which could get you into legal trouble. It's like that one excuse xqc used not too long ago where he said he was just "showing cool videos to his viewers." If that's what he's doing, then he is admitting to not transforming the content, so any fair use argument he could possibly come up with would be dead on arrival. Same thing here. If you're just saying random things that are unrelated to the original video, then you are not transforming it and there is no reason to show the original video. Especially not 100% of it like most reactors do when they shouldn't.
I said this in another comment on another video, but transformative is NOT "runtime of original video versus runtime of the reaction." If you were to upload an 8 hour reaction to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse that contained 100% of the movie and posted it to youtube the video would rightfully get taken down. You running to a judge and saying "But the movie is just over 2 hours and my reaction was 8 hours! That means its automatically fair use!" will not fly in court. It is not about runtime of the reaction, it is about how much of the original media did you use and how much was it altered. By your logic, streaming ANY movie is fair use and transformative so long as the livestream stays live for at least 4 hours.
And yes, this means "pausing to talk" is not automatically transformative.

But also, it's a dumb argument because it's more about XQC not being able to reflect on his on behavior.
If you and Ethan just let him finish for a second it would probably explained. Yall the same bro.

Ethan will literally do the same shit XQC does, but with more coherent words. Because English is his first language. This whole argument was just an argument, there was no debate.😂

Ethans work has literally been determined as transformative in court, and the judge was pretty clear as to why. Xqcs outube videos often wouldn't meet those standards. Someone else's, such as papagut, likely would.
And people need to stop pretending being coherent isn't important. Sitting mumbling in the corner isn't transformative, or critique.

@bibsp3556 Just because one of your videos passes, the qualification for being transferformative does not mean every single 1 of yours videos is going to.
second of all, the whole point of my comment was just saying that they were just trying to argue with each other. There was no real debate or at least not a whole hearted effort from either of them to make it a real debate.

@Gorillaspoons well of course most peoples videos won't all be transformative but it's determined by the majority. Even though not all will be, you still should try to make sure they are, and if they aren't, don't try to get more money off of them since that's stealing from the original creator. Most debates aren't really productive since most people aren't open to changing their opinions, so debating really is to just try to change their opinion or to try to convince the audience and maybe sometimes just for a ego boost. So overall I don't think he did it just to argue I think he was interested in why people think something different from him and so he asked XQC which definitely wasn't productive since all XQC could do was act like a toddler going through a tantrum.
