Thanks heaps for your message Ando! I think the Scope, Flattener and Mount are excellent choices! The 294 & 183MC both have Amp glow which means you always have to use calibration frames so as a beginner I probably wouldn’t recommend those. The 533MC Pro and 585MC don’t have Amp Glow, are excellent sensors and would pair great the scope. The 585MC is quite a lot cheaper because it’s not cooled, which again is one less thing to worry about :) You would definitely benefit from a filter, if you get the 533 or 585 it also means you can use a 1.25inch filter instead of a 2inch. 1.25 filters are much cheaper. I’d recommend one of the Optolong Narrow Band Filters :) That setup you easily get 5-10min exposures with guiding and probably up to 5min unguided. So 60sec exposures would be easy :)
@@doubledark2 as is it's a great mount. I had absolutely no issues with mine, down the track I just had some spare change so I decided to do it. Good luck!

- EvoFF v2 - Field Smoother for SkyWatcher
EvoGuide 50ED
- mount skywatcher star adventure gti
- camera asi294 color or asi294 pro color or asi593 pro or asi183 or other that you indicate?
- I won't buy guiding telescope and cameras for now
- filters what does it indicate? in my city botle 8
with these settings can I get good images and good exposures of up to 60 seconds?
thank you very much!
The 585MC is quite a lot cheaper because it’s not cooled, which again is one less thing to worry about :)
You would definitely benefit from a filter, if you get the 533 or 585 it also means you can use a 1.25inch filter instead of a 2inch. 1.25 filters are much cheaper. I’d recommend one of the Optolong Narrow Band Filters :)
That setup you easily get 5-10min exposures with guiding and probably up to 5min unguided. So 60sec exposures would be easy :)
What field flattener do you use with the evoguide?
Hey Astroduck! Sorry for the late reply, it's the Starizona Evoguide FF V2. I either purchased it from First Light Optics or direct from Starizona
wow! What mount are you using?
Hey mate I'm using the Skywatcher HEQ5 Pro :)
@@prettyaverageastro7409 thanks for replying! Is it stock or with the Rowan belt upgrade?
@@doubledark2 Sorry it does have the belt mod, performance is quite similar around 0.5-0.8arc seconds on average but definitely quieter :)
@@prettyaverageastro7409 that belt mod does up the price a bit; might try this mount "as is" - $$$ quickly add up :(
@@doubledark2 as is it's a great mount. I had absolutely no issues with mine, down the track I just had some spare change so I decided to do it. Good luck!
Whats wrong with the Evolux?
Nothing's wrong with it, it's a great scope. I just wanted to see what results were attainable with the Evoguide and Flattener 😊
YES. Despite the wobbly, backlashy, tilty focuser, on a sensor up to about 4/3 size, I want to say that the EvoGuide is optically very much in the same league as the RedCat 51.
Thank you PAA. For those on a budget, and perhaps those with ample dosh but want ultimate portability, my inexpert findings coincide with yours with regard to the Evoguide 50 ED. And I was frankly astonished to get this, my very first deep sky astrophotography attempt:

Well done mate, what a great shot!
I'm sure this is a helpful clip, but after hearing " Errrrm" over 50 times in the first 10 minutes, it became difficult to unhear it and my Errrrm-O-meter exploded!
At least you got through 10 minutes.
Greatest comment😅
Great video, but do you realize how many times you say um just thought I’d let you know you said a lot ha ha ha ha ha
Yep I'm a lot more conscious now 😂😂
Umms or not, love the enthusiasm and genuine awe 🤙
It was first class, keep it up! Um away all you want🤩
and here i thought i was gonna be looking at something i would actually be able to afford before i die.

@@prettyaverageastro7409 hell yeah brother I'll sell one of mine as well
I just now noticed that your the maker of the video that responded to my comment that's awesome dude but when I saw the picture of the Galaxy you took I was just in awe It brings so much emotion up in me from somewhere it's crazy. But I'm slowly building up a setup and a skillset because of people like you that are showing us what's out there.thank you
“ amm… emm… emmmm… emmmmmm … EMMM … “ 😓🤦🏻♂️😳. Until you put some genuine effort into this videos and at least do a basic script for your clips … I just can’t subscribe to this channel…
DUDE… you said “ EMMM… “ like over 50 TIMES IN THIS VIDEO.. at least, you go ahead and count it, every freakin 3 - 5 seconds you spell : “ EMMM… “ do you have any idea how disturbing that is ?! 😓🫵🏻🤦🏻♂️
Lol it's called pretty Average Astro for a reason. Thanks for your arm chair feedback. Feel free to make your own content, hopefully you can do a better job than me.
Who the hell makes a comment like this? Please don't breed.
I actually enjoyed the content. I have the same scope and use it as a guide scope, but these results make me want to do some wide field stuff with it. Keep up the awesome work!
@@prettyaverageastro7409 Forget lonut lordache - hasn't even posted anything on UA-cam. Watching you is like listening to me trying to explain this in my head. Love the content and keep it up. It's great to see the journey of your work. I'll keep watching what you post.
lonut lordache, How many vids have you uploaded? I think you are pretty sad mate. No need to make such comments when someone has clearly put effort in. Unlike you.
