Does replacing a Halkey-Roberts valve involve a similar process? All of the videos I'm finding for that are just people unscrewing old valves and screwing in new ones, but they're on cheap inflatables, so I'm not sure they apply to a raft. Trying to determine if I need the donut patches.
Hi Luke, The process is the same for a Halkey-Roberts valve. But if you're putting the same valve back into the boat and the internal "nut" isn't damaged all you have to do is unscrew the old valve and thread in a new one. Feel free to give us a call if you have any other questions. 877-677-4327
Would this work on a rubber river inner tube?? It currently has a regular car/bike valve and it takes FOREVER to fill up... I’d like to swap to a different valve
It probably wont work. With a rubber inner tube the material will stretch and keep stretching until it eventually ruptures. With raft material there is a scrim material in bedded that keeps the rubber from expanding. If you glued on a doughnut patch to a rubber inner tube the glue will most likely fail when the tube is inflated. NRS does make river tubes that use raft style valves that are easier and faster to fill. Give us a call at 877-677-4327 if you have more questions.
I have a set of inflatable Letter People that I want to use for my future classroom. Each Letter Person is 20-22 inches and I removed the valves so I could stuff them, but I realizedtherecould be a storage issue. I already have small holes cut in them. How would I replace a valve that small?
I have this issue with my inflatable jousting sticks and was trying to avoid cutting and patching. Looks like this is the only option. Thank you.
Ah, good idea for repairing my Trekraft valve and to fix it even better than before.
Brilliant. Thank you so much. Inside valve housing on my inflatable boat cracked and I couldn't determine the solution until seeing this video.
Very good, clear and convincing,

@@NRSWEB Thank you!
My inflatable boat is an Avon . I am guessing it was made in the 1970 s, what glue would recommend ?
Avon is hypalon. So use the same glue and materials as this video
