Yep, fully agree. I made the same experience with having produced close to 200 videos and spent a full year working with it. On Linux it even supports the amdgpu open source driver for accelerating video presentation and (!) rendering (encoding). There are some small glitches but it never crashed. Never ever! I really can recommend Lightworks.
that logo may not be pretty but it sure is iconic
I would've liked to see how to handle basic UI operations like zooming in and out, cutting clips, bringing in clips, etc (basic editing).

Thank you EJ for your videos, is it possible to do one about making a free intro like yourse
I use the free version of Lightworks, does everything I need it to. But looking to upgrade from free to a paid version of Lightworks soon.
Thankful that they offer an outright buy it forever option, unlike some editors.
Yeah restricting the resolution to a max of 720p is a deal breaker. Glad I watched your review. Thanks!
same
@@whoknows8500 restricted to 720p for free version or for paid version too?
Just the free version
@@EJTech. You feel light works pro is better than filmora?
I haven't used Filmora in a while. But I have heard good things about it. I might have to revisit it!
Hi, what is the best free video editor in your opinion? I used camtasia and sony Vegas free trials in the past but unfortunately I can't spend any money on a video editor right now.
I also used Sony Vegas. However, I recommend using DaVinci Resolve. It has the same advanced features like Sony Vegas. However, it does include more effects that you can find in each "panel". It is really intuitive and easy to use. But if you want to get more serious editing work done, there is going to be some learning involved. There is two versions, one is Resolve which free and the other one is the Studio which is not free. But I recommend giving DaVinci Resolve a try.
The gap between the free version and pro it’s too great. 720p will be a barrier prevent a lot of people - - that’s the idea is it to get you to buy pro version…. Problem is pro version cost to $240 a year -that’s right; $480 by year two… Four years of Lightworks and you’ve spent $1000. Hello?! Subscriptions are a scam. 720p limit is meant to create frustration
And this is probably the only one video editing software which include my language. I'm so happy!
on mine it says its not free 7 day free trail i thought it was free
Compared to shot cut and vsdc is lightworks user friendly? I found it kinda complicated
I would say that its right in the middle. Way easier than VSDC and just different from Shotcut. Both shotcut and lightworks are easy to use but just different.
Does anyone have a review on the Pro version and how it compares to FCP and Premiere? - I just want to do multicam editing in 1080p60
I think if lightworks didn't crash every 3 minutes it would be really good
With The new upgraded Lightworks this month. For whatever reason its not Lightworks14 anymore. When I try to edit my videos the audio is staticy and hasitent. Can you tell me if that is a frame problem or not. Thanks
I found Lightworks Pro to be an excellent alternative to DaVinci Resolve. I liked DaVinci but I am not a fan of their node based colour grading.
Which do you recommend between the Pro version of this and the Studio version of Davinci Resolve?
DaVinci. No brainer.
If it's good enough for Scorsese, it's good enough for me
See the problem im having is i dont know how to combine 2 things into one so when i import it into youtube it sees the video as not all the parts as one but as individuals
hebatnya lightworks video editing tanpa watermark ketika di upload di UA-cam
Is green screen editing available in lightwork free version ? Please reply
I believe so, just to double check you'll have to go to the vfx panel and look for green screen or chromakey to key out the green screen.
congrats, new sub.
Nice video bro
i really want that version but for some reason its gone
Runs great on Windows. Does not run well on Linux (MINT). If you delete a clip from Lightworks, It is deleted from the computer. Too scary for me. I had the paid version. Ran much better on Windows than Premier(Windows 7, over two years ago).
about the whole deleting thing, is that only for Linux or is it on windows too?
@@moonrising858 It is a feature of LW. Good for Pros maybe.

I downloaded it and when i tried to open it it wouldnt open could someone help me
Same problem here. Hope tech support can fix it. Seems lots of people have activation issues.
Is it easyer than davinci resolve?
DaVinci resolve is easier.
as a new content creator i cant wait to use this until my next semester of school!
worst software ever. Literally crashed every single time try and use it.. trim a clip? crash, add audio? crash. Fade out? crash.
System runs DaVinci Resolve without a hiccup, but Lightworks collapses with the tiniest file... genuinely thinking all these positive comments are paid bots.. lmao.
This editing software is a fucking joke. Creates sound glitches in almost every project. Useless.
Kdenlive is better.
Are we using the same software? Been using it for the last week or so, trying it out. Totally disagree with you. It's utter crap. Flaky, very limited & an utter pain in the rectum to use. BTW I've been editing for 20 years, so kinda know what I'm on about. There are loads of free alternatives way better than this. Avoid.
Well, this video came out a year ago so... A lot has changed.
You can go with DaVinci, if you have powerful computer, otherwise Kdenlive is the best choice😅
Honestly trash software
