The life of ten thousand myrmidon for 15 of the best prisoners, the heroes of the campaign left dead in the middle of an infinite pool of red. Seems a decent trade if you ask me
During this mission on Titan I turtled long enough for around 7 Plenty Vaults, starting from the same TC you used, and then eventually overwhelmed the AI. It took a bit of time, but it's absolutely possible to destroy everything Gargarensis has.
It's pretty impressive how BoIt never restarts these missions that go to hell XD I just immediately restart as soon as something goes wrong so I can restrategize and win on the next try
You really have to take out their military buildings and then dip. It really is dumb how hard the AI pumps out units as the difficulty goes up. RIP to the Argos, that boat held em off while the half-lings escaped, a real Boromir.
How i did it on hard, after many tries: juke the meteor with pegasus, take most northern settlement, set up a bottleneck with multiple fortresses and towers and temple of healing. Slow push towards the dock with an insane amount of ships (around the hydra), but not further unless you are ready. Get the most southern settlement for the extra gold, and then rely on mass plenty vaults. I had like 40+ villagers on favor. If you can stabilise, you win. Slow push into the main base, and the rest is a breeze
@@ImStevan I don't understand the exact mechanisms behind it, but it seems there are certain points that if you get LOS to them, meteor gets triggered. If you're go the way they intend, you'll juke. But if you go for the other settlements, the meteors tend to hit your villagers or transport ships
1:02 lol never noticed it before but it does seem funny that the transport ship has a house like thing on it, makes you wonder even more how a bunch of colossus fit inside it
I think the key here is to take the base in the top corner first. The 1st priority is to destroy the two enemy docks in that corner. After that, their navy never respawns, the ocean is your domain and you can fish freely. Also, it means you can take the island settlement in the opposite corner, at the bottom of the map. That base is completely safe once the enemy navy is gone. You slowly build up your economy and upgrades until you're ready to take the two settlements in the middle. Chimeras are excellent here, due to how many units get thrown at you and the tight areas you are fighting in. I also think Hephaestus is more useful than Hera, because gold is where you're really getting crunched.
As prisoners are invisible to the enemy, they only die to aoe damege effects. I managed to beat this mission by sacrificing my army multiple times to destroy only the necessary buildings to set them free. Also, underworld helps a lot.
This mission was nuts. I tried Hephaestus my first time but couldn't make any headway with the base on top of the ramp and the fact that 1 Chimera basically 1 shots any number of archers/myrmidons (pre-bug fix). On my second try I went with Hera and just massed Medusa with a handful of Myrmudins/Heliopolis to tank. It went way better with the Medusa sniping everything and especially the Chimeras with their ability.
The initial strategy was good, only instead of making helepolis, Toxotes are the ones that complement the Myrmidons. Myr+Tox combo sweeps through the whole map, (Myrm kill all and buldings, Tox counter the hypaspist anti infantry). I did in on Titan, and rescued all the prisoners and took over the whole map. Making semi useless helepolis was a waste of gold.
2nd hardest mission after the original mission 18. Incredible hard to push through the center, get those additional settlements asap and prepare trade. Nothing felt better then breaking them and rescuing evry single Atlantean. The green Akropolis can be discovered with Amanras jump, looks amazing
Yeah, pretty sure Gargarensis just has infinite resources here. On the other hand (I might be trauma repressing), I don't think I ever saw villagers of his, so he might never rebuild houses and buildings so sacrificing armies to just rush the buildings might make it easier to a degree. This scenario feels overtuned as hell honestly, especially if you don't choose Hephaestus and just turtle up on plenty vaults.
Literally one of the most difficult missions of all time. Streamed it for 3 hours last night. Had three different attempts and finally resulted in choosing Hera for the free myrmidons. It was absolutely ridiculous.
If you want to do this no cheese, take water first, destroy all his docks and then pincer attack north and south and just focus his production buildings down, the temples must go asap
I haven't tried it but i noticed i never got attacked on the middle 2 settlements from the north, untill i made a second settlement. I think the waves of enemies are based on which and how many towncenters you have. With the villager centers, this could be cheesed
Did this on Titan, built TC on the small southern island, full naval defence while i built a mix of seige and heroes, dropped them in directly on the prisoners with underworld passage then sent them back through with the prisoners asap
I did manage to beat this whit Hera and rushed Argive Patronage. Backing them up whit ALOT of Medusas and a few catapults. Slowely push whit catapults and the rest protects them. Myrmidons take care of heroes, medusas takes care of myth units. Since the AI don't rebuild military buildings, they are the main target, and why the army are focusing on protecting the catapults rather then being offensive
Man it's a singleplayer experience who cares. Let the guy finish the singleplayer missions how he wants. He already tryhards on ladder no need to tryhard on the campaign too
The earthquake sound bug really adds to the feeling of the whole plan falling apart

LOL I hadn't thought about that
Saving private ryan ahhh vibe

Exactly the same strategy and difficulty! We are friends now!
is duking the meteors with pegasi not something everybody does?
Just started the video, nvm

They really put the correct greek plural for Hydra in there huh
Honestly though Gargarensis is such a cool dude for taking prisoners.
This episode was SUCH a wild ride! Well played, Boit!

Watching this live was a fantastic experience

Solid strats, but you cant build Chimera though, because you can't worship Artemis

I made sure I had 15 plus manticores at all times and this mission was a breeze.

31:34 “there is no way i can beat this dude” is something i said probably 1000 times hahaha

amanras jump? fly, my pegasus..
Mission 30, all is not lost, is more crazy though imo
The chimera were literally the bane of my existence

This mission started off really hard but becomes pretty easy (but annoying) if you go hephaestus and just let your economy be several plenty vaults
Yeah, I legit don't feel like this mission is tuned to be beaten without a bunch of plenty vaults with the completely nonsensical spam.
Agreed
43:08 DAMN! TODO ESTA EN RUINAS!.
ME ENCANTA TU CONTENIDO VOLT :D BLESS
Did this on Titan, built TC on the small southern island, full naval defence while i built a mix of seige and heroes, dropped them in directly on the prisoners with underworld passage then sent them back through with the prisoners asap
This and “far from home” are the only missions I couldn’t beat on hard
23:05 this no longer happens since my vasectomy... 23:55 at least I can go through the front now though

Monstrous rage upgrade + Minotaur carried me though this mission
Refreshing to have a mission where it's better not to brute force it
mmm navy got JEBAITED
Honestly I kind of cheesed this mission by using underworld like 3 times to get to prisoners and just rush the objective buildings
At the end of the 3 campaigns I want a redo of the cheesed ones, I was able to do them unchessed on Titan, so can you :P
Man it's a singleplayer experience who cares.
Let the guy finish the singleplayer missions how he wants. He already tryhards on ladder no need to tryhard on the campaign too
Not enough fortresses imo...
I couldn't do this mission without abusing underworld passage
I thought we lost. 😂😂😂
This one isn't on the playlist btw
Fixed ty!
