Haven't seen such a big crowd for a long time. Lovely seeing Major Johnny. And little Wolfie given a gift. This is how we expect our royals to behave and they have done this for many years and it is lovely to see. The majority are estate workers and locals.
I can see only one gift in the hand of wolfie whereas there are many gifts in the hands of Wales Children. So is this fans' choice that they want to give gift to which Royal family member??

I will never understand the obsession about a family that is only famous because they were born into it. To me I am so over the royal family. They are really not that special.
There are plenty of reasons why people still hold onto the idea of Monarchy, and a Royal Family; The King as head of the Church of England, and the idea that Monarchy is a position anointed by God to rule ; The Royal family having a traceable and almost unbroken line back to and before the Norman Conquest ; They represent the continuation of long held tradition and are the last bastion of Britains colonial might; They represent the history of a once great global powerr ; They represent the “old world” in a society that is rapidly changing beyond recognition. For many subjects, they represent constancy and this surely brings comfort to many in uncertain times. I don’t necessarily agree with Monarchy, but it’s not hard to see why.
The monarchy’s popularity in the UK and the commonwealth is simply because it out lasts time and political events, If the uk became a republic then we would be the same as quite a lot of other countries

Monarchs inherited property and title on the merits of forbears, and the expectation that the Monarch would join their fellow man in battle was one that remained for centuries. Even Elizabeth I joined her countrymen to meet the Spanish Armada in battle, but as history would have it the Armada never made it to English shores. This is not something that is disputed.

I thought it was disgusting how England used the royal family for tradition, tourism, and nostalgia when Charles stood outside in the rain greeting people during the pandemic. The next day, it was reported he had COVID. SMH, Charles is an elderly man. He had no business in the cold weather without an umbrella standing for hours, even when Prince Edward had to stand and greet people when he was sick and elderly. And poor Queen Elizabeth couldn't ever put her family first, always had to greet and travel to places to great people. And if she had refused and said she needed time, folks would've cried about not needing a monarchy, the only life she has ever known.

For many subjects, they represent constancy and this surely brings comfort to many in uncertain times. I don’t necessarily agree with Monarchy, but it’s not hard to see why.
The monarchy’s popularity in the UK and the commonwealth is simply because it out lasts time and political events, If the uk became a republic then we would be the same as quite a lot of other countries
