One of the best ads I've ever seen. Short, clear and concise, gets to the point with actual information instead of "omg this is so amazing! buy now!". I'm pretty excited for the Steam Deck!
There was no hardware info so you don't even know what you are paying for. It literally was just an "OMG!!! This is so amazing! Buy it right now!" advertisement. The irony...
@@markokuosmanen to be fair it explains pretty much all the features an average consumer would be paying attention for: controls, storage and support (do ads that show off technical data like cpu speeds even exist? Like, other than ads for the actual cpus themselves)
@@gamespender8605 I guess it depends on what people care about. If that's all that most of the people want to know about a product before buying then I guess its a great advertisement. I've seen smartphone and laptop advertisements that mention some of the specs such as screen size, screen type, battery size, storage space size, the amount of memory and the chipset without going too technical on the details (too technical for the average consumer that is).
@@markokuosmanen When have you seen a smart phone or laptop commercial in the past 10 years that cared about specs that wasn't an outright misrepresentation of its meaning? Most phones and prebuilt PCs have about the same specs on paper these days of competitors. The majority of CPU clock speeds haven't broken 5 ghz in about a decade, the majority of core counts have been about 4 to 8 cores for the past ten years. There are no metrics to communicate to consumers about the benefits of Zen 2 & RDNA2 APUs in a metric they can understand, and the 2.4-3.5 ghz, 4-core, 16GB RAM specification of the Steam Deck is a misrepresentation of its actual power compared to what consumers understand about traditional electronics. The battery life is variable to what the user is doing, the screen and storage varies between tiers in a way that cannot be expressed in a ~minute ad. All the people need to know in a ~minute is that Valve has a new handheld PC product, because people know Valve hardware is high quality and had a lot of thought put into what they need.
I have heard, that ChimeraOS is based on Arch, too. And it starts with Steam in Big Picture Mode, too. So it can be possible, that SteamOS 3.0 is a fork of ChimeraOS. But currently are not much informations about SteamOS 3.0.

To be honest, the trackpads are the best part of this device. I recommend looking at Nerdcast's video on how to use the keyboard with the steam controller(which uses the same trackpads, except the Steamdeck will likely be improved)

@@michaelawesome1864 Wait until you play any strategy game and you'll ask your entire life how did you played before with a controller... Anything that you need to point and click.
Well, I’m pretty sure they are mentioning it for 2 reasons. 1. Because games take up ALOT of storage these days. 2. The onboard storage only goes up to 512GB, which when it comes to Steam, a lot of PC users have an enormous amount of games on Steam so expandable storage had to be on the cards for Steam, otherwise a lot of people probably wouldn’t reserve one or ever get one.

@@V3ntilator Not really. The Neo is just a manufacturer cramming ultrabook hardware into a Switch form factor, which is neat, but it's still just running Windows with off the shelf components. The Steam Deck is getting a full custom software suite and hardware tuning akin to any big game console, while still being a fully open PC. That's where the excitement is. Also because it's price is fucking insane for what you get, and the fact that your entire Steam library is just there on launch.

@@markokuosmanen to be fair it explains pretty much all the features an average consumer would be paying attention for: controls, storage and support
(do ads that show off technical data like cpu speeds even exist?

Well, I’m pretty sure they are mentioning it for 2 reasons. 1. Because games take up ALOT of storage these days. 2.
