    For hydration get a large irrigation syringe. There was also something called scuda it was a mouth piece that a small hose was attached & it led to a iv bag

    We need a gambling pool. The closest one to the half hour wins 👍. Now considering food, sleeping and pooping. Then skin care issues, the challenge will be multiplied as time goes on. You need a anchor point.
    Also, keep the outside bar and restaurant open for the dive watching. Gives us Islanders a reason to be out late at night.
    Mostly be safe 👍

    Hi Justin, I am a pro DIR (Hogarthian diver). I think your harness was designed for that. I use both stages on my left side. This way the right side is clutter-free and nothing interferes with the long hose deployment. You should try, after a few dives, you don't notice the stages being on the left side. You may have to play with the length of the bolt snaps.
    Also, use a leash and use your butt d ring for empty stages, or just put them back.

    • @CritterHunter
      @CritterHunter  4 місяці тому +1

      You're absolutely right about the hoga.. that was actually my regular single tank backplate and harness I used. My twins harness and plate are out getting drilled and I had yo take my singles bladder off my bc and use the plate and harness with my twin bladder on the twinsets. So not set up for stages or deco. Buy I wasn't really concerned because I won't be using my single or my twinset for the actual dive, as I'm going to use my new sidemount rig, that hasn't arrived yet. I got a custom made bc and harness designed by Andrew Goring, and will be sweet for this. I won't be holding multiple tanks, sometimes not even 1... it'll be clipped next to me on a cage or something.

    • @mattvish2591
      @mattvish2591 4 місяці тому

      @@CritterHunter I'm not sure if the sidemount is the right set up for the attempt. The issue I see is that you will be limited to a 2h resting period (as you nicely showed how long one tank last). If you use the twin set you can get more the 4h before you need to change the rig. Even would consider 300bar, twin 15L steel tanks.
      Alternatively you can look into the UTD sidemount configuration ua-cam.com/video/wkDaiKfLNqo/v-deo.htmlsi=PTH7ODpEdgkQb8kC or even consider their old Z-system Isolatable Manifold, but not sure if this would work for you

    • @CritterHunter
      @CritterHunter  4 місяці тому

      Yes but I am going to have a platform set up with multiple stage tanks clipp3d to it, ready to just switch out. And Yeats the point, since I'll be using so many tanks, sidemount are the easiest to switch out. With twins sets I'd have to totally vhange the whole rig to another each time. I don't want all that weight on me foe 150 hours, I might not even have the 1 tank clipped on unless I'm doing some activity and swimming around. I could just sit or lay on my platform next to my tanks.

    • @mattvish2591
      @mattvish2591 4 місяці тому

      @@CritterHunter I would say, steel cylinder definitely preferred, also look into quick disconnects, very common in CCR. Still would say 4000 PSI, at least for the resting phases. Already have a budget? At any case... this will not be cheap 😅

    • @CritterHunter
      @CritterHunter  4 місяці тому

      @@mattvish2591 why would steels be preferred? And yes I'm getting a full facemask with quick connects. And I got the budget and sponsors and support, but I also own the dive shop and the location I'll be doing it is just in front of my office, so the situation can't get any better. I'm setting up lines and equipment now so I can do underwatwr livestream here and on facebook

    One hell of a goal you set yourself mate, even if you dont beat the record just to attempt it is a win in my book.
    A few thoughts, taking on food and drink has to be difficult so maybe those energy gel tubes could work. Its gotta be hard to pee let alone #2..
    Would DCS become an issue, especially if you have a hard time being hydrated?

    • @CritterHunter
      @CritterHunter  4 місяці тому +3

      Actually food and water are not a problem at all. I'm already on a strict diet to practice. With pur dive plan and gas scheduals dcs won't be a problem either I think. Doing #1 and 2 in a drysuit is my biggest concern probably. So. There's that.

    Do you have oxygen? If so, do you have enough to last you to Cebu chamber? Is Cebu chamber 24 hrs, accessable? Do you have a plan to get there if needed? Are there any local doctors that are trained in dive emergencies and could handle a medical emergency which might manifest from these dives? Are they accessable to you the entire time? Transportation, logistics? Will the chamber take you? Cebu is a long way if something happens don't you think?
    Also since you are a professional, don't you think what you are doing might influence others?
    As a dive instructor since 1995, IMHO you aren't thinking this out properly. Stunts like this gets people hurt. Long transport time, distance and untrained medical professionals are not your friend.
    To attempt such a crazy stunt, you would need a TEAM of trained and certified professionals, not backyard advanced open water students.
    FFS don't be an I.d.i.o.t.

      I've thought of everything you mentioned and much much more. We will have doctors and researchers on site, as well as DAN reps who could make decisions if needed. But dcs is not the issue at 6 meters, sometimes using nitrox mixes. I'm not divulging our dive plan so it can't be followed, but my team is fully aware of what we are doing. I have multiple tech instructors and instructor trainers joining and helping and much more.

      @@mdoc140 I don't what? I'm talking about for when I do the actual dive. Not just today's short one. I have instructor trainers, course directors, Sdi TDI regional manager, cave divers and tech divers for support and planning ect. Plus DAN (diver alert network) wants to be there for testing and contingencies etc. Chamber is only 5 hours away, and I have enough o2 to drive to China is I want. My whole team is very experienced, the least experienced being divemasters. If I am unqualified to sit underwater for 6 days after 3000 dives and multiple tech courses, then so be it. I'll let you be the expert in your mind, but if you want to be useful, tell me how to do it, don't armchair quarterback and sit there telling me I can't do it. I 1000% guarantee you have less experience than any of my team.
      Who are you talking about when you say "backyard open water student"? You've not been paying attention I think, as my shop is a 5star SDi and 5 star TDI training facility, where we focused solely on quality of training for both rec and tec. I have ITs on staff for SDI, TDI, raid, padi and ssi..... you need more facts than what you got so far.
