N.S. SAVANNAH NHL: Bring Her Home

In “N.S. Savannah NHL: Bring Her Home,” Erhard W. Koehler, Manager, Nuclear Ship SAVANNAH Programs, U.S. Department of Transportation, Maritime Administration (MARAD), will delve into the history of the first nuclear-powered merchant ship, the N.S. Savannah, and its ties to the city of Savannah, which served as its homeport. Koehler will also detail the Maritime Administration’s efforts to preserve this National Historic Landmark ship throughout the decommissioning process and its search for a new steward and home.
