    I did the same with just a drill. Drilling heats up bolt at melts the plastic, but instead of molding in new inserts I used self-threading stainless steel inserts.

      Good catch! Yes if you try to drill the heads out too quickly you can build up heat and risk melting the plastic. Good to know that those self threading inserts are an option! I would also be careful threading those in to make sure the plastic doesn’t crack from the added pressure but that also sounds like a really good solution. Thanks for sharing!

    what are those brass inserts? in the uk so i can't buy the kit unfortunately. don't know where to look get brass inserts like that.

      Hey there, I do offer international shipping if you would like a kit. The inserts themselves are M4 x 0.7. There are numerous different types of inserts so I can’t guarantee whatever you may find will fit. The nature of this project is very DIY so it’s likely the same amount of effort will be needed.       I ended up using M4x0.7 stainless screws. I have a kit liked in the description if you are interested!
