This game gets more and more tempting every time I see something for it. This is also a very tempting deal. Thanks for sharing.

It's great! I enjoy the dangerous but soft-limited and power-scaling magic system much more than the rote hard-cap Vancian magic of traditional DnD. The Great Deeds die/actions are also good for adding more to combat than just roll-to-hit and damage, adding some more cinematic encouragement for the melee beef. DCC has a very sword & sorcery feel to it. Parts can be a bit gonzo, notably in some of their published adventures, but I'd adjust descriptions or homebrew adventures to taste if I wanted to remove such things.

The DCC Annual Vol. 1 has some extra monster content, among other things. Notably more sets of random monster generation tables for a few different types and a set for mutated qualities that can adjust other stat blocks. Not a huge amount, but some extra variety that doesn't require a lot of work.

I have the PDF of the DCC core book. I would like to give it a shot at some point. I really want the DCC Lankhmar box set.

The d14 would be the only real problem, you either use a bigger die and possibly have to reroll a lot, or a random number generator of some sort. But, for the rest of them, it wouldn't be that difficult. However, you can just buy the special 7 dice you'd need for around $10.

Just use the Purple Sorceror app for the Zocchi dice. ~ Jeff

I liked very much playing DCC. Now there's a game that in a way emulates DCC, D&D, Dungeon World and 4AD which I love called D100 Dungeon by Martin Knight! The Funnels of DCC are very fun.

I'm gonna order this in a few days! Sooo excited!
I do wish I could ger the hardback instead of the softcover, but that is fine compared to what's included! Also, the price went up by $5, but still worth it!

I know I'm late to the review but I just bought a set and the paper insert in the dice has a spell inside of it.

I think this could be a good gateway drug for my players. My end goal is to get us all playing AD&D 2E. This can ease them closer to that.

7:55 yep I'm with you on avoiding the backstory. Brief history if they want but its always seems to be a waste of time because no one seems to really pay attention to someone else's backstory mainly because they dragged on and were either absolutely outrageous or completely boring and no one really cared anyway. Then as soon as the game began they all behaved completely different to their own character in the backstory. What the hell was the point?! We trialed it for a time because of one player coming from 5e but we all ended up leaving it out and speeding up the game.

I'm trading a customer a dual sided UDT for the Core Rule Book and 8 modules. Shipping to Canada is just too much.
    Can't wait.

I found Doom of the Savage Kings to be deceptive in its length. It took my group at least three sessions (of 3-4 hours), and I dropped the first encounter, and they never met the old woman.

Most adventure modules have very deceptive lengths. it will never take the amount of time you think it will. Its like murphy's law for time.

A little late to the party. As far as your dislikes on the GM screen go, I can't agree. We use 4 0th levels to refill any dead PC, so the 0th level crit table gets used a ton. Also the monster crit table is great for those randomly generated on the spot deals. I also find it useful for improvisation. Keep the mechanical effect and change the narrative behind it.
