I actually caught this alert over KIH63, but for Coastal Volusia, FL.

Since the Storm Surge warning is new. Older weather radios will have “unrecognized warning” because it came out before Storm surge watch and Storm Surge Warning became a thing

Why did you get it under an unrecognized warning? I got a hurricane warning under a hurricane warning and a storm surge warning under a storm surge warning

Because the radio is an older radio and a storm surge warning is more new then the radio itself so that is why it is unrecognizable
